Iowa has them...

The Jordan Creek Town Center mall in Des Moines, Iowa, still had 4GB iPhones in stock before they closed yesterday at 6pm, but they were out of 8GB units. The guy there who taught their iPhone workshops thought they had received more 8GB earlier (since Monday) and sold out, though.

So, that said, I wonder if other Apple Stores listed as "out" actually do have them.

 wow! I wonder what the folks who thought the iPhone wasn't going to sell well because of its price or the at&t exclisivity have to say now?

I'm happy for :apple: :)

I have my serious doubts about the accuracy of the iPhone inventory page. On Tues night it reported that Pentagon City in VA was sold out. I dropped in after the ball game yesterday afternoon and they had at least 20-30 sitting behind the counter. (Keep in mine yesterday was the 4th, no deliveries).

My advice to anyone looking for one...call the store.

Yeh i just placed an order for a 8g and a incase ill see how it goes from there the store is still not open yet so i dont know if they have 1 or 2 left but we'll see what happens.

I'm heading to a store that showed they had none online yesterday. I called the store at 4pm yesterday and they said they had some in. The site still shows they don't have any in stock. You can't believe the website, just check out a few stores and you should find some.
Just please buy one for now, since they are getting scarce, save some for other people. When stock catches up, buy another if you need to.

What a bunch of Johnny - Come - Latelys

Oh, now you want an iPhone so badly you'll drive all over (insert state here) to get one? Where were you on Friday? You could have been waiting on line. Or better yet you could have gone to almost any Apple store on Saturday - most still had them in stock and few had lines. Or you could have gone to an AT&T store. True, they were all sold out Friday night but they were taking online orders that would ship in 2-3 days. Nope, you had to wait almost a week before deciding. You had to wait for a million people to get one ahead of you. Then when there is a real scarcity, only then you decide you have to jump on the bandwagon.
Just go to an AT&T store and order one. You have all ready wasted enough time. ;)

I couldn't go Friday to get one, I had to work at 5. The rest of the days I couldn't decide on if I wanted to get one yet, I just knew I wanted to get one soon. Last night I made up my mind. Not gonna order online, I'll either get one today at the store that said they had some last night, or I'll just keep calling every store everyday. I'll get one quicker than if I ordered it. I work nights so I have the time in the day to keep looking! I'm hungry for an :apple: There are five :apple: stores all within 30 minutes of me, chances are. I'll get one very soon.

sold out here in CT BUT its interesting that an apple salesgirl (store) told me a bunch have been returned the next day!? impulse buyers?

Pgh sold out?

I don't think that the Pittsburgh store actually has one, my friend went down Tuesday and didn't get one, maybe they were just out of the 8s...

And I love how everybody copied off of me(who waited in line) and then needs help, I've already given 3 people crash courses.

Off topic... has anybody actually successfully emailed a pic to another phone aka mailto: 4125551212@mms.cricket.com or like vzw?

I got tired of calling my local AT&T stores and the Apple Store in Sacramento, so I ordered an 8GB online this morning. I received a confirmation e-mail late this evening stating that it "will ship by July 20th". If I do find one locally before Apple ships my iPhone, can I still cancel my online order without paying any cancellation fees?
Thanks!

Hey I cancelled an order for my Ipod one time and I didn't have to pay a cancellation fee so you should be fine.

Macrumors?

The iPhone is a tiny tablet Mac running OS X that happens to have a phone in it. Yes, if it were the iTablet we'd probably all be talking about that too...

iPods will soon be tiny Macs too... OS X and all...

Business Leadership

Let me recall now ..... wasn't there some astute executive from Microsoft or Dell who predicted that Apple would be lucky "to break even" with the iPhone?

His shareholders must be filled with confidence by his foresight!

P.S.
Based on the apparent sales pattern, I believe Apple should eliminate the 4GB, concentrate on 8GB, and push for a 12/16 GB for the immediate future.

DIXIE :D

Shadyside is not far from me at all... 40 min drive. Anyone want me to buy them an iphone since they are in stock and send it to them... for a small fee of course ;) :D

I decided Tuesday to get an iPhone. The Glendale (Milwaukee), WI Apple Store is an hour away. Site said they had some in stock the morning of the 4th. I drove over and got there 3 minutes after they opened. The line was about 24 people long. They had 19 iPhones. After they announced they were sold out, everyone dispersed. I hung around and investigated the demo units. About 5 minutes later, an employee walked to the store opening and shouted out into the street that they had 4GB iPhones (I guess they had either *just* gotten them in or didn't see them before), so I was able to snag one of those.

I wanted an 8, but in retrospect, I think it's good. I saved $100. I have no plans to get rid of my iPod and definitely plan to buy a widescreen when Apple deigns to release one. So the 4GB should do nicely to supplement my real iPod.

Go to the Apple store in Oregon and Pa. They are the only two stores that still have the iPhone in stock.

*UPDATE* I have been calling around and stores will be reciving shipments in around this after noon check back with your local Apple Store after 1pm*UPDATE*
