Checked my Apple order this morning and still says not shipped nor has it appeared on my bank statement.. my bank is soooo slow

@Inf how is your iphone did it arrive in good condition?

Sounds like you and I are in the same boat.
My bank account has a pending transaction for the amount, but it hasn't been finalized. I suppose it'll ship then.

Does anyone know what would happen if in theory apple ship it and it never arrives, can you claim back off your card or are you screwed?

I've been thinking about that, but it must be up to UPS to find the right person and get a signature right? If you havn't signed anything, you havn't received anything and therefore you should be able to get your money back?

When I phoned my bank up they said the payment had gone through and was authorised but because its an international payment it takes up to 3 working days for it to appear on my statement online.

In this situation no news could be good news? At least we have not had anything back from Apple to say it is cancelled however my gut feeling tells me that will be tomorrow

i second that with you Daleski!

the estimated delivery time is 02 Jul, 2009 - 03 Jul, 2009. but the item is not yet shipped, but i see nothing on my bank statement.

Do you think Apple reads these posts.

i think its unfair we are law binding people, and do not buy copied games and download films.... so it make sense we do not want to hack an $600 iphone.

i work for a telecoms company... not O2. there is no way i can get a O2 contract.

as a long time apple support, i do feel like i have been pushed aside.

Hi everyone, is there anyone from Italy who can confirm availability of iPhones in Italy? I'm from Estonia and i'm desperately looking shop in Italy who have at least 50 pcs. iPhones in stock.

Problem is that most shops don't speak English and they don't replay to e-mails. So if anyone from Italy could help me i would really appreciate that :)

I can't see what the problem is Apple still makes money and everyone is happy, I am sticking with O2 but as I travel at least 3 times a year abroad having one phone to use with any sim is a bonus.

Well only time will tell!

I just got my cancellation email.
"The shipping address and/or post code is incorrect and/or invalid and therefore we cannot process your order. As a consequence, your order has been cancelled."

So it could be the address...or it could be the postal code. *shrug* I could try again...we'll see. I need to strategize it a bit more and do some research. I'm thinking any order with an out of country credit card is flagged.

I think I will be getting the same email then pretty soon, just out of curiosity when was your order originally going to be shipped?

It was supposed to arrive on the 2nd or 3rd. (this thursday or friday). I'm guessing it was supposed to ship today then.

The first thing you should do is contact Apple and try to resolve the situation. Obviously you are rumbled at this point but the most important thing to do is to get your money back and Apple should help in achieving that.

If Apple won't help then your second course of action is to contact your bank and report to them that you did not receive a product that you paid for. This will initiate a Chargeback process with Apple, for which they will be required to demonstrate that you either did receive your product or that they have provided a refund. You are pretty much guaranteed to get your money back at this point, either from your bank as part of the Chargeback process or from Apple as a refund.

Of course, if Apple used FedEx then you'd have had you iPhone by now...no prizes for guessing who I work for.

Do you know which delivery company Apple use in Europe?

Belgium is weird as we have the lowest 3G handset penetration in the western world, the carriers want to change this and encourage people to use the network more, locking handsets will stunt growth.

Locking handsets will encourage growth, the problem is that phones aren't subsidized here AND the contracts don't seem to be any cheaper, so it's a lose-lose. I have an iPhone in Belgium but I use it on pay as you go, because the contracts are so expensive. If the networks want people to adopt 3G they need to lower the price.
I don't get it, Belgium is a small and densely populated country, which means that 90% of the population has 3G coverage, it could be huge, but the contracts are simply rediculous.

Anyway, back to the topic, yes they do sell unlocked iphone 3G S's over here, a friend of mine bought one last week.

I think with doing this king of thing there is always an element of risk so if you don't mind potentially losing money then its worth giving it a shot.

Nothing ventured nothing gained!
