You're in the weeds again and failed to get the whole context of the interaction. You're so intent on trying to prove me wrong that you missed the whole thing! Reading comprehension........ try it......

You do realize...they don't have to crack the encryption to get data from the phone. They can engineer the user to input their pin or passwords through software. If the NSA or other entities want your data...they will get it.
Then they won't advertise they can do this...it defeats the whole secretive behind the scenes mantra they live by....
They can spy passwords and pins when entered on phones now.

Basically on newer phones with complex passwords they can use lasers to get the information needed to hack into the phone. Got it. I'm ordering my laser from Amazon now.

I saw that too. Soon antennae lines will be a thing of the past!

Like I said, even if Apple just made the antennae lines a color shade similar to the device's color, it'd help in hiding it. Similar to the Space Gray which is the least offensive of the them. Of course, I'm hoping Apple will redesign it even better.

Currently, the antennae lines in the 6/6S frame the device in such an awkward and ugly way.

Why would I be mad at all? It's a phone. There's some who feel like Apple isn't competing when by all objective data that matters to the real world they're doing well, really well.

A link about antenna lines. That's an indication that apples success breeds envy.

Like I said, even if Apple just made the antennae lines a color shade similar to the device's color, it'd help in hiding it. Similar to the Space Gray which is the least offensive of the them. Of course, I'm hoping Apple will redesign it even better.

Currently, the antennae lines in the 6/6S frame the device in such an awkward and ugly way.
yep agreed.....someone has to start making them without antennae lines and it looks like Meizu is the first to do it. Even the notoriously apple friendly iVerge is calling them out for this!

You're free to be as sarcastic as you want, but again, there are people here who care to discuss Apple and how they might redesign the iPhone 7.

Sure I get that. But the premise of your post is that others are supposedly doing things better than Apple, yet something like antenna lines seems like a nonimportant issue to the buying public. It's a highlight of how successful Apple has been to have articles like that.

oh...so now it comes back to the sales thing? No need to improve because sales are good..or maybe flat anyway. So just stick to the status quo because things are good.
Yeah everyone has apple envy....like following apple with large displays...oh wait....
Not everyone follows apple....

And where did I say everyone copies Apple? Imo the other mobile companies would most likely be very happy to have Apple success over the years.

I do believe Apple adds things to each new iteration of their devices. They try to improve each year, like any company would do. Now some may not like the degree or the timing, but that's subjective. Based on the data over the years they've done really well.

It's confusing to me how personal wishlists are taken as facts for the state of a company yet real world data doesn't mean anything.

Yawn, no one is saying Apple isn't doing well or isn't wildly successful. Full stop.

Can the people who are interested in talking about how Apple can improve carry on now? Why jump in if you really believe Apple is just fine the way they are and we're all worrying over nothing. Let us worry on our own then; as I said, there are people here interested in talking about Apple and how they might redesign the iPhone 7.

They are pretty neutral on the silver iPhone too. I don't know why they chose white on the gold as they discolour easily if in contact with denim.

Yeah, the silver isn't bad, too. It's worst on the Rose Gold and Champagne colors, for sure.

Either way, I hope Apple finds a way to minimize those antennae lines in the iPhone 7 through better design besides just color matching. The early rumors/renders are a step in the right direction, but still think they're a bit gaudy.

Apple clearly cares about being the leader in design. They spend a good portion of their product announcements talking about design -- both aesthetically and in terms of functionality. Jon Ivy, especially, prides himself.

Talking about how Apple will redesign the iPhone 7 is fine, in fact any post is fine. It's a discussion. Are we not allowed to disagree? Posts about Apple needing to step up or correlations between Apple and blackberry or the security of said devices are topics for discussion right?

So if the iPhone 7 didn't have antennae lines you would be ok with that right? Or do you like the antennae lines? Or Apple is just doing fine as you said implying they can stand pat. Or just apologetics as usual?

We could also talk about improving the S7 too, this thread is about both phones after all. All I've seen so far is Apple have to catch up and improve and this ignores aspects where they are currently ahead.

I'd like to see a full back up option where you don't have to use various pieces of software to do one back up of your phone. With iTunes I can click back up and that's it. If I get a replacement phone or a new one, one click to restore and the phone is exactly the same. This might be an advantage of one company making both the OS and the device but it's a major pull.

Both devices though have areas to improve but the emphasis is not on one company as far as I can see.

Discussion? You mean like this one...?

Guess that's the dealbreaker then. Antenna lines.

Sarcastic straw-mans? That's the discussion?

Because I'm ready to have an honest discussion when you are.

Definitely plenty of ways Samsung can improve. My posts about how are littered across multiple threads, including the main Galaxy S7 thread. Most recently, I think Samsung can learn a lot from HTC and the HTC 10 -- less duplicate apps, unlocked version immediately for sale, no front facing logo, the adaptive home/fingerprint button (I love this about the HTC 10; I've always been hoping Samsung would finally get rid of a physical home button), and other topics.

No one is perfect.

That is a great point about full back up and restores in iTunes. Love that ability. But also on my S7 edge i can get all my apps and settings and icon placements over the air without having to hook up to a computer. Some is done through Google restore and then some through Nova restoring all of my settings. Then all this can be done either wirelessly or through cell data whichever is more convenient at the time.

Yeah, I've personally had no issues restoring my devices through Google. It's certainly not as robust as Apple's way, but I believe that's because there are so many different Androids out there running different skins and launchers. Google can only restore so much as a native feature. It's definitely something for Android OEMs and Google to continue figuring out.

Also Samsung has their smartswitch app that does almost what iTunes does. Android phones have the ability to sync phone to phone through NFC or Bluetooth. When going through setup it will ask if we want to restore from another device. this way you can get call history and text messages too along with the apps from Google restore over the air.

They do seem to be a subjective subject though. I don't know anybody outside of a forum community who has discussed them as ugly. I quite like the way they split the back of the phone up keeping it similar to the iPhone 5. Whatever they do in future I'm sure it will be aesthetically pleasing.

couldnt care less about antenna lines.

give me more updates, get rid of the carrier crap and control, support the devices longer

value of the device would not drop so fast, better user experience, more sales (as long as they can bully the carriers like apple)

a snapdragon 820 with 4gb ram should last 4 years, we are plateauing in mobile just like desktop, time for support to get better

Agree wholeheartedly with the bolded. We need to demand better support and focus more on the end user experience.
Mobile tech is reaching a point where we are not going to see that much of a difference in speed per se. What need to demand from phone vendors is a better overall user experience. Support and updates are a part of that.

They do seem to be a subjective subject though. I don't know anybody outside of a forum community who has discussed them as ugly. I quite like the way they split the back of the phone up keeping it similar to the iPhone 5. Whatever they do in future I'm sure it will be aesthetically pleasing.
If they weren't ugly why is Apple removing them in iPhone 7?
