Finally off the phone. One of my lines was not JoD, we managed to switch it to JoD and because it was different than the JoD upgrades I was doing it flew right through the system and I have a ship date of 9/15. Meanwhile my other 5 lines (including my own phone) are in limbo because they were already JoD. Rep told me it would take up to 24 hours for EIPs to arrive in my email. Huzzah! Excellent rep, crap system. How, 9 years into the iPhone era, can companies still be taken unawares by the preorder madness? This is ridiculous and when/if I wake up tomorrow I'm going to go yell at someone. Any suggestions on where I should start because the reps I've talked to have (for the most part) been extremely helpful and almost way too perky.

So my rep was able to process my order after about 45 minutes. She ended up rebooting her system, called me back, and processed it as an upgrade since the whole jump/JOD system is down. Maybe it'll work you you guys.
 
I just don't get it how they managed to digress in this whole process. lol They go thru all this every time. They know what needs to be done and how stressful it is on their systems and yet I'm worse off this year than every year. I have been on the phone with a person since 1159 pst and he hasnt been able to get thru the system. He rebooted and everything. I'm still sitting here almost 1.5+ hrs and no order. sigh. I seriously hate this company more each time lol

I ordered the 7+ 256GB Black on JOD. It went through pretty quick. Got the EIP almost immediately. Ship date says 9/19-9/26. Hopefully, that's just a place holder until they can assign actual phones to the order. I called 611 from my phone at 0100MST

Could someone please explain to me why I have a $149 down payment on the 128GB 7 Plus when the price of the phone is only $19 more than the 64GB 6s Plus I'm currently using with Jump on Demand? Am I missing something?

so part of me is amazed. and extremely skeptical

The process was painless to preorder a 256 gb jet black. Unlike years past (5s, 6, 6s Plus) the EIP came without any problem. Signed without any problem. With a delivery date of the 16th per the representative? First batch???

I am so afraid right now given the last years. But if they got their act together kudos
 
Most software systems like this are a complete house of cards, even on a normal day. I feel bad for the reps (and us!)

I'm confused too. I have a 64gb 6+ and I'm going to a 128gb 7+ which are both the mid tier option so why the $149 fee???

Seems to be the case, my rep said JoD orders have to go through a different system which may take up to 24 hours to process (goodbye launch day party) and while I have confirmation numbers for all my orders I don't have EIPs for them... yet... if ever.

Just spoke to another rep again and he told me the exact same thing. He said their systems are just getting hammered right now for JoD orders, and would try calling me back in about 2-3 hours after things get back up again. He was super awesome and easy to talk to. He said at one point there were 10,000 customers in the queue and only 7,000 of them to answer. So we'll see...I think it's back to bed for now.

Yep, and the entire reason I switched from Jump to JoD was to avoid future down payments on similar priced phones when I upgrade. I'm also on the hook for paying all the taxes up front, something that I also thought didn't happen with JoD.
