Only a matter of time until Verizon executives start dropping off LTE. Basking Ridge, NJ isn't too far away from NYC.

I drive through it on my way home from work right down route 78. That's where I've been having my drop offs. Their HQ in Bedminster is the hill/mountain where my service cut out the other night.

Heh... if the lights are on, the engineers haven't been allowed to go home yet.

Here's the fix from Reddit:
"Called verizon tech services to discuss this further, a technician named Vince was super helpful and was able to help me to a solution. Below are the two things we did:

Reset network settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings).
On Verizon's side we found that my account was provisioned for HD Voice, Advanced Calling (two different provisions for the same feature), and WiFi Calling. We removed all three and turned on HD Voice and WiFi Calling. -- the technician then said he sent a command to sync my phone with the network."

We've all tried the network settings reset but not the others which are server based. It's worth a shot.

lol I wouldn't even know how to explain what this means to the technician...someone give it a shot though.

This may hold weight.

On my iPhone 6 I originally signed up for this as "Advanced Calling" months ago. I had to go into the account and manually add the feature. Now it looks like they are calling it "HD Voice". So you're saying there could be two different settings/activations for this on the account? I logged into my Verizon and was able to turn off HD calling. Then made sure wifi calling was not enabled on the phone. There is no setting for us to enable/disable wifi calling on the account. Just for kicks, I turned off HD Voice and let it sit. I then reset network settings and I'm going to go back in soon and re-enable it on the account and then on the phone and see what happens on the drive home. Then when i get home, I'll have a vzw rep do as posted above on the account themselves.

Any reason why my wifes phone would say under Network: Verizon and mine says Verizon Wireless ? Both running the same iOS Version.

Mins says Verizon Wireless.

After re-enabling the HD voice on the account, my signal dots went from 1-2 to 2-3. Hmmmm here's hoping for the best for the ride home.

So you disabled and reenabled on your account? Just to confirm.

On the phone, set it to LTE data only. Went to Verizon's website, turned off HD Voice on the account. Then turned off wifi calling on the phone.

Then reset network settings. After 15 mins (time they say may be needed for network/account adjustment) i logged back on Verizon's website and added HD voice to the account. Then turned LTE data and voice on the phone and turned wifi calling on.

I'll see what the drive home yields for me. I'll run google maps and if I still get dropouts, I'll do this same thing through the rep.

When this happens while I'm on wifi (keep in mind my house is right in between two cell sites) - I try to send iMessages and they do not go through when I loose signal. Takes about a minute or two. Cannot receive messages either. Strange part is that I'm on wifi and wifi assist is turned off

Still don't understand why this hasn't made headlines yet.

How'd you turn off HD Voice on the website. Not seeing an option to change ...

BTW, I've always had WiFi Calling OFF.

I can chime in and add that I'm also experiencing this issue. I've probably seen it 7 or 8 times already (got my 7 Plus on VZW on launch day). It definitely seems to happen more often in the car, though I have seen it walking around as well. I think there probably is some weight to a handoff issue with the different frequencies in these LTE spectrums.

I'll stay tuned to see if this new fix (related to account provisioning HD Voice, Advanced Calling) is really a true fix :)

So far, I don't recall the last time I had a dropout while here at work today. Usually only get one dot of LTE when the phone is in my pocket. In now holding a steady 3 right after removing it from the pocket. This is similar to my iPhone 6.

Also just double checked with my field test mode and OpenSignal. My phone is now using a closer, different tower than the one I was on earlier in the day. Hopefully a good sign.

It's also using band 2 now, not 4 as it was earlier.

I decided to try this solution as well. Thankfully doesn't require too much effort! I will report back my findings over the next few days. I have 30 minute commutes to and from work so hopefully my experience in the car will be a good sample. I am a little doubtful as I think this may be a Qualcomm issue that Apple needs to address via a software update, but we shall see!

As I said in my PP, I have experienced this dropped 'No Service' issue 7 or 8 times at this point. With a hard reset (Volume down + Lock), or constant toggling of Airplane Mode, it has not affected me more than 5 minutes each time before I'm able to restore LTE connection. It is however a headache.

I don't have advanced calling on my settings so I decided to just turn off HD calling and giving it a shot by re enabling it
