Interesting thought. I think a plus model is coming but not at the same time as this phone. Seems to be delayed but it's real as per JP

I think they'll replace both the 8 and 8 plus with this phone, treating the 8 series as one line. I don't see them keeping the 8 plus and dropping the 8, doesn't make sense to me

It’s definitely a weird situation, but I’m guessing they’ll keep it around for the few months left until the 9 Plus.

I think either of you could be right. We'll find out when the time comes!

If they release 9+ next year with a 7 year old design, it will actually start to become ridiculous. So i dont think they will

I agree 100%. Apparently, the 9+ is in production, but isn’t finished yet (Hence the delay). For it to launch next year, they’d have to stop production, restart it later, and be okay with shipping an A13 device when the chip would be well over a year old. I’d be very surprised if they did that, especially when it seems like it’ll be good to go pretty soon.

As for the announcement date, I’m still betting on next Tues or Wed (4/14 or 4/15).

Personally, as much as we all want to see this phone release, (given its price point and rumors that have been following for almost over a year now), if I were Apple, I would probably try to release the phone after the IRS starts injecting stimulus Money into consumer accounts. I say that, because that might be incentive for some to want to spend that money, even though I think the majority will probably invest/conserve it into their savings. It’s a strategic move if Apple waits, but then again, this phone is overdue from quite a few stand points.

We're not all in the US. I can see what you're saying though. Probably would make sense from a US stand point.

Where did you get that and also why would you even believe that. No way Apple would A10 in. That is just not happening for many many reasons. It would be DOA product from the start

Exactly. I was a bit surprised when I saw that users quote. Like Why would you say the A10 for the new 4.7 inch SE when it’s replacing the iPhone 8 which has the A11 lol

and if it was the A10 then I agree it would be a DOA Product from the start, there would be no point really, that’s why you have to look at the original SE’s specs compared to the 6S line to get an idea what this new SE will have compared to the 8 line😁

Any hope of an Apple smart battery case for this phone?
I'm assuming considering it's basically the same size it will fit into the 7 one, that's still selling on their website and also on Amazon. I'd watch amazon, I've seen it drop to $60 a few weeks ago.

I'm wondering...has anybody noticed if the apple.com Newsroom actually provides timely updates of new products? Like, what good is checking their Newsroom if we can just go to Apple.com and see if there are any announcements on their home page?

The Newsroom gets updated when the product is released, usually bang on the hour. It’s probably a good place to check as the posts give a fairly good overview of the product and things such as availability and prices all in one place.

It's not looking very likely this is coming this week either. Zero rumours now about a release date. Usually, there is something before a release but that's all died down.

If anyone sees that this phone is or is not compatible with the smart battery case, please let me know

Dude, its been always 15th so why do you say "zero"? Patience man ;-)
