After 2:45 on hold I finally spoke to someone and they expedited the shipping for my iPhone. I explained how it went through to the end and then times out and originally I had a date for release date. He said there was still a pretty good chance I would get it next Friday, but with the expedited shipping the absolutely latest I will get it is Sept 20-22. Better then the 27-29.

Hopefully this post helps a lot of other people feel better and gives us a chance we still get it next Friday!
Wait...2 hours and 45 minutes? Wow. I don't need my phone that bad. Hope it comes sooner than later.

Mine is still "processing"... Although the estimated delivery date is the 16.

Is this normal?

Yes. tl;dr it will come no later than the email says (the 16th for you I assume)

Typically it is "Processing" when your order hasn't been assigned to a device yet. All week apple is flying in units from china. When they arrive in the US at a distribution center, they will assign the device to your order and link the warranty to your Apple ID. At this point they will charge your credit card and change your order to "Preparing for shipment".

I've ordered the new iPhone on pre-order day every 2 years since the 3G and its basically the same story every time....

The initial delivery date you get is somewhat irrelevant. The majority of the people that ordered within the first several hours will get their's by or on the 16th regardless of what your initial date says. This assumes your credit card and carrier info are all valid and issue free. Those who ordered later today and got delivery dates a few weeks out will likely get their's the following week. If you are just ordering now (12 hrs later) than you might be waiting a couple weeks.

One time I got my phone a day earlier than the "release day." Every other time it has arrived on release day. Last time I didn't even get a shipping notification until the Thursday night before release day and it was still there on time. I could see that the phone was still in China on Thursday and it still got to my door by Friday evening. They have the logistics down pretty tight (at least they have in the past).

Even thought they start saying 2-3 weeks after the first few minutes, in the past, this hasn't mattered much. Most people that ordered within the first several hours got it on "release day." The only way I see this not working the same is if Apple severely underestimated the demand this time around which I doubt but anything is possible. They did mention some limited supplies of the Jet Black one initially so if that is true, then that might be the exception to everything else I said.

Question for you guys: I haven't skimmed through these posts yet but my order says 1-2 weeks and I ordered right when it came up for me at 12:05. I did a 128GB Jet Black 7 plus, does this seem right?

Quick question: I decided to enroll in the iPhone Upgrade Program for the iPhone 7 this year. I heard about what happened to existing customers on the iPhone Upgrade Program from last year. Really sucks. Since I'm new to the program, can I pay off the ENTIRE sum of the phone plus the AppleCare+? I've searched online and checked Apple's website but can't find any information about paying of the entire remaining balance of the phone, only the "early upgrade option" by paying the next six installments.

I currently have the delivery date of Oct. 4th-10th for ATT iPhone 7 Plus 128GB Matte Black. Any chances of this date moving upward for me or even to release date?

Thanks guys!

Yes. Ordered 7+ Jet Black 128GB around 12:06am with a 1-2 week delivery. I honestly don't know if Jet Black is delivering on launch day. The supplies were so slim.

not necessarily true for launch shipments. the 'preparing' or 'processing' for launch shipment doesn't mean anything. i've seen multiple times apple says 'processing' or 'preparing for shipment' the NIGHT before delivery.
and usually you can track your device via Fedex or UPS reference long before apple says it's shipped.

I ordered 2 phones

128gb 7+ black
128gb 7+ rose gold

The black one has moved to the 'processing' stage on the apple stor app, with an estimated ship date of Oct 4 - Oct 10.
RG also says 'processing', but with an estimated ship date of Sept 25 - Sept 30.

Last year, my wife's RG 6s+, although being the most requested and preordered, shipped almost two weeks earlier than expected. I doubt this will happen again, but I'm just curious if anyone has any insight on whether or not second wave pre-orders will ship quicker than predicted? I also wonder if ordering through Apple directly will bring our phones to us quicker than using AT&T like we did last year.
Soon!
Give me your feedback and let's keep the excitement brewing!

I'm not going to be back until the Monday after launch. Was hoping it would arrive then at least

I got mine around 3:04am with Preparing for shipment and a 9/16 delivery date. It was too bad that none of the stores in the Washington DC area had any 128gb Gold 7+ available to be picked up. Card got charged for the original cost with Applecare, but I may have to call Apple over the weekend to see if I can get the refund for the Applecare back to my card. Hopefully that can be adjusted since it was canceled while the phone was in the processing stage and I got the email saying that I wasn't charged for it.

I ordered two 7 Plus Silver iPhones. I have questions for you guys. I hope you can help me. I'm going abroad on 25 September. Thus I need to change my shipping address to my friend.
First of all can I change my shipping address?
If I change my shipping address will Apple postpone my delivery date?
The difference between shipping address and billing address would cause any trouble with my orders?

If changing the address makes any trouble I have to cancel my order.

Well, for me, this was worse than the 6 launch. I had an easier time getting the 6 plus than I did this 7 plus.

Started hitting refresh at 1:59am. I was finally able to get in at about 2:08am. I wanted a space gray 32 7 plus.
Said delivery would be somewhere around 26 September so I switched to rose gold which had a deliver date of the 16th. Got almost all the way through when it said it could not contact Sprint but would reserve a phone for me. This happened with the 6 plus too so no biggie. Got the email at 6:00am saying I could complete my purchase. From 6 am until 2 pm I got the error saying page requested is not available on the Apple site. Finally at 2 pm I was able to get in. It then had changed the status from shipping on the 16th to in store pick up with no store available. No matter what option I tried it said I had to pick up the phone but no store available. Tried that for about 10 minutes until I gave up and started from scratch from the Apple site without using my reservation. I wound up with a silver and delivery date of October 4th to October 10th.

What is the point of getting up at 2 am to get one on launch day if I just get the runaround and can't actually order? I could have ordered around 10am this morning, without getting up in the middle of the night, and had an earlier delivery time! It seems like its getting worse with each release and I am really surprised that Apple doesnt have it together by now.

I fought and fought with the system and finally got an order through with the Oct. 4-10 shipping date. Black 128GB 7+. I did next with $300 down. They haven't taken the money out, when do they typically put the charge through?

Jetblack seems like a fingerprint/scratch magnet.

< They CLAIM to have put some sort of coating, or something in the case itself, to prevent fingerprints. We shall see. Oops...just saw all the posts where Apple mentions micro abrasions with use. I plan to use a case anyway, so I will just admire the Jet Black shell in a Clean Room with full CDC type garb on before putting it back in it's "bubble."

Still doesn't answer how you pre-order with the upgrade program if you aren't already a part of it.
>> You register for the Upgrade Program during your iPhone order. There is a screen that asks if you want Apple's Upgrade Program, AT&T Next, and more.
