Again, how are setting an alarm daily, viewing clock daily, Amazon Music, and viewing videos with dark gray backgrounds “non real world” tests. If you don’t have any issues kudos to you, why even post here. Apple tech confirmed my issue and swapped it right away.

In general on here people need to chill with attitudes. These issues are real, be it horrible pink shift or bad banding. Some phones are affected FAR more than others. If you haven’t had the pleasure of getting stuck with one you have no idea. If I want to replace mine and Apple had no problem with it why shouldn’t I? People post on here to check if others have the same issues. No need to post shade and skepticism toward people who do have bad screens.

Well.. please don’t change the subject on me in the middle of a debate… That’s called “goalpost moving“ and is a foul in civil debate. What is not real world that you mentioned in your last couple of posts on this topic was turning the brightness all the way down to zero. That is not real world and never will be.

Certainly if you’re seeing something in the alarms section that’s real world along with your other examples there. On my phone I do not see this diagonal line you’re talking about. I’m not saying you’re not seeing it either I’m just saying that you need to do real world testing. Turning the brightness all the way down is never real world.

I never said I turned brightness all the way to zero. I’ve stated it was visible using auto brightness in a dark room. So pick up your yellow penalty flag on me ;)

So, I cannot look at the iPhone X even a second without burn in my eyes, since my eyes are less tolerable since using X.
As an experiment, I have tried with sunglasses on. I feel less burn in my eyes. I can bear looking at it maybe a minute.

I have a feeling that it might be more of a blue light issue than PWM from OLED.

Then I found this website.

http://www.bluelightexposed.com/

And ordered some of blue light blocking glasses from amazon. I will keep you guys updated.

Have you tried Blue Blocker sunglasses?

I get the same issue on my amoled display only it is a $190 Lenovo P2. I think this is just something that happens in amoled production, there will be some variances but since even Apple are passing these screens through QC, it would mean its very common.

My second unit doesn't have the pink edges luckily buuuut I have noticed that the top area of the display is noticeably dimmer than the bottom area. It is pretty annoying now, lol.

Funny I replaced my phone because the top part of my display was dimmer than the bottom. My new phone is uniform but have a pink left edge, I'm ok with this it can be a little annoying at times but I can live with it. Just hate playing the screen lotto

Here’s 2 pictures. One with it set as low as it will go and one with highest. With brightness all the way up it’s looks even in real life. Guess camera picking up light that makes look little uneven
Wow! Your display looks perfect left edge of my screen looks like it’s not even dislaying a grey image it’s just black. Kinda sucks but eh.

Yours sounds exactly like mine. I suspect it's a pretty common 'profile'.

I see something similar on mine but it doesnt seem too bad, do you have any pictures of your issue?
Were you within the 14 day return period or later?

Mine looks quite uniform at all brightness levels with OP's image.
Mine to, guess it’s like before with the LCD’s. Some hade light bleed, some not. Some hade dead pixel’s, some not. In the new Amoled displays some have uniformity issues, some moire issues and some pixel issues. But not all. Alot of displays like mine and yours are just fine.

The majority of displays with iPhones will likely not have any issues. The issues that you read on here or just those who come forward with questions, concerns or have defects with their displays. But it's more than a minority then the majority on a tech forum.

Yes. Only those with potential real isolated issues come on here to complain. Compared to the millions of phones out there - this is a very isolated issue. Bend-gate with the 6Plus was the last true more ubiquitous problem. Or maybe the two different CPU chips scandal of 6S series phones.

With Bend gate concerning the iPhone 6s, I never had that issue. I was one that carried my iPhone in my pocket all the time in the front or back, but it was for those who primarily sat on their that were bending. Part of that problem was just being conscious about what you do with your iPhone and knowing where it is before you sit on it.

Yeah agreed.. But it was still a very widely spread felt problem.. unlike this OLED issue.

And bend-gate was an issue with the 6 Plus phone series - not 6S.

6S series had the dual CPU chip issue as the most complained about pseudo scandal.

I stand corrected. It Was the iPhone 6 that had the 6000 series aluminum used that was bending, an Apple rectified that with the 7000 series with the 6S, which is the same aluminum used on the Apple Watch sport model.

Yep! Exactly. And is was never a complaint with the smaller phone (the 6) only the 6Plus that was prone to bending.

Mine is darker on the left side. Not an issue tho since I plan to return this for a 256gb version

Best I can do it's hard to pickup on camera. Here is a grey photo with brightness at about 15% the left edge looks pink. left side of the screen is also a tad darker too.

Can you post a photo?

Screen at 15% is non-real-world testing. No one runs their screen that dim.

And how are people able to look at a completely blank screen with no icons? How do you achieve that in iOS?
