They say exactly what they can and can't do and on what models. Note the can't do part.
No they don't...why would they advertise exactly what they can do? Why did it take leakers like Snowden to find out exactly how much snooping the NSA was doing? They don't advertise everything they can do. It defeats the part about being secretive and put them at an disadvantage. All this is common knowledge you are just being snarky about it.
The whole legal tug of war with Apple was just to get them to bend to their will. Apple took the high ground and refused. Good for Apple.

The NSA can get your data without having to break any encryption or brute force PINs or passwords. They don't have to crack the Secure Enclave. They can get into any phone they want to...seriously read the articles posted for you. They have had this ability for a while now.
They can get whatever dat they need from any phone they want. Doesn't matter if it is Android or IOS. If they want your data the NSA can get it.......

apologetics from you as usual. Someone post something about Apple and you run to Apple's defense. No denying it.....you have that reputation here and it is well earned.
You keep saying these companies don't care about us. But you are so quick to defend Apple for every little thing. I think in your mind you care about Apple a great deal. You can say otherwise but i think that is truth. You must put so much value on defending all things apple on this forum because you do it constantly. You have even said you would not own an Android device...yet you are here in the Alternative section a great deal of the time. For someone who has said he hates or dislikes Samsung....you sure do spend a lot of time discussing them. You seem to take Apple's defense personally and spend a lot of time here in a subsection of a forum to do just that. Everyone here knows it and sees it.

Yep who was complaining about lack of SD Card in previous models? No the average consumer. But all the techies and reviewers and Samsung listened.

At least he is critical of Apple as well.
Can't say the same for you and Samsung.

I don't think anyone has seen you say one negative thing about Samsung. And when you got called out for it, you said he was getting personal.

Then you haven't read very many threads here. I am constantly dinging Samsung for things they have done wrong and need to do better. So you are flat out wrong......suggest you do more reading....

He thinks we're having a "discussion." Sarcastic straw mans, and all.

If profits are the final point, then his discussion is done. We all agree apple is wildly profitable. The end.

Now let those who are interested in discussing how and where Apple can improve continue the convo.

Discussing how and where Apple can improve is certainly worth discussion. The sentiment that they NEED to do certain things at a certain timeframe is where disagreements start.

so you think they can improve the antenna lines? Wouldn't it be great if the IP7 had no antenna lines? Wouldn't a sheer slab of aluminum look better without the antenna line breaks?
You are wrong. Optimistic means that they have not cracked anything. Had the company cracked the 6 and got the data then they would say that they did it. Instead they said they were optimistic. The point is about Cellebrite and cracking the iPhone 5c and whether they are able to do it on the 6. They CANNOT. They might be able to do it in the future, but as of today they can't. You want to drag the NSA into this to demure and muddy the point. But the point stand: Cellebrite cannot crack the iPhone 6 yet. They cannot get to the data yet, hence the use of the term optimistic and not successful.
Cellebrite is not going to say everything they can do publicly. But they and all entities like the NSA do not have to use brute force attacks to gain access to data on any phone. They do not have to crack the Secure Enclave. They have other ways of getting your PINs and passwords and any data they want from any phone. Any phone regardless whether it is Android or IOS...they can get your data. The whole FBI legal suit was just a ploy to set precedent with Apple. Apple fought back and took the high road. Good for Apple!
Do you really think these super high tech security companies publicise all of their capabilities to the media?

Spies are gonna spy. Not all spying efforts are successful.

If Apple gave him every thing he wanted it would no longer be an iPhone and would ultimately alienate current iPhone customers.

Are you talking about a loss?
That's the definition of sales with no profit.

Sure while I'm at it I will explain how strawberry sales correlates to iPhones and the s7.
Smh.

Your comparisons are flawed.
You said you can't have sales and no profit. I outline that you can. So your statement was wrong.

Ha-ha Jeep diverting. Because you can't defend your argument.

The fact that they got into an iPhone 6 and extract all directories is impressive.Considering they already promised the person in question that they could even recover the files I would say yes

no, its moreso the line of thought that ios is impenetrable while android is easily compromised that annoys me

certain variants of both ios & android (both devices and operating system versions) are publicly vulnerable, and who knows about privately vulnerable. walled garden wont help with this kind of security, that only works for protecting the user from themselves

Getting the directories is different than getting 100% of the information on a phone.

oh so you have no data to prove your position....got it....
Yep and you have no data to prove yours either, got it. Nobody knows what the spy organizations can and can't do. Only a bunch of opinion pieces.

Yes because it's referred to as a loss.
Your arguments doesn't merit another response.

Unless your suggesting people buy a cup of coffee and spend two years paying it off, just like your hamburger reference.

It's not my fault your premise is faulty to begin with.

The only reason they got into the iPhone 6 was because the father had his fingerprint already registered on the phone, he just didn't have the pin.

You do realize that?
Or perhaps your being obtuse.
