Love all the people wasting hours of their life on hold to get "expedited shipping" for their phone that probably hasn't even been made yet. I've been pre ordering iPhones since the 3s, the game hasn't changed. Calling for expedited shipping is not going to get you your phone any quicker, trust me.

I was just straight up honest and acted really nice. I told them if they could that would be great but I understand you all are getting hammered and having a hard day so if you can't I totally understand. They gave it to me free after that. Honesty and kindness go a long way. Absolutely no way I will say I have a friend that you all did it for when I have no such friend. If you really do have that friend then go for it. Integrity is far more important than an early shipment date.

Sometimes thats hard to do if you have to wait on the phone for an hour to talk to a rep. Always best to treat others like you want to be treated :)

From past multiple years of doing this, Apple wants to ship as many iPhones as quickly as possible to as many people as possible. While asking doesn't hurt, it actually doesn't help either. It more of feeling like you have a bit of control, when in reality you don't. Quoting a week earlier delivery time is simply taking out any float that was in the quote to begin with and would have be done automatically if at all possible.

Anyone that got an improvement, may now be disappointed if their is the slightest bit of hiccup and the date slips. By design Apple provided the for sure date first, always intending to improve on it if at all possible. Apple does not have any reason to delay shipping product that is available.

Interestingly, what other phone receives this much attention upon release. The excitement and anticipation is something other manufacturers would love to have. In effect marketing by the consumers. Free every year.

Sometimes you just have to be happy with what you have, but there is nothing wrong with wanting more imo.

Thank you. Honestly that sounds fantastic- and I couldn't agree more. Especially with all the stress Apple customer support must currently be under, such honesty makes everything on their end much easier too.

So it only changes the shipping time not the time that it takes to ship it out. Mine has always said 6-8 days to ship it out. But instead of a delivery day of the 29 it is now the 20th.

Same here. The phone rep said that she can make sure the phone gets to me as fast as possible as soon as it lands in the states. She said that Apple by default picks expedited shipping for all orders but she can make sure that my order will be shipped by Next Day Air instead of the current ground shipping that's selected by default.

What did you say to get expidited shipping? I have the same delivery date as you originally had, I'm intrigued because It'd be brilliant to push that forward. Does it cost too?
i said " can i get expidited shipping" she said sure let me check that for you...4 mins later...done
[doublepost=1473524163][/doublepost]notice its the people who have "Sept 16th delivery dates" telling you to chill....LOLOLOLOL people amaze me. "Expedited" shipping means nothing. You have no clue if yours is one that's already in the US and what hub it's coming from, or direct from China, until you get tracking. If it's close itll come overnight or 1 extra day regardless of method.

If it's coming from China it will be the same speed as every other device flown in. They can only come internationally so fast.

If it's not coming the 16th by tracking, the 17 and 18th are weekend anyway and couldn't possibly come until Monday (face it Apple isn't paying more with millions of phones for Sat delivery option) which already gives them an extra 2 days buffer time in their quote.

And Apple tends to overnight ALL of their iphones, even during the year by their own policies.

So begging for 'expedited" 99.99% means nothing other than they are updating your quoted delivery date more toward actual shipping without the buffer

Everyone thinks they are special. Like I told my son when he saw people driving on shoulder past us in traffic jam. He asked why can they do that dad? They are special, I told my son, just ask them and they will tell you they are special.

This thread reminds me of Veruca from Willy Wonka

Exactly my thoughts. I was just going through some previous posts of the few people on here telling everybody else to chill about the late delivery dates. Each and everyone of them is getting it on launch day. And they talk about the rest of us feeling "entitled"

Wha? So people who HAPPENED to get a 16th deliver date ASSIGNED BY APPLE are somehow "entitled?" And mine isnt even the 16th either but LOL. Interesting viewpoint/logic there

And people ARE whiney. Omg some, like myself, will "only" get it still in September which has 2 weeks in the month after the 16th, what a life altering tragedy of justice.

Exactly my point..

I would have to lean towards thinking that there are some harding working folks, people that aren't entitled, but just want to get what they pay for on time or as soon as possible without having to wait for something that they worked hard towards. Some people always think negatively, I doubt all of these people are silver spoon fed and want everything now, because that is what they are used to.

Did that someone care that unlike them the store didn't work right away for others despite the fact that they stayed up just like everybody else? Did they say "Oh no let's wait for all those people who didn't get to order so there's enough inventory"? Don't think so. I also don't think that getting expedited shipping screws someone else's order in any way.
Having tracked my past orders, have found that expedited delivery happens automatically. Every order is expedited. Why they don't charge you. Telling you so is basically a feel good thing. Can't hurt and leaves customer feeling special.

Ups, FedEx are so into the process now it's amazing to watch. Cargo 747s flying from China fillled with thousands of phones landing in Alaska then going to various main hub city's and then regional cities. Transferring to trucks. Whole trip takes 24 to 48 hours. They are doing all the phones as fast as possible. There is nothing to expedite. No slow boat from China. All air expedited.

But there were 0 guarantees of getting one the 16th, as anyone knows from the last 8 to 9 years of iphone releases or ever read a news article about iphone releases.

And no offense to these people but when you ordered it said a date and you still chose to order. I saw 9/23 to 9/30 and still hit the purchase button knowing what I was getting.

If it said the 16th and THEN fell back, ok, I get that grip 100%

Let's push back someone else's shipping because we are whiny and entitled. Great idea.
It's simply not done that way. Manufacturing is working round the clock, shipping is all expedited. No one gets their order any faster than what they are in que for. When you call and get a week improvement all that was done is the float time in your two week window was moved to the back instead of the front. You feel good but in reality you are getting it when you would have gotten it anyway.

TL, DR: after more then 2100 posts in this topic we can confirm that there a few (or maybe more) very very impatient people here?

Im impatient too and hope to get mine the 16th, but when I hit the "Buy" button I full well knew the 9/23 to 9/30 date. It was not hidden from anyone who still chose to buy. Have to remain realistic, you hit the buy button full knowing the time assigned. It COULD be quicker but no promises.

THIS. People don't seem to listen or get it. EVERY YEAR every pre-order is expedited shipping once made and into the US. EVERY PHONE comes the same speed from China on flights.
