The wait is killing me!!!! It's out for delivery and I'm not even at home 🙁
My partner kind of rolls her eyes at my anxiousness. Really, even I know it's going to be a mild upgrade to life. I'm just enjoying being giddy at getting new technology. I don't do that nearly as often as I used to. I'm sure once it's been delivered, and once I've got it updated, after a day or so it'll pass and I'll just be pleased (rather than ecstatic) with my new phone. But for now I'm letting myself feel really enthused.

So I'm working from home (finishing up my sixth week of self isolation). I know the UPS truck is near. In my neighborhood, we're getting new roofs put on all the units. And a half mile away they have torn up a major intersection and are redoing it (I can see them out my window). I hear and feel the vibrations of trucks ALL THE TIME, lol. ANY ONE OF THOSE COULD BE THE UPS TRUCK STOPPING IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE!

is it really worth getting? I mean not even a 5 inch display guys
For me, that's actually an advantage.

The 4" iPhones are around the limit of what I can comfortably operate single handedly.

The 4.7" iPhone requires some stretching and a looser/less secure grip but is mostly useable.

The 5.5" Plus and 6.1" Xr/11 are just way too big and I'd drop them all the time if I don't use two hands.

If you need a large screen then this isn’t the device for you. Most people in the real world don’t use their phones for movies or intensive gaming, so the 4.7” is more than enough, hence the SE has been so popular so far with pre-orders
Wait...you can play MOVIES on these things????? Next you'll be telling me you can record them, too!

I doubt it. Majority of cheap Androids are pretty big and those outsell iPhones in aggregate (units sold but likely not profits). The Moto E5 Tracfone I got for $40 with 1 year service has a 5.7" screen.

If smaller phones were more popular, we'd have more options for them. As it is, the iPhone SE2 is one of the smallest ones you can find still currently sold and I'm betting it's the best performing one among available options.

I'm still on my iPhone 7 Plus. It's been rock solid, but I've been itching for something new and up to date. I prefer the Touch ID instead of Face ID, so this phone is perfect for me. Also, OLED doesn't matter to me.

Mine just shipped from amazon about 20 minutes ago. I doubt I’ll be seeing it tomorrow. So hopefully it’ll be delivered Monday. Which is fine because my case hasn’t turned up yet.

ive actually ordered a totallee case from the US which can take up to a week anyways. :)

I believe the 6.1" XR was the best selling iPhone last year.

Android don’t really offer small phones though... so if you want cheap what options do you actually have?

My statement was in reference to how well the SE seems to have sold during pre order. Wasn’t comparing it to android devices.

As a 2016 SE user (and a 5c fan) I saw some things I liked about the XR. Somewhat lower end of the price range with good specs including the latest chip, a nice range of colors...then I saw how big it is. Golly! I'm concerned enough transitioning to the new SE, can you imagine how big an adjustment the XR would be?

S/HE'S AROUND THE CORNER!
lol I posted this two hours ago. Less than a quarter mile from my door! Now has drifted to a farther side of my part of town. My "delivery window" is 12:15 to 4:15; it's 12:00 now. I guess they'll get it in the window, lol. Perhaps when they have a window that they have revealed to the recipient, they don't want to go earlier, in case the recipient made an effort to be home inside the window.

The waiting is the worst part... hopefully it arrives soon for you

Yes.... where did I say it wasn’t? I simply said the SE seems to have sold well so far, at pre launch. That was it.

There’s a market for small phones and Apple haven’t offered a current one for a few years (when the 8 was new).
The part where you said for most people 4.7" is enough. The sales of the XR says otherwise. 6.1" is the limit based on sales.

Well we really don't know either way. There was no SE to purchase when the XR came out. Would the SE's lower price have done better than the XR's screen size? Same could be said this year, too, would it have been the other way around? It could be that the pent-up demand for something like this SE just didn't buy a phone last year. SOMETHING had to be the best-selling phone.
