iPhone 3Gs - Italy and Belgium - unlocked?

Unlocked --- what about the net?

I have unlocked my iPhone 3G, I can use the Italian provider, now; but -so far- it has been impossible to connect to the data network, only phone calls.

Any idea? Has anyone dealt with this problem?

hey dude..just in case you don't get a satisfying answer here. check the iphone hack forum, i am sure they will be able to help you. Here we don't believe in the software unlocking philosophy, we only believe in factory unlocked ;)

Edit: though i will be unlocking my current 3G, if i don't sell it :)

can you please tell me about the accessories and from which site you ordered in case if prices there are cheap?

Handtec has no accessories for iphone just one case and one charger lol

hmmmm not really but they used to give me general answer like 1-2 weeks and after few days, they keep repeat same period like 1-2 weeks.

Only yesterday they gave me a direct date.

I do not have an iPhone yet but I would have thought that in order to use a data network you will need the following:

  1. A SIM card from a cellular service provider that has a data network - preferably 3G.
  2. A contract or Pay As You Go plan that allows access to your provider's data network.

An unlocked phone should certainly work, particularly since all iPhones in Belgium are unlocked.

You probably already said Dream, but when did you order your 3Gs? i placed an order on Monday.

Nothing special. Few things to keep me going, until i find what i like (iphone accessories really suck!).

1) BodyGuardz Clear Protection, from Expansys (12 days to deliver!). They sell the iphone for £909 :eek:

2) Apple universal Dock

3) a cheap Belkin Leather Holster, from amazon.

4) i am trying to find a place to buy the griffin reveal in the UK, but up to now no luck :(
 
I got invisible shield for iphone but still confused about cases :(

Griffin Reveal looks good but does not provide good protection against shocks/drops.

Sena cases are awesome and for sure I will not keep my iphone most of the time in the case. that is why i got invisible shield too.

See..I don't like keeping my gadgets covered with things that mask their identities. This is why my first order was the body guard. and it is the same reason i am trying yo buy the griffin reveal. Yeah, it doesn't protect well, but up to now, i can't find anything that gives good protection and in the same time show the back of the phone (apple logo and the iphone word) in the back.

Edit: the sena cases look amazing, i may give up to them, if i can't find what i want.
 
I agree with you, it is difficult to find good case.

Guys, anyone mailed handtec today? we need someone to do lol

I just mailed them yesterday night :p

i orderd the Water cube from www.ultra-case.com becasue it's see-through case and squzey gel like.
 
i like everyone is buying accessories before they get the product. :D

they do some very nice case's, i'm thinking of getting a few so i change them on a day by day thing.

just so you know, i'm a Guy too. ;)

Something is niggling me. On Ebay, some people are selling factory unlocked 3GS's from usa for a reasonable amount, but I thought all US phones were locked to AT&T.

My Bro lives in LA and if you can source factory unlocks from over there .... well I'll be asking a favour of him. The thing is, I get the feeling they are not unlocked, and try as I might, I can't find someone who has bought one and left feed back so I can message them ....

Like I said, its niggling me. Also, its niggling me that I'm STILL waiting for my passport to come back (ran out end of may - Doh)..... and if that wasn't bad enough....the romantic weekend away to ahem .. Belgium or Italy I had planned ;) - her PP ran out this month too! So thats 2 PP I had to pay for :( Lets just hope there's plenty or romance and 3GS's!

Needless to say, I've some explaining to do to my CC co about so many cancelled attempted buys.... nearly run out of ideas!

Short answer is ALL phones sold within USA are locked so don't waste your money ;)
 
The odd thing is, these factory unlocked iphones must be coming from somewhere. They can’t all be from Italy, or Belgium. The unlocked iphone I bought from a UK seller must come with a UK plug.

So where are they getting them from??? Factory unlocked iphones must come from the factory.

Can’t apple sell unlocked iphones them selves?

I would say they come with a european plug and maybe an adapter will be thrown in.
