if you find anyone selling stock this week end can you let me know
im looking for a black iphone 32gb

i also live in belgium ..............

I'm going to poke my nose in at Mobistar in Leuven to see what they have to say for themselves this weekend but I did just speak to CAMI in Brussels and they are expecting stock from Mobistar next week. Of course, whether they will get a White 32GB version is anyone's guess and I wouldn't be surprised if Mobistar were holding as much stock for themselves as possible.

in italy

If I can get enough people to buy an iphone 3gs I can get as many as possible from here. I am american and am coming back in August, playing ball here. I just want to know if there is interest

Good grief, I was so incredibly lucky to get that 32GB last week at Macline - I assumed after the first day rush that stocks would start coming in, but apparently not!

A colleague here now wants one and he asked at Macline on Rue Neuve this lunchtime - they said they can order but not give any delivery date. They even said that they didn't expect much stock for two months. Whether this is fact or just some sales guy being a little pessimistic I don't know.

But guys, it's worth the wait - this 3GS is incredible compared to my 2G, so keep faith and the anticipation will be even greater :)

I'm checking the thread daily and if I hear of stock anywhere I'll post.

In regards to my own question about worldwide warranty when bought in Italy, here is a straight answer from Apple Store Italy :

Dear Customer
1) yes, the unlocked iPhone can be used with any carrier
2) you are indeed eligible for warranty worldwide, as long as there is Apple Store that offers assistance in the country you wanna travel to.
i.e.: if you are in the U.S, you can definitely find assistance there, should the iPhone have some technical issue.

3) yes you can use your iPhone to connect to the internet, via wi-fi or even connecting through the carrier, but in this case, with no contract, it might be very expensive.
For any further information, you can contact the iPhone Support in Italy on 199 120 800 .

Hi PSMAC,

Would these 3GS's be factory unlocked to any sim, or locked to AT&T, as we believe all Iphones are in the US?

If you can get unlocked ones .... PM me plse.

If I bought a factory unlocked 3GS from Italy and used it in AT&T in the US do you think that they would be able to tell that it was an iPhone and charge you the mandatory iPhone data package that they sell with all their locked ones? It doesn't matter if they do, I was just wondering.

This is kind of strange to hear.

Well the problem here is what is counted as a Apple Store. In Finland we don't have any Apple Stores...we just have these Premium Sellers etc. So that won't be covered here :(

Also one finnish dude called apples support phone and asked if he could return his 3GS because it has this rattle effect (i do too). The person on the other end went to ask from someone else and after he came back he just said that he can't allow it because the phone has been bought from Italy and accidentally delivered to Finland (geez wonder why :D). But he promised that he can take it back and refund the money to his account.

This is interesting...

I will be going to Italy later in the month (back Aug 8) and was thinking about buying a 3GS to sell. Anyone in Toronto/GTA interested? I want to only deal in person to avoid any fraud.

I just checked the prices of unlocked 32gb iphones on google and ebay... are people really paying up to £999  the mind boggles!

Yeah, I had a look at that myself a couple of days ago. While it is tempting to try and buy some here and sell them on eBay (assuming stocks can be found), I learnt my lesson a couple of years back when I tried selling Nintendo Wiis that were easily obtainable in Europe back to the UK. It turned out that I wasn't the only one to have this "brilliant" plan and after all the fees involved I barely broke even. I wouldn't be in the slightest bit surprised if the same thing was to happen with the iPhone 3GS so I'm not going there again.

Someone I know from work done the same thing with 4 playstation 3's when they came out.. he lost money and did not even break even.

Rattle effect ? It just arrived and there's a problem with it ? :( What do you think may be causing it ?

Yep there is a problem. And I think Apple is aware of this.

Don't really know what could cause this. The rattling only occurs if you tap the upside of the backplate, near the sleep/wake button and cameralens. Some say it's the autofocus thing in the new 3GS. It can also be that the sleep/wake button or the volume rocker is someway little loose and makes the sound when tapping :(

Is this really a problem? It's not like one of the features of the iPhone is that it doesn't rattle which you tap it!

If I tapped all my consumer devices and demanded a replacement if they rattled, I'd spend a lot of time in customer service departments!

As long as it doesn't affect the operation or longevity of the phone, I think I'll just live with it (mine has the 'feature' too). :)

YEah its not a big problem because it doesn't effect use in anyway

I was just saying because daleski75 said yesterday, he/she was worried that they still didn't withdrew the money from his/here credit card.

I already talked to them yesterday and they said we are likely to receive the phone next week (but they didn't specify the day unfortunately). I thought you have been bombarding them with emails. what was their reply for your last email (yesterday)?
