I got sent this by my brother:

I lol'd but it made me think, the point it makes is quite true. The iPhone 6 introduces nothing 'revolutionary', 'magical' or something which makes it stand out from it's competitors. To date, it still lacks in some areas and yet a lot of Apple users are made to feel that they're getting something truly amazing.

Yes Apple do it better and to a higher quality than their competitors but when you really look at it, they're still far behind and what we've seen from the iPhone 6 is nothing new. Apple are just playing catch-up instead of others playing catch-up with Apple. I think this has been the most disappointing iPhone yet.

What are your thoughts?

The Nexus 4 didn't have LTE. This post makes you sound extremely jealous.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
Because when Apple does it it's done right. When android does it it's half ass, useless, and doesn't work as advertised.

That's the difference. Apple gears their products towards usefulness not because it's a great gimmick.

Because people are so desperate to spend way over the odds for a device with limited storage they can't upgrade unless they pay Apple a monthly subscription fee for an unsecure service using a device that's the biggest physically in it's class.. yeah Apple does it right alright

Where do you get monthly subscription and unsecure device? You have no idea what you're talking about...

And when VISA themselves couldn't make people take up wireless payments... how is Apple going to be any different?

Because VISA had to contend with US banks that didn't want to have to take on the he added cost of the wireless hardware in the plastic cards. The other obstacle to widespread adoption of wireless payments from other NFC equipped phones is the damn US wireless carriers and their own payment system ISIS (or whatever they changed the name to last week).

My iPhone 4 is incredibly laggy, but this is with iOS6 and up. It's unusable at times. This is the non S model that I have sitting in a drawer as an emergency phone. It wasn't too laggy with iOS5 though in all fairness.

Heh, I'm still using iOS5 actually :p

I went to Droid Life and was like  at the comments. All I could do is shake my head.

Thought I saw you get ripped apart at Android Central today as well.

It was really quite amusing how much of a lather the Android faithful got worked up into there today. They didn't like it when I pointed out the fact that the posts/articles with the most comments and traffic on Android Central by far were the Apple related ones. Hell, I think their site crashed for a while during the Apple keynote.

You must've missed Apple fans foaming out of their mouths when the Samsung Note 4 and Note Edge were released. All fan bases are the same and have the same idiots and trolls.

What? I got ripped apart? Let me check. I posted something earlier on there, but never went back to check the comments.

Edit: Oh, this? http://www.androidcentral.com/apple-inventing-bigger-smartphones-today

I commented and said:
I'm definitely excited! I plan to get the 5.5" iPhone 6! Only Apple creates so much awareness for an electronic device. But, what do you expect from the number one selling smartphone for the past seven years. No one comes close.

I saw no lie in that statement, though.

Since when does monthly subscription mean device? I'm talking about iCloud..

And the excuse for the rest of the world like the UK is what then??

Why do Android people hate so much?

I just don't like Apple's attitude when releasing new iPhone's, and acting like it's all "magical" and "revolutionary", almost as if no one has seen or done this before,.

When in reality, Android or maybe Windows Phone has had a majority of these same features for a couple of years already..

Apple, who you crapping ?

I don't know, I don't live in the UK, though I thought wireless payments were more prevalent there than here in the US. Actually, my understanding was wireless payments were more prevalent everywhere besides the US. I believe NFC payment options are widespread across Canada.

Agreed, there are extreme zealots in both camps and I hate trying to converse with either of them. Just found it funny how it was Apple stories generating the most clicks there--certainly isn't the case here.

Shall I add that the nexus is half the price of the iPhone? Nobody can convince me that the doubling in price equals to double the user experience

You don't need iCloud to use iPhone unless you backup to the cloud which is unnecessary. You can choose to backup with PC/MAC locally. You probably don't understand this concept on Android because you cannot fully backup Android without rooting.

I went from a 4S to a Nexus 4 to a Nexus 5. I hate my Nexus 5. Can't wait to finally use a phone that doesn't suck so hard.

Don't understand? hahahaha, I FULLY understand how if you buy a 16GB iPhone then Apple are going to hope you pay them a monthly subscription to move your photos to the unsecure iCloud, you know because MOST people don't tend to take their computers around with them in case they need to backup their photos to free up storage space on their iPhones.

I've used Note 2, Note 3, Tab Pro/S, Nexus 5, Galaxy S5, LG G3... you name it... they're laggy. If you don't perceive them as laggy.. good for you, we have different standards and use smartphones differently. Personally I'm tired of a slow phone. I'd gladly take speed over some of the great functionalities of the Android OS.

I don't believe you.

You just admitted that you have never used an apple product before by being so ignorant.

Because people are so desperate to spend way over the odds for a device with limited storage they can't upgrade unless they pay Apple a monthly subscription fee for an unsecure service using a device that's the biggest physically in it's class.. yeah Apple does it right alright

But those are your words not Apples. I think you're injecting your own attitude into products that you've never used before. Your ignorance is what is a terrible attitude.

Actually use an Apple product and then have an opinion.

I just don't like Apple's attitude when releasing new iPhone's, and acting like it's all "magical" and "revolutionary", almost as if no one has seen or done this before,.

I will never understand the Android vs iOS debate. GROWN people arguing over a damn OS...sigh...the world we live in.

I used to be a hard-core Apple fan but after messing with Android, I've become open-minded about both OS's.

However, the one thing I have noticed, the :apple: fanboy is extremely close minded--much like their software :p They have this "sheep" mentality where everything Apple does, it's better--no matter what, even if its outdated technology.

The truth is, iP6 is an outdated piece of hardware--plain and simple. I get that iOS is optimized for the device but, c'mon!

And after all these years that NFC has been around, now is when Apple joins the party? I just don't get it.

Nonetheless, it's pointless to argue with a :apple: fanboy.

Edit: Let me add, I will check out the phone at stores and the techie in me, might consider buying the device.
