Wha? So people who HAPPENED to get a 16th deliver date ASSIGNED BY APPLE are somehow "entitled?" And mine isnt even the 16th either but LOL. Interesting viewpoint/logic there

And people ARE whiney. Omg some, like myself, will "only" get it still in September which has 2 weeks in the month after the 16th, what a life altering tragedy of justice.

Not my point at all. Let's face it, everyone - including yourself - who stayed up late to preorder the second the store opened want their phone ASAP otherwise they would have just placed their order at normal hours the next day (except for the jet black most models still have 2 - 3 weeks estimates even if you preorder today). So my point is - if you're getting it on the 16th or during launch week it's somewhat hypocritical to tell everybody else to just chill about their late deliveries.

Has anyone here pre-ordered using the iPhone Upgrade Program (for the first time), in "Preparing for Shipment" and NOT seen a charge on their credit card for the first month's payment? The only charge I've seen so far is a debit from Citizens One and then an immediate credit from them for the same amount. That disappeared yesterday.

I love the post-preorder threads so much, every year. People complaining about not getting it on launch day. Further complaining about how Apple is doing them a disservice by not giving it to them sooner. Speculation and attempts to boost their shipping dates.

Then complaints from others complaining about those complaining, calling them entitled, impatient, etc. More complaints calling the launch-day people stuck up and trying to rationalize their impatience over a phone. Cycle continues, despite a month or so from now, everyone will shut up and happily have their phones and literally none of this will matter.

Then of course there's the people like me who get entertainment from it all :D Every. Single. Year.

I just got off phone with Apple rep. She politely stated that due to the color of my iPhone, jet black, there was nothing she could do to expedite the November delivery. Did the friend thing, and also that son wanted to take phone on trip mid October. Jet black phone supplies are simply exhausted so improvement was impossible.

Suspect if you have received improvement it was already going to ship in that time frame anyway. Think November times for Jet Black are yet to be built phones.

Jesus Christ dude, all that just to get your phone sooner. Relax. You will get your phone eventually.

It's become a ritual, a holiday, like Christmas, thanksgiving, Halloween. Tradition to be observed, rituals to uphold.

Thank you. Honestly that sounds fantastic- and I couldn't agree more. Especially with all the stress Apple customer support must currently be under, such honesty makes everything on their end much easier too.

I had a few major jobs to get out on my computer and wanted to make sure there was no issues with my CC so I put the phone on speaker and listened to hold music for nearly 3 hours.

When the lady answered I told her the truth and made her laugh....a lot. I got my questions answered and placebo or not, got expedited shipping pushing it from 9/27 to 9/20.

The most important thing is that I got to make someone laugh on what had to have been a long stressful day.

I'll get my new phone when I get it, in the meantime I am using my wife's 6+ work phone to stretch out some pockets, lol!!!

Didn't expect any improved commitment at this point. Just wanted to confirm that if you have a nebulous promise like November, minus any actual dates. Your phone is not in the build que yet, which is usually 4 to 6 weeks in a manufacturing setting.

If you have an actual date range then your phone is scheduled to ship from built stockpiles or in the manufacturing schedule.

Don't worry, I'm not in least bit stressed. I find this all entertaining. My iPhone 6s Plus is working flawlessly and I'm in no hurry. It's interesting to see the misconceptions people have of how things work. Manufacturing, scheduling, shipping, etc. shoot I could be wasting my time listening to Trump and Hillary. Instead I come on here to be entertained.

Back for another year of airplane shipment manifesto stalking.

I stuck with my same (apparently boring now) choice of gold, I've never been fond of the front bezel being black. So it's not really a surprise that I managed to get a launch-day date since apparently everyone else wanted jet black/black.

Preordered at 2:12 CST (when the store finally loaded for me), confirmation email received at 2:26 CST, status changed to Preparing for Shipment sometime since yesterday when I last checked it. 7+, 128GB, Gold, AT&T. Delivery date of 9/16.

