Data point - Was able to get connected with David from Art Lucero's office. SUPER friendly and extremely helpful. He was able to get our JoD orders processed right away, and said with any luck they should be prioritized in the first batch. So while I wouldn't recommend abusing this, if you had issues with your JoD order this morning, and had a rep tell you you could only do it in store, etc, maybe reach out to Art on Twitter and he should be able to connect you with somebody on his team.

Regardless, T-Mo really needs to work to update their internal system for their reps, be it at lower level, or on the executive team (David was still having issues this morning with mine, despite systems having been back up, but it did finally go through, got Equip Agreements signed, etc). I feel so bad for their reps. Maybe that could be the next Uncarrier, having systems for their reps that actually work, lol.

My phone is ordered but I still need to rant. Seriously why are the dates already slipping. For the Plus models. It's been the same for the past three years. The Plus gets sold out and all they have is the regular. You would think they would make more Pluses. Also how does T-Mobile run out so fast anyway? I could see At&t or Verizon they have to supply their store, and stores like Bestbuy, Target, Walmart etc. Where is T-Mobiles inventory going. Geesh

Because they have supply shortages and the factories can't make as many iPhones.

T-Mobile has stores to stock as well, just like the rest of the carriers.

Demand is high, people want the new new.

Anyone know why my Order Status shows a $20 Upgrade Support Charge? What's the point of paying for Jump! if I have to pay an upgrade fee. I thought T-Mobile was the "Uncarrier". Either way, I'm trying to reach a rep to discuss and potentially a supervisor. For those of us that were on the phone at 12:01am pst and received someone immediately yet show a shipping date of November (especially as a Jump! member for 3 years), this is unacceptable.

yeah i was told the $20 upgrade fee started last month? my rep said that while she couldn't waive it on the order, she was able to credit $20 to my account- ill take that .. but then its like why am i paying for Jump!? im still on the OG version and have been thinking if i should cancel that and just put AppleCare+ on the phone instead

Just want to say for perspective that even with 3 years of stressing and watching this thread for a week every year, and calling in and website crashes, that I have never NOT gotten my phone at launch when I preordered first thing. Even last year with all the mixups with phone ordering. I would say that the majority of us will be ok.

It seems like the people who actually called 10-15 minutes early to upgrade had smooth transactions and the ones who actually called "on time" at 3:00am got screwed over....

iPhone 7+32go black ordered! Was difficult but I made it! I switched to T-Mobile recently so this is a first one for me. I have some questions that perhaps you can help me answer.
I can see they will be shipping the iphone 7 to my address but I would have love/preferred a pick up in a T-Mobile store. Is it possible and if yes how can I modify my order to change the shipping to a pick up?

The I'm trading my iPhone 6 towards the iPhone 7. How will this work? There was no mention at the order of that possibility. Do I have to go to a store and drop the 6 when I receive the iPhone 7? Anyone has any idea on how T-Mobile will ask us to proceed for the trade in?
Thank you,

JOD customers... these are the emails you can expect from T-Mobile after your order...
From bottom to top...
#1. Email with link to sign your EIP.
#2. Confirmation and copy of signed EIP
#3. Order confirmation with ship dates and order numbers to check status at http://my.tmobile.com
#4. Reminder to turn in old device to T-Mobile retail store by 10/9/16

This is funny...I got the 10/9 email too but my ship date is in 10/26-11 something lol

Funny enough I called in about 10 minutes early thinking I would get into the queue. The rep immediately answered and said JOD customers can't order now. I said I'm a Jump! customer not JOD and was hoping to place my order at 3:01am. She disconnected me...

Yep, I just noticed the exact same thing. Screw them if they think I'm going to send my phone back without a new phone present. My big question for us Jump! people is when our phones are delayed like it seems they may be, when we continue paying our $30 a month toward the phone is it now going toward the new one or the old one that we've already hit our 1 year mark on? If the old one then that means I won't hit the 1 year mark on the new phone by the time next year's iPhone pre-order goes up...

Question:

If I were to go to a T-Mobile store today, could I make a reservation for a 7 and arrange to pick it up there, or are they only accepting reservations online?

I honestly hope that John goes online and issues some sort of apology for all of us who got up and wasted our time and energy in the middle of the night only to basically have nothing to show for it ...

And gives us something to show for it...a bill credit...something

What a nightmare...I called them at 2:50am and got through immediately (good sign). People on the phone were really nice and helpful. After waiting about 55 minutes on hold I was told that the JOD system was down and I could not place my order. I was told that the moment the system came back up I would receive a call back and could not hold because it was a company wide outage. I ended up calling back and got the same answer from someone else at about 4:00am. I then went to sleep and never got any calls back.....I woke up at about 6:55am and called them back...at that point I was able to place my order and get everything finalized and was told there was no delay in shipping at that time (delivery on the 16th).

I then log into my account after signing the EIP and find that my ship date is 10/25 - 11/11 ......

I am so disappointed with T-Mobile right now....

This is why I never preorder with tmo. I found a hidden tmo store that I go to right as it opens and get generally whatever i was looking for. been doing this for 3 years. The trick is to find a tmo inside a mall because the mall opens early for cleaning and the tmo gets to open early because of that so they can sell their new products early. So I go to a mall with an empty parking lot and walk into tmo. The most people I have had to wait behind was 3 and 1 was buying a phone for every hispanic person in their family so like 33 or something. there was 5 family members with him and they all bought their limit. Fortunately I was able to go around them to the other registers and be out in like 30 minutes. With the 6 launch when they changed the screen size I was one of 4 (i think people) and 3 open registers. As soon as I walked in one walked out and I traded in my 5S and walked out like 15 minutes later.

Thats the trick with tmo, don't preorder just find a quiet mall and go to the tmo inside of it as soon as it opens (usually 8am around here on launch day). I only once didn't get exactly what i wanted and I ended up going with the 128gb instead of the 64gb. No big deal.

Maybe it's the region your in. I'm just reading about all these people who called between 3-3:10am and had problems similar to last year (long wait times, freezing systems, contradictory information regarding JOD upgrades) and people who called 10-15 minutes early who had smooth transactions...

how would he prove we called. I was on hold for 40 minutes without ever talking to a real person before I just gave up and decided to do my normal go to the mall early and hit up the hidden tmo store and just hope they have jet black

Yes. It's really unfortunate. I'm sure some people rolled out of bed at 6am and were able to order without issues, since that's around when their system came back up. But the people who got up early and planned it out got screwed.

Call them back! I was in a similar situation and my original orders disappeared.
Thanks for the info.
So my TMO order saga:
Called them at 12:02 got in right away no problems. Talked tot he rep to get my order placed. She said their systems were freezing and would not my order go through. She tried multiple times. She said she would reboot her system and call me right back. She called 30 minutes later but still the same issue. She said she would call me back again and she did 2 hours later. Now I have been up most of the night by this time as it is 3:30 She call me and assures me my order will be processed and i will receive and email for the EIP and a text from her in a few minutes.
Then nothing....until i called back this morning and was able to get an order placed. Now my estimated ship date is 9/27 to 10/10
I might try a TMO store next Friday to get the iPhone 7 Plus 128GB matte black and cancel my order if I can get one locally.
