You can also have the package held at a UPS location so you can pick it up whenever. I do that so I can get it early on release day. It never goes on the delivery truck so it can be picked up when they open.
This is the route I go as well. I'd have to wait at home til late afternoon if I didn't do so.

I feel completely screwed over this year - I get a new phone every year, and NEVER have a problem. This year, the site didn't come up for me until about :09 past the hour, despite refreshing constantly.

So I add my phone to my cart, see 9/16 delivery, go through (QUICKLY) entering carrier and billing info, and by :12 past the hour, with NO forewarning, I get told that my delivery date is October 4-10, but not until AFTER the order is submitted.

128GB Matte Black, AT&T, 7+, buying outright.
So disappointed and frustrated.

Question: If I have selected pickup in store but have paid online for the preorder, will my item still be shipped from apples offsite facility to the store seperate to the walk-in iPhones for launch day, or will I just be given a walk in device that has been linked to my preorder?

I am trying to preorder through the App or website. I want to pay full price for a non contract device. When I get toward the end I get the message "Account type not supported. We're sorry. The Verizon Wireless account you have is a business account. Please contact your company's telecom manager or Verizon Wireless account manager to complete your iPhone purchase."

I plan on purchasing the phone (again at full price) and then having it activated on my business line. However I don't want to buy the phone through Verizon. Is there a way to pre-order through Apple, or do I have to wait to buy in store?

I'm with both of you. Apple Store app finally let me in at 3:05edt, initially shipping 9/16 (7+ 128gb matte black) ran through the order process, then right when I went to pay the AT&T Next taxes, it slipped to 10/4-10/10.

Hoping Wayne is right here; don't want to wait another month for it.

They ran out of current inventory pretty quick but as they get better at the process and iron out the kinks phones will ship sooner than expected. And keep an eye on store inventories after the launch. Last year I had an October delivery date for a 128GB but snagged a 64GB in-store on 9/26. I got in line and cancelled the current order over the phone when I new it would update my upgrade eligibility immediately.

I've pre-signed, but never did this. How do you go about getting them to hold it at the depot for you?

when you get you tracking number (assuming it's UPS, i've never tried with fedex cause mine have always been UPS), go track it on UPS and you can click 'change delivery' or something like that and one of the options is 'hold at UPS' (not sure the correct verbiage).

nope this is not the case lol. apple has delivered as quoted for the last three releases. i can attest to that.

A lot of people who have successfully ordered also got a reservation because at some point they got an error and retried. Myself included. 2 successful orders, and an unneeded reservation.

Those reservations should free up and re-allocate starting 4PM PST/7PM EST Saturday the 10th.

So... some of you may see your shipping estimates improve over the next few days.

Does anyone know how to change the shipping address? I placed the order basically in my sleep last night and it went to my old address (just moved last month). My AT&T account had the old address, but I just updated that as well. When I go into order details to try and update the address, it gives me this message - According to the policy of your wireless service provider, the iPhone in this order can only be shipped to your current wireless billing address. Other items can be shipped to different addresses.

I am worried because my old address is in a different state, so there would be no easy way to access it.

Got a 7 Plus 128GB for delivery next Friday... To North Carolina. Wife and I live in Florida, but on my M-I-L's account.

My wife could pick up her phone in store down here, but I couldn't pick up mine.

Any chance we'd be able to change that?

I got a black 7 Plus 128 GB for delivery next Friday... to my parent's house in southern VA, and I'm in DC area because of being on AT&T family plan. Really annoying. I wanted to do in-store pick-up like I did for my 6, but I didn't get that option and would love to be able to change it. Guessing it's too late for 9/16 pick-up, even if we're able to.

Ordered through the Apple app on AT&T Next at 2 minutes past. 128 7 Plus in Black. Avoiding the fingerprint scratchy magnet. Delivery on the 16th. No issues.

I do that too, but when it's ready MAY depend on the site you pick i.e. Our UPS store doesn't get a delivery until mid afternoon, but the Customer Center has it at 8:30 when they open. You can call and find out which meets your needs.

Last few times I held at the UPS location I stood in line for an hour along with everyone else getting a phone. The lady asked if anyone was there for anything other than picking up an iPhone and no one was.

Sadly... cancel and re-order is likely the only solution.

Best bet is to call Apple and they can change it no problem for you. Had this problem I think with the 6, 2 years ago.

My order for 7+ 128 black ATT is showing Sep 27-29. I also received the approval email from Citizens for the iPhone Upgrade Program. I see that the 7 128 black ATT is still showing delivery on launch day. Debating if I should hold out and hope my order somehow arrives early, or try to cancel and reorder the standard size 7. My concern is that I'll mess up my Upgrade Program approval and cause another hard credit check if I try to cancel/reorder. First world problems, indeed...

It's my experience that when they tell you 2-3 weeks it will be sooner, although maybe not on launch day. There are people that cancel or who's charge doesn't process so that could bump you up to launch day. I think the launch day allocation is fairly fixed.

Btw. Check your charge and order status daily or more. They give you time to correct a charge issue but it could delay you. I've had my card holder decide multiple Apple charges are fraud. I sent them a message Pre clearing but that's not a perfect system.

Yes, definitely always pick a customer center! True, you have to wait for the store to get the shipment. And there's no time for that!

DO A CHAT WITH APPLE TO CHANGE SHIPPING ADDRESS!!!!

It took like an hour before I got connected, but the CSR changed the shipping address on my order, still showing 9/16 delivery. As mentioned a little above, I am on AT&T Family Plan and my phone was shipping to my parents house a few hours away. Figured I'd do a chat, worth a shot, and got the address changed within about 5 minutes, once I got connected to an agent. The change was reflected on my order status before the chat was even over. I also just got an update through Apple Pay that the tax on my order was updated (Northern VA has a higher sales tax than back home).
