The part where you said for most people 4.7" is enough. The sales of the XR says otherwise. 6.1" is the limit based on sales.

As mentioned above, there was no smaller option to the XR so that means nothing. I get what you’re saying, but had the SE and XR released at the same time with matched specs the SE would have taken a lot of the sales when prices below the XR.

The 8 wasn’t an option to anyone who wanted anything with modern specs in comparison to the XS and XR.

My SE has been in my city since the middle of the night and was set to deliver today, now it's changed to Clearance in Progress.

"We currently have the package. The receiver requested clearance by a non-UPS broker. / As requested, the package was transferred to a Free Trade Zone or a non-UPS broker."

:/

OK, so...big disappointment.

Firstly, the phone was not delivered by an Apple employee! I mean, I didn't expect Tim Cook to knock on my door. But no one with an Apple shirt or logo. C'mon!

So, given that it was the UPS driver, he didn't kneel and hold up the box on a silken pillow. He didn't even refer to me as "Your Majesty!" That was off-putting.

And finally, there was no trumpet fanfare. NO FANFARE! Not even a bugle playing reveille!

Oh, the phone? I'll let you know soon. ;)

Android don’t really offer small phones though... so if you want cheap what options do you actually have?

My statement was in reference to how well the SE seems to have sold during pre order. Wasn’t comparing it to android devices.
My point is price is a very big factor to the iPhone SE 2's popularity.

Unless Apple releases, say, a 5.5" iPhone SE Plus with same $399 price and specs as the 4.7" iPhone SE, you can't really say that the smaller SE was more popular because of size.

I never said it was more popular?! I said so far it seems to be selling well.

hence the SE has been so popular so far with pre-orders

Waiting on my red SE too.

It is beautiful! So glad I went with the red one.

Enjoy!

I just got my red SE. I also have a red 11. Maybe it's just me but I could swear that the SE red is a slightly darker shade than the 11.

It came with iOS 13.4 and is updating now to 13.4.1.

Yep, I have updated to 13.4.1, now restoring from my backup from earlier in the day. Glad it got there!

I might even set this one up as new, rather than restoring from a backup. I think my clone has been cloned too many times already, like in Aeon Flux.

Not entirely the same but my SE is also sitting somewhere in my city the whole day long. Import scan was recorded, but no clearance related activity. The scheduled delivery date is still today so who knows.... Apple, on the contrary, is showing mine is out for delivery though UPS clearly doesn't say the same.

My SE arrived this afternoon, very surprised as when I ordered, it said 30 April - 5th May delivery.

Tried to setup with iphone migration but failed.
SE is on iOS 13.4 and iPhone 7 Plus is on 13.4.1
Tried iCloud backup restore, but wouldn’t work as the backup is from a different iOS version.
Been trying various different things for hours, going to bed soon as getting fed up with it, going to try Apple support tomorrow.

iPhone migration should work... if not set up as new, update it, then restore to factory then migrate.

I have connected the SE to my network and tried to do a software update, but it keeps failing and I get the option to Cancel or Try Again, whatever I choose it doesn’t update or find a new version.

The only bit that I struggle with is iCloud Photo Library. The photos that were on my old SE of course transferred over to the new, and when I opened Photos on the new it appeared to be uploading 20,000 new photos and videos (!)

It probably wasn't necessary, but I just turned off iPL, opted to delete the photos, and it's redownloading. Probably be done by the morning. Tuesday morning. ;)

(Oh, and muscle memory can start learning. Several times already reached for the top of the phone to put it to sleep, lol!)

My 64GB white SE from Xfinity Mobile arrived a few hours ago. I’m still waiting for a Google Voice number to finish porting and service to get activated.

I mainly bought it as a small backup phone and the price was right. About $22 a month for phone and service, and then I also get $12 off my Comcast triple play because I have mobile service too. So it’s like $10 a month for phone and service.

The migration tool worked just fine for me. I forgot to update the SE before starting the tool but that was not a problem. The migration tool initiated and completed an SE update from 13.4 to 13.4.1 as part of the migration process.

I'm keen to learn what everyone's battery life is like after a few days! Loving this thread ( as a lurker)!

after roughly an hour of use, I am already adjusted to the size. Forgot just how nice it is to have a “phone” again.

I do keep swiping up from the bottom to go home though.