I am not impatient like others here, but not happy that when I went to place my upgrade order on 9th after site came up the only color choice I had for all stores in my state was rose gold. I wanted matte black. I went with the rose gold, but would prefer matte black but no chance of that.

"Expedited shipping" is the Devil I say,

I've been seeing these posts on here, so I figured that I'd share my experience too.

I started off trying to order at Apple.com at 2:59 am. It wouldn't do anything until 3:11.
I finally got my black Verizon 128gb, 7 plus order going, but it had some issues verifying my account with Verizon.
I then got a message saying not to worry because they had one reserved for me to be delivered on Sept 16th. Somehow I didn't trust that, so I started the order all over. I never got the email confirmation for the reservation either.

Anyway, this time I got verified ok and still had a Sept 16th delivery date!
I was putting in my payment and the delivery date had changed to Sept 27th I think. I was half asleep so I can't remember exactly. I then noticed an option for expedited shipping for $10. Like a half-asleep fool, I clicked on the option. Wow, then my delivery date changed to Oct 4th -10th and the optioned disappeared!

I called Apple about this. After a two-hour hold she said that there isn't supposed to be any expedited shipping option and that the other reps needed to stop telling people that there was.

From past multiple years of doing this, Apple wants to ship as many iPhones as quickly as possible to as many people as possible. While asking doesn't hurt, it actually doesn't help either. It more of feeling like you have a bit of control, when in reality you don't. Quoting a week earlier delivery time is simply taking out any float that was in the quote to begin with and would have be done automatically if at all possible.

Anyone that got an improvement, may now be disappointed if their is the slightest bit of hiccup and the date slips. By design Apple provided the for sure date first, always intending to improve on it if at all possible. Apple does not have any reason to delay shipping product that is available.

Interestingly, what other phone receives this much attention upon release. The excitement and anticipation is something other manufacturers would love to have. In effect marketing by the consumers. Free every year.

Exactly. From an accounting perspective, Apple can't count a pre-order as revenue until the phone is out the door. They have zero reason not to ship as many phones as humanly possible right now.

I will suggest that if anyone is experiencing late october ot november dates. You can be sure that by mid october or check in weekly there will be these phones in stock at some or other location. Even last year week after launch i showed up to costco and picked up another 6s and they had stock. Which is not advertised.

Keep eye open at apple stores, bestbuy instore shipments, etc.

I had the same thing. However I do have a pending charge from apple for the Tax of the phone now but still nothing from Citizens. I also got an email from citizens with my loan info and how to set up my account.

I get that people want their phone as soon as possible, but jeez, calling to get it expedited and staying on hold for hours?? I'm sure the phone you have will do you for the next couple of weeks until your phone arrives, it's not the end of the world for cripes sake. And yes, mine is due the 16th, but I did wait for 3 weeks last year, and the year before for my plus model. Que the pitchforks and fire breathing dragons! lol

Here is my thought with AT&T Next and similar on other carriers, people getting their phones in mid or late October or November are making payments on a phone they do not have. This irritates me, my billing statement is on the 22 of each month and I probably won't have my phone until mid October (256gb Jet Black 7+) so that is 2 payments on AT&T next and no phone (except my current phone on the old 2 year contract, which changed to AT&T next 18 right after I preordered)

I don't think your plan changes at all until you get the phone and activate it.

I selected the jet black on the 7th 4:30 PM, and the date of delivery was October 10 through the 15th. Had second thoughts about scratches, so I canceled the order, and selected the gold color instead, and now it's going to arrive this Wednesday the 15th. Seems the jet black is in high demand and some of the other colors are not and will ship sooner. Those wanting the jet black, just hang onto your hat, it is going to be a while for some.

So
Just noticed on the my orders page it says it ships in 6-8 business days but is due for 27-29 delivery? I thought Apple overnighted the phones?
Sometimes it counts as being dispatched from the factory and other times the day before you get it, that's happened to me before with my 6+ but hopefully the dates are conservative and will get moved closer.
