Going to file a ticket under our Apple Enterprise account today. Also got in 4 more phones... SIM-free A1661. Will test them out, but pretty sure they're all going to do the same thing.

Does it seem safe to say this issue only exists in iPhone 7 models containing the Qualcomm modem (Verizon, Sprint) versus the Intel modem sold for all other carriers?

It's a good theory, but the only way to really test is to put a Verizon SIM into an AT&T iPhone.

In that test case, if you fall off Verizon LTE on an AT&T/Intel phone, you should see No Service, where the Qualcomm phones will drop to 1x/3G. That would make the problem specific to Verizon (carrier software, tower software, etc.).

If you never fall off LTE on an AT&T phone, that would mean it's a Qualcomm specific issue, although it could also be Verizon carrier software, tower software, etc.

Can't put the Verizon SIM into an AT&T phone, the new 7's don't come with the cdma built in. Only the Verizon specific model.

And I dunno guys. So far it looks promising for me. I'll let you know how the day goes for me.

Well the new fix is helpful in the sense I'm not dropping where I used to... but I still drop.

Before my commute had 3 drops, and today just one. Still infuriating

I couldn't stream my music. Kept dropping signal. I've only had Verizon for a month so it won't be painful to switch back to AT&T if I get the stability.

LTE is not CDMA

Bad news for anyone hoping that the HD Voice workaround will fix the issue...

I called Verizon last night and had them delete both the "Advanced Calling" and "HD Voice" features from my account (per the post/suggestion on Reddit). I then had the rep add "HD Voice" (only) back on my line.

I even did a full DFU restore of my phone last night (which is a complete re-installation of the software from scratch for those that aren't aware).

Driving to the airport this morning, I had Waze and Pandora running for about an hour. Unfortunately, I got the "no service" dropout twice for several minutes at a time (in areas where there is definitely service and where I've never had an issue with my 6S or any other iPhone before that).

So I don't think this workaround does anything unfortunately.

This...

Right now, I'm really just hoping it's not a Qualcomm issue but just a software one. Not being able to soft reset the cellular radios by toggling the LTE setting like previous iPhones can makes me really think it's more a software than hardware.

But for VZW not to catch this during testing is what's boggling my mind.

I'm definitely sending an email to the Verizon CEO and link our forum and see what they'll say about it. Anyone want to do the same? The more the better.

I know that. I've never heard of a Verizon phone running LTE only.

The Att or t mobile phone would just need to be unlocked. The above posters experiment would be correct to test if the chip is a problem.

The LTE bands are compatible so I'm not sure why a Verizon SIM wouldn't work in a GSM iPhone 7.

Verizon didn't even issue SIM cards before the LTE phones. From what I understand It's actually for their LTE network not CDMA anyway.

has anyone logged this with apple as well as Verizon?
[doublepost=1474911791][/doublepost]ok guys some good news:

just got a phone call followup from Verizon about this issue. they said over the past few days, the signal fluctuation issue has become more prevalent to them and are actively working on a fix. they stated they have two trouble tickets opened with apple on this and are actively working on a fix. there is no eta but its estimated to be sooner than later through a software fix.

the rep stated he was actually looking at this no service/1x/3G issue earlier today as there were a large number of people who called in about it. so I can say that Verizon and apple are DEFINITELY aware this is a widespread issue, and not just us and are actively working on a fix for us. they believe its an apple related software issue, not their network but are investigating.

My 7 is getting service but cannot connect to LTE Im only getting 3G.
Anyone else? Or all you guys only having service related issues.

Had this happen on my 7+ for the first time today. It dropped signal on the road while driving. Had to restart the phone to get LTE back.

Thanks for your efforts..I tried your fix this morning..no problems driving to work but been in office all day. Hoping no problems on way home. Glad you're keeping on this..please keep reporting your findings..much appreciated

I've been having this issue every day and it happens about x2 on my 30-minute commute.

I had my phone connected to my car's bluetooth as usual, but I was playing music over Bluetooth today as opposed to the iPod interface which I normally use. I noticed that my Bluetooth dropped out at the same time. So seems like ALL forms of wireless drop out at the same time which is really great...

My 6s was fine but as soon as I got the 7 on release day the problems started. Same thing everyone else is describing: LTE signal declines until it just loses it completely and resets at 3G and won't switch back to LTE until airplane mode is toggled. Multiple times a day this happens.
Being that it seems some 6/6s/6s+ used are experiencing this, would it be safe to assume this is software on Verizon's end and (hopefully) not our iPhone 7s?

So I just drove to work. Zero issues on the way in. Same results as last night. Nearly full signal LTE most of the highway trip. Zero drops, no 3G or 1X. In fact I'm now sitting in the parking garage where yesterday I had two dots, now I have full signal LTE. So my case has definitely improved.

Glad to hear!! What have you done??

Guys try the fix again. I'm having luck with it and I've done no software updates.

I'm now inside work, concrete building, and have a solid 2-3 dots whereas yesterday it fluctuated between 1-2 and dropped a lot to 3G.
