I was told something similar. They haven't received additional information on the packages that were delayed due to operational issues at the Korea facility.

I tweeted at UPS earlier and they didn't like that much.

I have been relatively calm throughout this whole release, but I am starting to lose it.
Don't! It's only a phone and at this point outside of your control. As I said to another person, sit back and enjoy time with your online friends. Have a hot drink. Appreciate the time of excitement/anticipation without it becoming an obsession.

I'm so frustrated right now with Apple and UPS that I'm not sure I even want the phone. :(

My new phone excitement is gone.

Finally, someone who shares my feeling!

I've been tracking it and refreshing. the plane actually moves. It was about halfway a couple hours ago. you can open it up on multiple pages and refresh and see it move.

if you notice, it never says departed. When a flight actually departs, google wil show "departed". Similarly it will show "arrived" when it lands. It just says scheduled departure. Its just a glitch. UPS99 never took off today.

You're all complaining that it's being delayed in transit and what not but I'd kill for mine to just ship right now period. My fear is that my order is being forgotten about every second it sits on "processing items". I continually refresh but why bother...

Edit: I'm clearly whining but not at any of you. It's misplaced anger I'm sorry haha

The thing is, I was just like you last week. Whining because I had been in PFS for about 5 days. Now it finally starts to move and Im getting my delivery dates switched, mechanical issues, the works. This is a nightmare that began at 3am on September 9th and just refuses to end.

logical? who knows ;) my current guess for the 8:01 club that is stuck in Korea is that the Apple estimated delivery date was far enough out that UPS delayed them and gave priority to those with shorter delivery windows, but what do I know. I'm trying to make sense of why those pallets are just sitting in Korea for 2+ days.
I am in that group and the date I got from apple is the 23rd so hopefully it shows up tomorrow.

This site says that UPS99 is actually a few minutes ahead of schedule and should arrive in Alaska at 12:37 local time

If it did take off, there should have been a departure scan. I agree, a lot of them directly had theirs at Louisville. Trust me, I wasted the whole of yesterday hoping for the same.

Our phones are still in Korea! The sooner you accept it, the less frustrated you will get. Just saying!

I'm one of the 8:01 group and mine is still unchanged. I see a bunch of others being updated with mechanical failure, but none on mine, so hopefully it is a fluke

Even if your phone moved into "shipped" it is still going to have a long wait behind the pallets of phones that they cannot seem to move. You'll be even more upset when it sits in China for a week after you get the email from Apple.

I think you're on to something.

  • Incheon, KR
  • 09/23/2016 12:24 A.M.
  • A mechanical failure has delayed delivery. We're adjusting plans to deliver your package as quickly as possible.
Your time/status would indicate a different flight and therefore two separate flights with mechanical issues

I think it's their excuse for not being able to handle the workload

It never did show up at takeoff time though, and other flights are showing that are smack in the middle of the two airports. I have a feeling it never left, but I will be DELIGHTED to be wrong. :D
But they dont have any information for many areas other than times ;) Look at their FAQ section.

UPS Worldwide Express Saver does not do Saturday deliveries!! If we, the 8:01 club with also the mechanical failure club, do not receive our phones on Friday, then next week it is unfortunately.

Uh...you're making two assumptions: a departure scan and that the phones are still in Korea. Given the wacky updates people have been seeing from UPS, and the updates from UPS that several people's phones "weren't even in Korea" despite showing that on the tracking info maybe being so sure of something without proof isn't going to help anyone :)

So just talked to UPS. They have a special department to handle the iPhone shipments that they transferred me to. Well they were no help. The girl basically said it is beyond their control because it is not in the USA yet. She blamed it on Apple and said they had to handle it because they are the ones that setup the shipping outside of the USA. I ask if they were going to deliver on Saturday due to the delay and she said no because the shipper did not pay for Saturday delivery. I did find out if it does get to my distributor I can have them hold it and pick it up Saturday when they are open. I am not sure what to think now.
