Eurostar takes you to South Station, from there you're best to take a train to Central station and take it from there.

Don't eat or drink around The Grand Place, it's a tourist trap and you be overcharged and served junk. If you want to chill and see some nice girls then I'd recommend to head towards Le Bourse and Place Saint Geri (excuse my spelling), all the bars over there are decent and all serve reasonable food.

Thanks for the info very handy to know! how many stops is it roughly from south station to central station? is it far or like 20-30 mins?

Nooo, it's about 5 minutes and the next stop I think so dead easy.

You may want to check that there's not a Mobistar shop in the South Station that has them. Otherwise head to Rue Neuve in the city centre - there's also FNAC in City2 and Media Markt on the top floor of Inno that sells them, plus Macline reseller is right at the far end of Rue Neuve.

An italian friend of mine bought it for me and shipped it via TNT. He got it from MediaMarket (some electronics shop) because it was sold out everywhere else. He then connected it to itunes and unlocked it.

I am honestly confused about this step. It says unlock complete...what did he really do ? Just plug & play ? :D

Thanks once again, my train doesn't go back till in the evening so i'll make sure i comb the entire town but i'll check out south station first. cheers again. :D

Nwlondonlad, did you reserve one somewhere? Or are you going on luck? If I were you I'd look up all mobistar and apple stores in the neighbourhood, write down all their phonenr's, and call them all up the moment they open, cause I'm guessing you're not going to be the only one! Certain mobistar shops open at 7am tomorrow for mobistar clients to get their hands on it early. I'd get there as early as I could! Too bad I have to work, otherwise I'd come along hunting! I probably won't get one tomorrow since I'll be too late :(

Nope, resellers are too. The easy-m branch (pretty large reseller, but not in brussels) is also doing them, and their 200+ preorders were already spoken for! But you might have some luck in other, more general mega stores like mediamarkt or fnac. Good luck!

Plus FNAC City 2:

Plus in Media Markt there's an instore Apple Shop:

I know for a fact that Macline and Cami have stock (see above)

I think ALL Mobistar shops will get some stock, it's just luck if you happen to get hold of one. If you read the whole thread you'll see that typical Belgian inefficiency and obfuscation has taken over :D

I get mine 10:00 at Macline Rue Neuve...

Well I pre-ordered mine at Macline today when I walked in the shop and they said I was the only person to do so. So I know they have at least 4 black 32GB's and quite a few white and black 16GB's

Does anyone know where i could buy an unlocked iphone in Belgium online?

The only address i have is this -

http://iphone3g.mobistar.be/en/buy0.cfm

but this is for contract only.

There is nothing on the apple web site, which is what i was hoping for.

I understand i need a Belgium address to post this item too, but i have that coverd.

My compeny has an HQ in Belgium, i was hoping to buy an unlocked iphone online and send it to Belgium HQ. and then somebody will forward it to the UK.

Any help will be appreciated.

Duck.

I was going to buy 5 iPhones next week in Italy to place on eBay, but with UltraSn0w looking likely to be able to unlock the 3GS very shortly, I wonder the merit of buying officially unlocked models? Once people know they can unlock a PAYG or their own carrier's phone, why would you pay an extra £200 for one?

Surely to market will fall out?

Thoughts?

First...with officially unlocked model you can update your device anytime you want, and you don't have to wait for new ultrasn0w and redsn0w to become available.

A friend of mine just told that he had succesfully done an order from Apple.it and UPS had delivered his 3GS to Finland with no problem :D

I just put my order through their www-pages...i'll report how it goes.

I'd like to see how he managed as the Italian store hard-codes Italy as the delivery country and expects other Italy-specific address data.

I have a bit of a problem believing that story as you can only order to Italy when ordering on apple.it.

You cannot select any other country sans changing the Apple store.

Update: Ninja'd ;)

Well you don't need to. f.ex just put the country after our city and should be fine. It might not work for US, but we live in EU :)

Hi Follks

So here I am, a proud owner of a black factory unlocked 32GB :)

As said above, I reserved the phone yesterday at the premium reseller Macline on Rue Neuve, they told me they open at 10:00

I was there 10:01, shop was quite busy and I presented myself to a sales rep with my order, his first reaction was "Sorry, we have no stock"... After some careful, but firm, comments he went into the back and returned with the iPhone with my duplicate order form sellotaped to it. So fair doos to the shop they did indeed reserve it.

It was clear though that they had opened earlier than they annouced as all stock of 32GB and 16GB was gone. Funny thing is that a guy I know from work came in trying to buy one and was turned away, I asked him why he didn't reserve and he said he tried but they wouldn't do it...

So I guess I got lucky.

Initial perceptions compared with my QuickPwnd 2G 8GB are incredibly positive, this iPhone completely flies by comparison.

So I am a very happy bunny right now, I suspect a lot of people aren't - I wonder what it was like in the Mobistar shops...

PS I was suprsied to see that it came with a power adapter in the box, I though these were no longer supplied. No dock of course, but I bought the universal dock at the same time...
