hate to say it, but the omission of the headphone jack is a dealbreaker for me for multiple reasons.
I own several pairs of headphones from my daily driver Urban Ears to my Shure and AKG studio cans.
I also am pretty much always carrying my DSLR. While this may seem unrelated, what it brings to bear is that I am unwilling to carry any additional gadgetry in order to adapt, power or charge a headphone solution.
Why fix what isn't broken?
This silly design choice is going to force me to buy a 6S now and milk it for as long as possible, instead of waiting until fall to get a 7.

Btw, I really don't care about all your Samsung phones. Why are you even commenting here? Do you go to Mustang forums to talk about your Camaro as well?

But you have to remember one things. Its going to happen eventually, so with your thinking, if not now for your set up, when ? Someone next year will complain once again about the port, and the next year after that as well. Bight the bullet and do it now or you can milk your current or 6s out as long as you can, and then you will still have to do it.

Would be nice if no headphone jack debutted on the plus or pro model first... (cause better hifi) and gauge whether masses are accepting.

More battery life
AMOLED display
Reduced bezels (not edge-to-edge though) and losing the physical button
Keeping the headphone jack
Waterproofing (but keeping the sound level and vibrancy the same on the speaker unlike the Samsung S7)

That would be my five.

What happened to the S7 speaker with waterproofing? It sounds muddled?

I think all those are reasonable and right. But there is more than that... in Apple quality and quantity is a question of "when" not "if".

I was on the Samsung forum and you are right about the muddled sound. But that was just until it dried out. A number of posts regarding this on their forum.

Agree on:
As for the smart connector, I really don't see the point. Those ideas that you put out sound great, but I really don't see the reason why they can't just use the Lightning connector for those things. Make a Lightning 2.0 if you have to.

All of those things the poster mentioned would certainly work with Lightning but it gets in the way and stick out of the bottom of the phone. Smart Connector is a sleek way to provide a connection for those kinds of things.

If there is no headphone port...and the phone is not completely waterproof (only acceptable trade off imo), I'll be jumping ship to Samsung for the first time since the iPhone 4.

Yet another leak of the iPhone 7, this time it seems to be more legitimate because this guy is the same person who leaked the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. I think this design is looking good and i for one will be getting the iPhone 7 Plus/Pro, i think the addition of a dual camera and a 256GB option will make it a very good upgrade.
The removal of the headphone jack will be for a reason probably for waterproofing or maybe to make it thinner but there will certainly be a reason why Apple are doing it. I'm looking forward to Septembers event :):D

haha have fun. And why are people so eager about waterproofing? It wouldn't change anything about how I use iPhone.

Back to topic; I want more PPI. That's the only thing bothering me, I don't want to see pixels.

The scuttlebutt was that the sound is affected even when the phone is dry.

Going from s6 to s7, sound fidelity went down by many accounts. Hopefully, Apple will do it right...when they do.

Yes, for my after I submerge my S7 Edge it takes a good half a day before the speaker is usable again for audio. If it just gets splashed it isn't usually effected.

Many people get outside every now and then. Canoeing, Kayaking, Rafting, water parks, playing with your kids at the pool, going to the beach, etc. Do you really never do any of those things? With a waterproof phone, you can do all of those without having to think about protecting your phone by getting a waterproof case or putting it in a bag.

I just hope Apple "FINALLY" gives is a camera that works great in lower level lighting, I get sick of going to events at night and see people with Galaxy phones take great pictures and can zoom clearly while the iPhone sucks at low light still and when zooming the picture gets so grainy.

With what seems to be the end of the tick-tock redesign cycle (given that the big design update will come next year rather than this year), it doesn't make sense to brand September's phone the "iPhone 7," when it will really just be another updated 6.

I expect that this year Apple will abandon the numerical naming, and we will instead have a new "iPhone" and "iPhone Pro" to go along with the iPhone SE.

I'm disappointed that the current form factor will remain. I still have my fingers crossed that Apple will do something to shrink the size of the phone via smaller bezels, or at least give us the practical ability to use it without a case by not coating it in the slipperiest materials known to man.

I probably won't upgrade from my 6s unless it's a huge update. I don't care how it looks so much as the features because I use cases.I hope the battery is improved for the standard model, but I doubt it will be. There seem to be a lot of rumors for the 2017 model that make it seem interesting.

Hi,

According to this Macrumors's article "Nomura Securities also believes that Apple will include optical image stabilization (OIS) on both the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone, whereas the feature has been exclusive to the larger iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus over the past two generations." link: Apple Turns to LG as Sony Falls Behind on Dual-Lens Camera ...

I do hope this is true as this is one of the features that I'd like to see when the 4.7 inch iPhone debuts this September.
