I have an iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone SE and iPad Pro 9.7" and of the three devices I notice the pixels more on iPad too.
Than you should go see a medical scientist or something. Every optical device including human eyes have a limit of resolution. I don't see any pixels on iPhones after the release of iPhone 5.

When I criticise the se display I don't even mean its resolution. I'm talking about Colours, viewing angles and the distance between panel and actual glass on the front.
When I saw the 6 for the first time while I was using the 5s as my phone, I was like what have they done to the display, that it's looking sharper than my 5s although both had the same ppi. They reduced the distance between panel and front glass, which made the display looking much sharper.
You can see the same dofference between iPad Air/ iPad 2017 and at least the air 2 or any pro model.

Tend the devices a bit so the speaker grills are headed toward you and you'll see the panel of the air/2017 is much deeper in the device/ further away from the front Glass.
It's like looking through a window into a room where the tv is a bit away from the window itself.

This is what I mean by old technology. Not the resolution.

I suppose I can admit that the SE screen isn't top of the line. But the SE has so many other good features, price point being the biggest for me. It's going to be very discouraging to see $1000+ iPhones that are out of my price range. I miss carrier iPhone subsidies.

I have no issues with the resolution. I also don't use it as a serious media consumption device, that's what the iPad Pro 12.9 is for. IIRC the SE has the same PPI as the iPad Pro.

Cricket is selling them for $169 for 16GB or $229 for 64GB. You only need to buy a plan for one month and then the phone is unlocked. Cheapest plan is $30.

You need to keep for 6 months UNLESS you sign up for the unlimited plan, which is higher priced.

You can downgrade plan after the unlock, but I don't know if there is a process to get the extra refunded, and not just sit as a credit toward the second month.

My other iPhone is the 7 Plus. So when used in comparison, it's such a nice advantage with the 1080P display and then looking At the SE, its astonishingly different to me.

Regardless, I don't view the SE as "Media consumption device", I'm simply making a request for an updated display. But being our mobile devices are used heavily, I personally would like to see an updated display, especially with a. Smaller 4 inch screen. But given the price point of the SE, it wasn't intended to have the latest specifications.

That said, I do believe Apple will update the SE in 2018, perhaps this being one of the considerations.

If Apple upgrades the resolution on the SE, I will gladly Purchase it again. I have no other issues with it.
I'm really digging the SE. Going to be using it for some time.

An updated SE would be pretty sweet, but even if they don't update it I'm very happily with the current model.

It's a stellar iPhone. I think it was one of the smartest moves for Apple to bring it back into their lineup offering a smaller iPhone to a demographic who did not want or isn't interested in a larger model iPhone. It's a solidly built iPhone with excellent battery life that offers one handed use.

I had a 6 Plus for a while and a 12.9 IPP. I found I use the SE and my iPad mini 4 a lot more nope these days.

I signed up for the unlimited plan so I'm all set. I'm also not planning on leaving Cricket anytime soon. Great coverage and service and I'm saving a ton of cash over ATT or T-MOBILE.

If they added 3D Touch on the new version I'd consider it. 3D Touch is a must have feature
I've never played with 3D Touch. What's so great about it?

Last phone before my SE was the 5. Never felt the interest to upgrade to the v6.
When SE came I was so satisfied and didn't had to change any accessories either.

I hope they come with upgrades....for a long time, so I can stay with this format :D

3D Touch allows you to short cut the application by accessing certain parts without having to open The whole application by a firm press. It has a Peek and Pop feature which will allow you to view a message, web page or photo without having to fully open it.

I use 3D Touch all the time. It's very convenient and was my favorite feature when they introduced it on the 6s.

The best use of it is the trackpad feature of the keyboard. Forget everything else but this is the best use for it

I tried the SE. Couldn't live with the low resolution and small screen. Sent it back.

There are going to be trade-offs between the screen size and resolutions.

Font Size: the smaller the font he more data could be displayed on the screen considering the slightly lower resolution.

Same CPU/GPU as the 6S so that's a HUGE benefit over the 6. I almost feel Apple users got ripped off with the 6 just cause of the larger screen sizes and new styling! Glad I didn't fall for that.

Next SE mode will require the following which I hope Apple will entertain:
* IP6/6S/7 resolution in the same 4" screen size.
* of course updated CPU/GPU
* IP6/7x rating for water resistance! This will keep the form factor not only relevant but also durable at a very competitive costs globally.
* updated iSight cameras.
Deeper colour variations along with matched styling to keep the designs more unified.

Loving my SE like I can't explain. I paid $200, fully unlocked, for this beast of a device.

I would like to know more about this deal as well. I heard of deals where you ban buy the SE carrier locked for $160 (useful as an iPod Touch), compared to that $200 unlocked sounds a better deal to me. What are the details for your deal? How much it would cost me altogether if I'm not a US person and just asked my American friend to bring one to me? Is that doable? Thanks!

Anyone knows anything on @dmx 's $200 unlocked deal? Did it fall off a truck, or something?

Anyway, you can have an SE now for $100 locked to a US carrier. This may be a trivial question, but if my friends brings me such a phone from the US (I'm not in the US), can I use it as an iPod touch abroad - even if it hasn't been registered to, or 'activated' (whatever that means) to a US network, the SIM card hasn't ever been inserted to the device (I know, you in the US not even always use a SIM cards; it's complicated). My friend is not really a techie. So he would just bring me this phone, sealed, I would open it first overseas, it it still functions as a (beefed up) iPod touch, all for $100?

Ewww iphone cheap edition made from scrap parts is a horrible choice just like the new cheap ipad. Makes apple look like low quality company. The iphone 5 was a quality built product the se is garbage quality.

It was apparently a mistake, they were shipped unlocked whereas they should have been locked to Verizon pre-paid. But lots of people were able to get in on it while it lasted (https://slickdeals.net/f/10314272-3...on-smartphone-silver-200-free-in-store-pickup)

SE is great, love the way it feels in my hand, so compact, solid. Camera took great pics over Thanksgiving. Battery life is solid. A winner. And I don't feel ripped off by the price. That said, if they put an A11 bionic in the SE2, I would seriously consider upgrading (and I think theres a strong chance of that as they put the latest chip in the SE and the forward flow is towards the X and VR).

I have the 6s as well. The angular feel in my hand not as satisfying. But its still going strong as Apple replaced the battery last year and its fast as I did not update to iOS 11. So I am happy with that one too.

ps. my SE came with a yellow tone. But IOS 10 lets you change the screen color which is wonderful and Ive been playing with it (look in assistive touch, display).

Don't forget also Apple was pushed into the larger display. Before that, they were content to refine the smaller size device for years. This is just a continuation of that action.

I sheepishly must admit, I had no idea what an SE was until I looked it up at Apple.com. Ooooh, it's a 5/5s! Twas a great phone I completely agree. Better yet, I love coming into a thread and seeing multiple users suspended. Must've been a really good volley. Bravo!

Who says these things or: ewww low quality phone ...they have no idea what are they talking about. The ego is strong with them :)...Iphone SE is so better and for me it fits so much better than a phablet.

I bought my SE in August 2016. I’ve updated to the iOS 11.1.2

But my phone battery doesn’t last as long now

It’s down to 25% today. I only used YouTube 23% safari 11% Best Buy 11%

I remember this phone was so awesome before iOS 11, the battery life was superb

2 hours 18 min of usage

13.5 hours standby since last charged

Anybody else have the same problems?
