This thread is golden! So. Much. Chaos. And this is just the beginning!

There are gonna be A LOT of disappointed people waiting on callbacks at 12:01 AM PST.

And please, please, please don't pre-order you phone via DM on Twitter. T-Force takes awhile to get back to you, so you're risking having your device on backorder going that route. Also, remember to take what these reps are telling you right now with a grain of salt--as you can see from reading this thread, you'll get MANY different answers to the same question. Unfortunately, this trend will continue even after you've pre-ordered your iPhone(s).

Let the shenanigans begin!!

I'm so confused by all of this. I've never attempted the online pre-order before. I recently purchased a Note 7 with my jump option and will be returning it due to recall and purchasing an iPhone 7. Some reps are saying I can't pre-order online and that I can only come into the store after release to purchase and do the swap, while others are saying I shouldn't have any problem pre-ordering. But since I used my jump I'm not sure if it will even still work. Way too many factors involved.

So you are saying I can pay off my JOD of $180 give them my 6s+ 64gb. Add $220 for a total of $400 and get a 7+ 128 free and clear.

Vs.

Keeping JOD. Pay $28 a month let's say for a year till iPhone 8 (12months) $336, I do not know if I have to put anything down. Plus if there is a S version in 6 months I can jump to that. Is this not a better way to go?

Thoughts?

FYI.
If you call or get it at the store you will be charged a $20 upgrade fee.

Hello! if you purchase a iPhone 7 32 GB on EIP and trade in a fully paid off iPhone you will get the iPhone 7 for free (Via monthly bill credits) If you want the iPhone 7 plus you get the phone for ◦$120 when trading in your iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, 6, or 6 Plus. If you want a larger memory size than a 32GB the cost of the new iPhone will increase by an additional $100 for 128GB and $200 for 256GB. •You can review the promotion details at https://explore.t-mobile.com/promotional offers. As far as the $20.00 assisted service charge, if you do call into customer care or go into a store this fee will be charged, if you were to go online and do the pre order than the fee will not be charged. If you open your T-Mobile App it will allow you to Pre Register for the Pre order, once you are able to pre order you will get a notification with a link that will direct you to the T-Mobile website to place your order. *LacyC

Best advice because I've done this 2 years in a row. Literally wake up whenever 12 pst is in your area, call them and pre order, go back to sleep, wake up with an email confirmation, sign your eip, wait on your phone. Profit.

How long is the wait on hold usually? Did you receive yours on day 1?

Just spoke to a rep via chat who was refreshingly honest.
22 minute wait there btw, much easier to sit through than the phone.

He said the company is still putting the details together for Jump upgrades, so people should check back later today for updated info. They simply don't know yet.

Also confirmed that those of us who have Jump eligibility later than 9/9 (9/11 for me, for instance) are safe to pre-order via Jump tonight once they figure Jump out. We will be accommodated for the gap in time.

I have talked to yet another rep, trying to get a call back scheduled, and this one says (after conferring with her supervisor) that the JoD program will be available on the website at midnight my time (eastern) and that the call center is scheduled to go live at midnight my time as well. Since I'm doing six lines though she said I will have to do each one as a separate order... so some of my phones might get in on launch day and some might not... yeehaw! Nevertheless, this is the second of three calls I've made where the rep confirmed repeatedly that as a JoD customer I will be able to make my order online at my t-mobile tonight at midnight eastern time... I hope they're correctly informed about all this because I'm beginning to remember the mess it was last year. I think I've blocked it all out of my memory due to the pain and anguish that were involved.

You think tmobile would pull an uncarrier move for preordering ;-)

Yes, pretty much.
It's a decent deal.

Can we do JoD online however? I never had an upgrade fee with JoD even in store.
Two of the three reps I have spoken to have said quite plainly that JoD customers will be able to do our upgrades at the mytmobile website. With the third rep I asked every way I could imagine to determine if we were talking about the same thing, as best I could tell, we were.

How are people getting a call back scheduled? 3 reps and no one seems able to figure it out this afternoon.

The free upgrade for paid off iphones...is that free and clear ownership of a new iphone 7? or subsidized through monthly payments/a contract over two years? I keep hearing different things.

Just my two cents...

I upgraded to the 6S Plus last year with a Jump on Demand upgrade. Called in right around 3AM EST and was on hold for about 20 minutes. They took a credit card for my down payment (64GB model) and then I went back to sleep. The EIP email came later the next day. Phone came on launch day. Pretty painless and I'll be doing the same again this year (128GB Jet Black, and I think I'm going back to the 4.7" phone).

You get a bill credit for the monthly payment each month for 24 months, so if you cancel early, you will be responsible for the balance that is left. If you complete the 24 month contract you will only pay for service, not the device.
