You can find the iPhone SE for $159 on some prepaid carriers, and $199 on others. Considering most carriers will unlock after 6 months or less (it's 90 days on metro PCS) you get an unlocked phone for a great price.
[doublepost=1496977796][/doublepost]I'm really hoping for a refresh. I don't see how it's possible though, any major improvement would require a beefier battery, and the whole point of the SE was to reutilize the design, because Apple could still produce these parts. They won't keep this design in any slightly larger size, and the battery is strained on an SE as it is. :( maybe an SE 2 with a 4.7 bezeless screen? So it fits in hand the same?

The iPhone SE is really what Apple needed since the beginning : a cheap iPhone for both Apple to produce and the customer to buy that also packs a lot of punch.

That said, I wish the software was more optimized for the smaller screen, Apple have been leaning more and more towards big bold text and empty space in recent iOS versions which is ok for Plus sized devices but look ridiculous on a 4 inch screen.

I've got an iPhone 7 Plus but ordered an SE earlier on this week as a work phone so I can switch it off when I'm not in and get some peace and quiet.

Must admit it's a great little phone and the fact my old 5s case fits is a bonus.

Even though my iPad Pro has the same first Touch ID sensor as the SE I find it actually works better and faster on the SE over the Pro!

I'd buy SE2 if it gets Touch ID 2 and a better camera. Don't understand why the smallest screen size must have inferior parts.

I never cared much for it; everyone thought it was an iPhone 5 and it looked like one from 2012.

The fact that the SE is still popular is testament to the fact that Apple still has not produced a no-compromise phone. The SE is too small for a lot of things--Web browsing, for example. The regular 7 and 7 Plus are both too big for what you get out of them. The Plus is the best phone for visibility but it sucks in the weight and portability departments. The 8 will apparently get it right: same screen size as a plus but in a package roughly the size of the normal 7. We'll see.

I've never enjoyed carrying any iphone. They're all uncomfortable. The BlackBerry Curve was the best portable phone I ever had. Before that, it was the slim flip phones.

I prefer not to have 3D Touch, I don't like how it's inconsistent and the way the home page shortcuts are mostly things I don't want to tap so have to open the app anyway. It's a personal thing but if something doesn't work, is broken or clumsy, I prefer not to have it so when I had 3D Touch I turned it off.

Agree with you. 3D touch angers me every time I use it and realize that I had to have a heavier, thicker phone because of it. It's useless.

I was just playing with an SE at an Apple Store and now lament I did not go with the SE back in March (I bought a 7+). I'd forgotten the SE resolution was a bit kinder to my peepers and I loved the feel of it. Typing wasn't a problem either.

Next iPhone will definitely be an SE if Apple keeps this form factor. For the price and what I use on the phone, it is a no brainer.

Kind of ironic, lately I've gone too big with Apple, when what I truly enjoy are the smaller products (iPhone SE, iPad Mini 4, 21.5" iMac etc.) I must keep that in mind when it comes time to upgrading everything next time.

Have had my SE for a week now. Very impressive upgrade from my 5s. For me, it's the right form factor (and I could reuse my case). Don't care about 3D Touch and I still have a headphone jack.
I would have probably kept my 5s for longer, but wanted to future proof for later iOS upgrades and I don't see Apple coming out with another update for the SE until possibly next year.

I find my hands literally getting fatigued by the weight and width of the 7 Plus. The 6 Plus, although marginally less heavy and less thick, is easier for me to hold. It's actually a relief.

What is the lowdown on a se2? Read something somewhere back when on the possibly of one in the works but nothing since.

Also a fan here…sold a 6 and bought an SE on launch day. There's a few things that a larger phone would be more convenient, but it's been rock-solid, allowed me to dig out all of my old iPhone 5 cases, and has pretty good performance. I've had a few family members who have upgraded from the 5S->SE and have really enjoyed the ability to have something newer and more powerful (at a good price), but not have to replace all of their accessories.

With all the mockups and speculation for the next iPhone going to some U-shaped cutout around the front camera and earpiece, my SE may get even more use if that comes to fruition. I'll probably eventually cave due to some feature, but I don't think I've had such a knee-jerk "yuck" reaction to iPhone speculation before.

UPDATE: So after opening this thread I returned my T-Mobile SE due to a bait and switch promotion that T-MObile decided to not honor. I decided to just keep my iPhone 6. I replaced the battery and the screen. 2 weeks ago the iPhone 6 started to show signs of "Touch Disease". I brought it into the Apple store and they said they would replace it for $299. That seemed high for a 3 year old phone. I did some research and found that Cricket Wireless was selling a 64GB SE for $229. I scooped it right up (gold was all they had in stock).

2 weeks later I am extremely happy. The SE is zippy and I've gotten used to the smaller size. It came with iOS 9.3.2. I wanted to stay on that but since my Apple Watch is running WatchOS 3 I had to upgrade the phone in order to pair it. Very happy to be back on the SE.

Anyone remember how the iPhone 5C was supposed to be their budget phone? The SE totally kills it in price and performance.

I hope Apple updates the SE this fall.

I picked up my SE to replace my 6 Plus and Hold me over until the OLED 8 launches. Now, I'm not so sure if I want a screen that big....

Loving my SE like I can't explain. I paid $200, fully unlocked, for this beast of a device. Great battery life. Great camera. Quality display. Awesome performance that will outpace many $500++ Android "flagships". Fits in any pocket I have. I don't really miss the larger display on my 6 Plus in most situations.

An upgrade SE, with OLED, latest chip, latest camera, maybe slightly bigger and less bezels... would be absolutely unbelievable.

I love the SE as well. I just bought a SE rose gold for my mom, since her 5 was kaput. Very nice color, body feels just right and feels faster than the 6s i'm rocking right now, which was a replacement for my lost 5s, my favourite iphone. SE wasn't out back then. 6s is my least favorite iphone design. The round curves are nice, but the body size is just a bit too wide and high. That protruding camera i hated at first, but started to live with it. It would be awesome if Apple release an update to the SE, with a design like 7, same 7 specs, matte black option, but with the body size and the price of the SE.

It's crazy to me that Apple just doesn't make the same phone in a few sizes. I went "back" to an SE, rather than upgrading my 6 to a 7, because I missed the smaller form factor. Heck, I would've spent more on the SE. Price wasn't the issue.
