Welcome!

Here's what we know right now:

* The exact issue is your phone will drop off LTE and bounce between 1x/3G. You probably won't go back to LTE without going to Airplane Mode and back. If you're using VoLTE, your call will drop as well.
* SIM swaps and device swaps don't do anything
* 10.0.2 (new general release) and 10.1 beta 1 do not fix the issue
* Verizon has a ticket number that you can reference ticket 102095-091716 - call 611 and add yourself
* Turning off VoLTE (Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data > Data Only) helps control dropped calls, but not data dropping to 1x/3G
* The problem is worse when you're moving between towers (esp. in a car), but can happen staying in one place
* The most current carrier version is Verizon 25.1
* The most current PRL is 15480
* The most current modem firmware is 1.00.04 (which is installed with 10.0.2)
* The 10.1 beta 1 uses Verizon carrier version 25.5 (which does not fix this problem)

This was amazing info thanks brother! Also I just notice my PRL is 15467 I see there is 15480 any way to be able to upgrade mine to 15480? I'm sure it does nothing my my OCD kicks in.

Your PRL will update on its own periodically... you used to be able to force it, but not anymore.

The PRL or "preferred roaming list" controls networks on the older 1x and 3G CDMA networks. LTE is a different beast.

They told me the ticket number was no good too
That sucks... that was the ticket number posted earlier in this thread. I'll remove it unless someone else has a new case number to reference.

My wife and I spent most of the day driving around various Colorado Springs neighborhoods today, using Google Maps, etc.

Both of our phones constantly went from LTE to "No Service" or 3G/1x. They would rarely switch back to LTE on their own after losing LTE. Toggling airplane mode on/off sometimes fixed the problem, sometimes not. On 2 occasions I had to reboot my phone to get a usable data connection back.

This is getting REALLY old. I really wish we had never upgraded to the iPhone 7 and would have just stuck with out iPhone 6S phones on iOS 9, but we've already sent the 6S phones back to Verizon (monthly installments - annual upgrade).

I am seeing this same loss of service issue (no service, 1x, 3g, ...) with my iPhone 7 on Verizon and anxiously await a fix. For now I find a reboot gets me back to LTE.

So is it a Verizon only thing or the 1660/1661 model phone with any carrier sim?
Best I can tell, it's by carrier, but that's just an educated guess, not a fact.

We do know T-Mobile was affected by something similar, but T-Mobile released a carrier version 25.2 that solved the issue: http://www.techtimes.com/articles/1...-fix-for-t-mobile-users-no-more-blackouts.htm

You probably don't need to reboot -- when I get kicked down to 1x/3G, airplane mode for a few sec, and then out of airplane mode is enough to get it back.

Just a heads-up for those having issues getting Verizon to pull up the issue number.

The "Issue Tracking" number 102095-091716 is valid. It's NOT a "ticket number". They file tickets for individual problems and ticket numbers use a different format. The "issue tracking" number is from their technical forum database where they track more widespread issues when problems are being reported by multiple customers.

You need to call 611 and ask for tier 2 technical support and explain that this is a widespread issue and that it is being tracked in their issue tracking system under the number 102095-091716.

Just had a bout of no service out of nowhere. Took the phone out of my pocket and it instantly went blank, then to 3G. Took 2 minutes on its own to pick up LTE again. This is terrible man.

We gotta get this noticed by macrumors or ignore staff so they do an article front page or get in touch with the carrier higher ups.

Updating my posts... thanks for that.

I thought I heard Apple gloating over Samsung's note 7 problem. Looks like the shoes on the other foot now. Almost picked one of these up. Damn am I glad I didn't. Hope it gets sorted soon tho.

This is the second time today I pulled the phone from my pocket, refreshed the Tapatalk app and instantly had it drop to no service, then 1x then 3G. It's almost like any kind of call for data causes it to happen.

Just to add, im in the NJ/NYC area. Dropped twice while driving today and listening to Apple Music (streaming)

Lame.

Just realized that even though it says I have 2 dots of LTE, I really have no connection at all. I'll go awhile with no notifications and then all of a sudden, boom I get a bunch, some of which are old. This is really getting annoying.

It looks like you have it very bad... Have you been to the apple store and let them know about the problem?

You guys have twitter? Retweet this for me!
