Upper left, Hhmmmm! As I take my 3g 16 gig away from my ear, the screen comes up for a second, then goes black; put it near my ear and it comes up! Attempt to look at it (take it away from my ear) it goes black again. The home button becomes completely non-functional. Only the sleep, wake, on off will do anything. Usually, as yours, you loose or never are able to answer the call!

Only the left half of the email in the body displayed, and the right was blank, cutting off all graphics and text. The footer, however was displayed properly across the entire screen.
Strange.

When you try and play a music video along side regular music, turn the screen off using the sleep button at the top the video stops playing till you hit play again. But if you play a song before that video (heck even scroll to the last 5 seconds of the song lets say) the video still plays while the screen is off.
Drives me nuts that I cant just play a video along with my regular music playlist turn the screen off and have it keep going where as if I start off with a song it works just fine.
my iphone is fully charged, i turn it off, turn it back on after school, and battery level is 50%![]()
I got a "No Service" indicator in place of the signal strength bars the last time I put the iPhone in the cradle and a sync began. Powering off completely (not just putting to sleep) brought the network back to life.
ATT rep had no idea why this happened.
In the tips & tricks section, there's all kinds of advice about how to extend battery life.
So here's my problem: I've done a lot of those tricks and it really has extended my battery life. Usually the battery didn't get low till around midnight (and sometimes even then it was still more than 50%)
Last night I noticed my phone was warm to the touch, right where the battery is. It made me think one of the apps was running in the background, but I checked and everything seemed fine. Today I took my fully charged phone to work, and before noon it's already below 50%. WTF!?
(16G 3G iPhone)
Hi there.
I have a peculiar problem with my IPhone 3g 16G White, legally unlocked.
I don't know why this happens in the first place but here is the simptoms.
You try to open any app you have bought in app store and almost everyone will crash to the main screen again. If you try any of the original apps such as weather or stock they work fine. But if you try any other app it will crash again to the main screen. I tried reseting the IPhone, sync, ever restore, nothing worked
Until I found a workaround, if you delete an app, go to the app store and install it again, everything starts to work fine. I already sent an email to apple explaining the problem, they told me to go to a apple store and mark an appointment with a genius, I am going there next week. Lets see if he knows what's this.
Did anyone had the same problem?
I had a similar problem, and a friend suggested uninstalling an application and re-installing it. (Any app.) While that worked, it was awkward. Then I got the Free Memory app (v 1.4) that let you free up memory for applications.
I've had no problems since then. You might give that a try.

I just got an iPhone for Xmas and I'm having a problem with some calls going directly to voicemail. It's not all of time and there doesn't seem to be any way to predict it. Since I keep WiFi turned off much of the time, it shouldn't be an issue.
I've spent maybe six hours, if not more, troubleshooting this with AT&T and iPhone and it hasn't been resolved yet. We've tried the following:
Soft reset
Hard reset
Redoing the portage of my old T-Mobile number
Checking to see if call forwarding was an issue
Test calling when the bars were at levels 4 and 5
Testing my SIM in a Blackberry
Testing the Blackberry SIM in my phone
Replacing the SIM in the iPhone with a new one
Other fixes too numerous too mention
I have about 2 weeks to swap my phone before the 30 days are up.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Others have posted about this issue on the Apple support discussion forum but no concrete answers seem to be out there.
Any ideas or suggestions?
