yeah i have a Xs Max but i'm seriously considering just returning it and waiting. Still have 14 days though.

Well I returned mine to the Apple Store today which is 2 hours away. I was not going to wait till Friday or later in the week because I may get too busy to do it. I just refuse to get snake bit by Apple. I didn’t even have major issues on Cellular but when this thing won’t stay connected to WiFi. No can do!! Cellular was less problematic for me. Hopefully for those that hang tight this gets sorted.

Good news our IT department had a iPhone 8 + 64gb that someone turned in that left the company. I was shocked when they offered to give it to me. They have so many phones collecting dust in that department. I was like sure I will gladly take it off your hands. Signed donation form and off I went and it didn’t cost me anything but a new leather case and tempered glass screen protector. Restored with upgrade to IOS 12 and I am happy. No reception issue on WiFi or Cellular and camera is plenty good enough as I already knew.

$1250 back in my bank account in the next few days.

I will say the Max is a super nice phone. Love Face ID. 6.5 OLED display and upgraded cam and other specs. However after setting up this iPhone 8+ I am not sure I was $1250 happy with it.

You’ll be surprise, I’ve got a bunch of iPhone 8 in our department collecting dust but it’s locked by user since they didn’t turn off find my iPhone ‍♂️

people with bad signal post your numbers from the signal test. so we can keep track. Unless that isn't reliable.

I have been tracking this for a week now. I am going to be returning this phone Monday if I don’t get any resolution from Sprint by then. My case has been escalated to a “Tier III” and I have yet to hear of any resolution. Any other trouble shooting that has been done for me even at the executive level that has apparently worked for other customers, has not helped with my situation.

Pretty surprised to see that kind of speed from TMo LTE using my Max. Upload is little lacking though. Never seen this kind of speed using my 7+, but still not totally sold on the Max.

What amazes me is that with all the beta testers and field engineers that actually used the iPhone xs and xs Max nobody found these issues. Is Apples new thing let the public find out for themselves when its finally released

Yeah they told me many folks leave and don't turn the off the find my phone before doing the reset. They think just because they reset it turns off find my phone, but it doesn't. I sort of wondered when they gave me this 8 + if I was going to get it home get it in DFU mode and do the restore only to find out it was locked, but I lucked out. :)

Oh believe me, they found these issues while testing. The engineers likely complained how bad the new antennas are, and the higher ups ignored them. Right now the hardware engineers are saying "We told you so".

The phone is going back on monday. What a POS. I was out with my wife who has my old X. Her download speed at the restaurant was around 30 Mbps, mine on the new Max was less than 2. Sorry Apple. I'm done. This is pathetic. I paid
$1500 for this phone, and I have bought every phone since the 4. I am not going to throw away $1500.

That’s truly awful!
On a side note, I really wanted to upgrade to an Xs Max this year, but Apple tried so hard to make this phone unusable as a phone.
I’m honestly torn because I’m super loving it but $1200 should be for something that should work straight out of the box.

Agreed, the charging issue I am sure will get fixed with a software update I am afraid the signal issue isn't because its hardware and it's not "broken" it just sucks in comparison older iPhones.

I loved it too... It's a slick phone, but the community has now identified multiple issues with this phone. It seems not everyone is impacted. Though some believe everyone has been impacted by the new antenna design, but because they live and work in areas with good cellular coverage they just don't realize it. For me the WiFi was the thing I couldn't tolerate. I would have full sign in my living room where my access point is and then go to my bedroom which isn't far away and it would switch to cellular. I turned off WiFi assist thinking that maybe it. This didn't help at all. Yet my iPhone 8 Plus has full signal in my living room and in my bedroom.

Don't get snake bit by Apple! Bring it back!

I think it's too soon to write these phones off. Most of the other issues will be fixable, imo, the only one that really concerns me is the antenna. Even then it's too soon to say it can't or won't be fixed.

I'm not optimistic about the antenna issue but I think it's worth waiting for an official statement before passing final judgment.

It's called a support forum. If they delete posts about the issue, it masks the problems from others who go to the support forum looking to see if others have the issue. Apple is covering their tracks to make it look like no one has issues with this phone on their forum. That's pretty deceptive.
