My iPhone is so buggy it is basically unusable. I have the original 8GB iPhone. Here are the bugs that I am experiencing:
1. Random crashes - everyday. On average 2x per day.
2. Interface freezes during calls. I'll be on the phone and the interface just freezes. I can still talk to the person but no buttons work and the clock, call timer, etc. freeze. If I am leaving a message I can't hang up so they get a 4min message from me. The only way I can disconnect is a hard reset (i.e. hold down startup/shutdown button and home button simultaneously for 15sec.).
3. Delete key sticks. Sometimes when I am writing an e-mail and I hit delete it just keeps deleting as if I am holding it down. On a number of occasions this has deleted my entire e-mail and I have to re-write it.
4. Shows "This message has not been downloaded from the server" even though I know it has because I have already read it. The "Download the rest of this message" button at the bottom shows 0k to download, yet it never loads.
5. Battery life is significantly decreased. Due to speaker interference I can tell how much radiation it is emitting (communicating with tower via radio waves). In v1 of the OS it communicated periodically. Once every couple mins or so. Now it is constant. Therefore, it must be recharged every 4 or 5 hours.
I also have other problems such as it not downloading e-mail and reseting to the home screen when I am in another app e.g. Contacts or Mail. I can live with those minor issues, but as a phone that I trust for business and safety it must be replaced if I can't find a fix to these problems.
As an aside I purchased the 3G and experienced many of the same problems. It crashed over and over. I took it to the Apple store and it crashed twice while the manager was looking at it. They replaced it with a new one and it had many of the same problems. Luckily I hadn't sold my old iPhone yet. I returned the 3G (which made me very unhappy since I was really looking forward to having one) and went back to my old iPhone. This, only to find out it was the software all along.
My iPhone worked almost flawlessly when I first got it - like a phone should. This latest update reminds me of Mac OS 8 which crashed multiple times per day. However, this is a device that is essential to my safety and I cannot rely on it. Unless I can figure out why this is happening I must replace it with a normal phone like a Razor or whatever.
