I could do that or ask Apple to swap it and get a better a case

I believe that your camera lens came contaminated from factory as it is really not easy for dust to enter into the camera unit in our day to day usage.. Therefore, a case will not help in your situation if your replacement was already dusty to begin with

It is highly possible that dust were already in the unit, just not in the position that's visible... Either that or you need to really clean up your place. If you look at teardown videos, it's pretty hard for any dust to get into the camera compartment.. Plus the phone is rated IP67 so dust are supposed to be trapped in or outside.. Of course, there's also a possibility that you might have gotten a defective unit

The dust can be inside the phone before it is sealed up. That is likely what is happening here.
I will have to play the exchange game till I find a perfect one

I doubt she would know the ins and outs of a device prior to it being in her store to be honest. What version of iOS 10 are you running?
10.0.2

Not necessarily. Software is complex and a bug may show up on some devices and not others.

Quit worrying about it and just use your iPhone. Opening and closing an app repeatedly isn't normal usage, it's nit picking and just looking for problems.

Mine (IP7) does it but it's definitely a software bug. In fact, I have a theory of what causes it. The dock colour is semi transparent, so when you open an app and then close it, its just a little bit of lag from the colour of the app that was opened blending in with the dock colour. Then when the opacity of the dock kicks in and it corrects itself, it causes the flicker. Not sure if that makes any sense but that's my theory - the flicker is basically just colour correction to account for the dock's transparency. Definitely software related.

and if you do not find the perfect iphone?

I know you will keep trying. This iPhone must be a very important position for you.
I want a perfect iPhone with no defects at all and I really want to get a life proof case so this issue with dust don't reappear

No it's an iPhone 7 on iOS 10.0.2. I had a 6S previously on iOS 10.0.2 that did it as well.

Maybe it depends the color of the phone it only affect certain colors or batches of the phone

LOL. The OS doesn't perform differently based on colour of phone.. It performs based on the SoC and PowerVR GPU.. just wait for it to be fixed in next update (if they fix it)

After they replace my 6 sept 2015 input in life proof case and no dust appeared till the 6s plus
[doublepost=1476369099][/doublepost]
I tired a 6 and other iPhone 7 and it does not do it

For me a life proof case is way overkill. Ruins the phones feel and looks. Makes the screen hard to use and just overall too big. Still think you dust came inside your phone and a case will not help that.

I know you got to do what you are going to do. The Apple store should not give you any problem about replacing your phone if it has dust in the lens. Hope they have one in stock.

Let's say they never fix it Apple will have to swap it again

It does not matter with this phone as you are going to replace it due to dust on the camera cover.

Yes but I took two days to get a replacement and I can't return it since I did AT&T next plan for 24 months
