No, the iPhone X is not the best phone ever made. This coming from a person who owned one for two months, and used every iPhone since the original. That's not to say that others can't love it, but it's some of the best hardware ruined by bad software experience.

It's 2018 and bluetooth headphones are available in abundance, and some good quality ones are very cheap. They are also available in all different styles... The only reason anyone should still be using the audio jack is if they are an audiophile that requires excellent quality audio.... and not someone who is listening to MP3's or streaming music because that wouldnt make a difference. I am talking real audiophiles who have lossless quality music on their devices.
It’s 2018 yet Bluetooth headphone still costs $200 if sound quality, function, connection stability are important. For lower end ones, they still cost 30-50% more than wired headphone. The huge latency when playing the game is insane. The only reason Bluetooth headphone is great is if a user want to still listen to something while moving around. Or they want one headphone for multiple devices and don’t bother messing up with wires. The thing is, not all Bluetooth headphones are easy to setup while also have stable connection.
And the audiophile thing... ugh.

Definitely the BEST. Can't wait to see what Apple comes up with next year or the following year for this series.

The fact that they look and function the same as last years models which looked and functioned as the year before. There's just nothing to say about them that's compelling when the X exists.
That's not really an objective drawback though, is it? Some people may prefer the way the 8 series operate over the changes made to the X.

Well, the fact they are 3/4 of the price and pack the same processing power, aka future-proofing, could be a compelling arugment for the average consumer.

That person make the same old worn out comments in every X thread there is....

I don't understand why every thread has to be derailed with garbage like that but oh well...

As to the OP post, I agree! The X is the best phone I've ever owned as well and well worth the price of admission.
The Notch disrupts the seamless screen!
Ontop of that the price is downright funny! I will never drop $1k on a phone! Plus it still doesn't have a headphone jack! I'm not all about that dingle dongle life!

I got a new 4S yesterday! It's my favorite iPhone design to date. I also use X as my daily phone.

My brand new 4S lying on my X, both my favorite design

The iPhone 4 & 4s have the same design... Why is the 4s your favorite?

Well they’re out of luck then because neither touchid or the clunky home button are coming back.
TouchID is amazing! The "clunky" homebutton is a feature that many people will miss dearly, I can imagine Apple will keep it around for a few more years on lower-end devices.

IMO... In My Opinion...my opinion....mine... not yours...mine!

But yours doesn’t do this and this is better on mine, you couldn’t be more wrong! :D

The OP and I share the same opinion.

I’m not quite sure why people get all huffy about someone else liking a product.

I know one thing, the X takes great pictures, fast.

Is the phone worth the money?
Nah
But I don’t have any regrets getting it.

The notch? I must have gotten over it.

I don’t miss the headphone jack at all.

Nor do I miss the home button.

$1000? Yeah had to cut back on porn to afford it.

I do have an iPhone X and I do love it for the most part, I am fine with the notch, acutally after using it I think it looks kind off cool (although it landscape videos yeah, not good at all). The screen is gorgeous.

But still, almost 3 months after, I still despise Face ID, I input my password more than I ever did since the 5S. Especially at night lying in bed, it is a PITA to align perfectly to it to be unlocked, I find myself just going to the password screen directly. Under sunlight outside, during a very bright day, it becomes completely blind as well. This is the only major issue I have with the phone, I love it for the most part, but just whenever I see someone with an iPhone 8 or below I just drool about that touch ID thingy.

I love my iPhone 6s Plus because of one reason: headphone jack.
iPhone X is a great device but the notch is ugly. It also obstructs the view. Accepting something does not mean it is good.
Face ID is still not good enough, even though I can already see its superiority over Touch ID.
Glass back is prone to shatter or crack. But the feeling is unique and comfortable than aluminium.
I'd rather have an iPhone without the notch, with front-facing camera, with Face ID, and bezeless. Hide every sensor under the screen.

The price of being in the Apple ecosphere is accepting that Apple will push things.

ODD? *boom*

Ethernet? *zap*

MagSafe? *zing*

USB-A? *crack*

3.5mm stereo? *bang*

And on the last, no one has figured out how to hide all these sensors under the screen, and if they did today, you'd be looking at at least $1.5K per phone, probably more.

The phone is stellar, but let's not act like the notch is not a distracting, black stain when viewing videos in landscape mode. It doesn't kill the experience, but it does detract from it. But it's a complete non-issue in portrait mode which is how we use our phones 95% of the time anyways (when not viewing videos).

I'll just never understand people who try and tell other people their opinion is wrong. An opinion cannot be wrong, it's what someone else thinks, its not a fact. Therefore my opinion cannot be wrong. You can disagree with it but it cannot be wrong because it belongs to me alone. At this point I'm not arguing a product but actual intelligence.

Exactly!
Samsung is a great device.
iPhone great device.
I’m happy with my phone I hope your happy with yours, whatever it may be.

The vast majority of people couldn’t tell you or me what chip is in the phone or the resolution of the screen.

They simply use their device.

The iPhone X might feel like the best phone ever made but it comes at a hefty price. Fortunately for consumers like me you don’t have to spend upwards of £1k to get an iPhone that fulfils all the same tasks. My days of needing the best iPhone just for the sake of it disappeared when I had kids and realised nobody I know cares about the latest phones anymore.

I’m sure i’ll see the benefits of the X when my next contract is up in two and a half years time. Enjoy your X’s.
