I'm not decrying it; it's a great device and low price for an Apple phone.

It's just its looks that didn't do it for me. I prefer the look of my Sony.

Funny thing is that most people, even the ones that doesn't care about SE, admit that this "2012 design" is looking better than most of the smartphones released today.

Just like the stupid Apple's headphone jack logic, older doesn't mean worse.
I'm just going to come out and say it, irrespective of whether bigger screens are better/worse per se, I think the iPhone 6 was an ugly design, and by extension the 6S and 7 have been beaten with the same ugly stick. The off-centre protruding camera is just awful, the top and bottom bezels seem oversized, the antenna lines are clumsy, the screens aren't so big they really justify their overall size, and the obsession with thinness have left all three with disappointing battery life too.

Roll it back to 2012 and you get a phone that's smaller yes, but also just plain better designed.

I agree. I'd love an iPhone 6 Plus with the guts of an SE and just as thick as an SE. All that extra space could be filled with battery. The phone could run for 2 days easy.

I prefer the newer look (although even it is dated now).

Getting rid of the headphone jack was one of Apple's better decisions: include a dongle for those with legacy 'phones, push BT for everybody else. I only keep a decent set of wired phones for my iPod shuffle; otherwise it's BT all the way, (Sennheiser, top of the range BT phones of which I have a few).

Sorry but that makes no sense to me - Bluetooth has been built into iPhones since the very first model a decade ago - your Seinheisers and whatever else work just as well with any recent iPhone as they do the 7, and aren't in any way improved by the absence of a headphone jack on the latest model. Apple haven't given anyone anything new or better by doing this, they've simply taken something away and limited people's options.

I can absolutely see the commercial advantage for Apple in that design choice, but I can't see any benefit whatsoever for the consumer.

It's the future: no wires and other phone manufacturers are doing the same. It's also personal preference, of course, but BT headphone sales eclipsed wired last year and that will continue to grow. BT technology has also improved and that will continue, too.

And the iPhone SE, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6, iPhone 5S and so on can all fully support that future. The 7 is no more equipped for it than any other recent iPhone, it simply lacks something else that can make it a PITA to use in the present.

The first model iPhone did not support Bluetooth music. It only supported Bluetooth for phone calls.

I like aptx with my Sony but SBC aac is fine on the iPhone. The only time I'm not using 'phones is when watching movies on the 10.5 Pro as its speakers are amazing.

Ive had mine for over a year now, and it looks great and is still ace! I was issued a 7Plus for work and it's way too big! I hope they keep the SE around for a long time :D

The SE is a sweet device. I like jogging with it. Much easier than the 6 Plus I had for a while.

Couldn't agree more. Even though I love my 6s Plus, I love my SE equally as much. It is definitely a device that I'd bring along to work out rather than it's larger counterpart.

I agree on the 6 and 6s being not the best looking phones. But I have to say I like how my 7 Plus matte black looks.

Also, the battery life has been exceptional on the Plus model for me.

This thread's like a personal justification for all the people selling there technically better devices like some time ago the 6s was and now the 7, getting the se and calling that an upgrade.

Yes the design ist nice and classical,
Yes the interior is almost the same like the 6s'
Yes it is cheap
No the display is not gorgeous or anything near that. It's just old and most of the time yellow out of the box.
No the front cam is old but ok
No the Taptic Engine is lacking, the old vibromotor is just ok nothing more
3D Touch is nice to have especially as a trackpad on the iOS keyboard.

I'd consider getting the se 2 or whatever if apples ever gonna update the display and screen to body ratio with slimmer bezels. This would made 4.5" possible in the same body.
But to this point na my 7+ is just nice and I'll keep it

And this is my justification for my 7 plus

If Apple upgrades the resolution on the SE, I will gladly Purchase it again. I have no other issues with it.
I have no issues with the resolution. I also don't use it as a serious media consumption device, that's what the iPad Pro 12.9 is for. IIRC the SE has the same PPI as the iPad Pro.

I wanted an unlocked one and I am not on t-mobile. Great price you got.
Cricket is selling them for $169 for 16GB or $229 for 64GB. You only need to buy a plan for one month and then the phone is unlocked. Cheapest plan is $30.

IPads resolution ppi-wise is with 26x lower than iPhones 32x+
[doublepost=1500723522][/doublepost]And yes I do see pixels on my air 2 when the room light or sun directly hits the screen

I have an iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone SE and iPad Pro 9.7" and of the three devices I notice the pixels more on iPad too.

If they added 3D Touch on the new version I'd consider it. 3D Touch is a must have feature
