Other It’s almost 2019 and apple announced a phone that cost 750 and can’t display a 1080 screen

It’s lower than 1080p, just so you are aware. It’s closer to 720p
It doesn’t matter for most consumers. They’re happy with their iPhone 7 and 8 device resolution
I'm only getting the Xr because it's the only one that won't give me a headache. Had to return my X and got 8+. No headaches from it. Hopefully one day they'll figure a way for their top phones not to affect those with sensitive eyes.
That's exactly why car salesmen push payment amount rather than sales price.
People who can do math know that $8 for 30 months is $240 and they may not be willing to pay an extra $240 even if it is only a low, low $0.27 a day!!
30 months? That's 2.5 years. Wow, I guess by the time you pay off the XS/XR/XSMax you can wait a few months and jump to the iPhone 12 in 2021!
I understand how inflation works but these prices are out of control. I don't live outside of my means but I'm having a hard time justifying upgrading to an XS. Hopefully Verizon will run some kind of special like they did 2 years ago when they gave me $650 for a 2 year old iPhone 6 to upgrade to my $869 7+ (net cost $219+tax).
I ordered a xs don’t get me wrong. Why not pay an extra 300 to get the better phone. Apple is a marketing genius
It is basically same as XS without the zoom. I’m personally ok with that. Some aren’t.
A. Some people cant afford the $300? B. Maybe they have a family and are ordering 3 or 4 phones? That $300 quickly becomes $1200. C. Others may be more careful with their budget D. The features don't justify the cost to someone else besides yourself.
Yes it's good enough for those upgrading from non-Plus iPhones, but also priced higher than the non-Plus iPhones. The iPhone XR in 2018 is priced the same as the iPhone 6s Plus was at launch three years ago, and has a lower screen resolution / pixel density compared to the iPhone 6s Plus as well as no 3D Touch.
I recently posted about why the XR is $100 overpriced in more detail. At $649 it would be a decent value overall, and the screen PPI can be ignored (though as an iPhone Plus owner I still view it as a downgrade).
Haha of course not. I said that it would be a hot seller, but for people upgrading . If you want to try Apple it's better to buy one used or an 7 or 8 new. But it's my opinion. For 600 it could be a great price for what it offer.
Get it financed and it’s about 10 monthly more. And if they can’t afford it then why buy a new phone ? An iPhone is a Luxury not a need
You don't seem to grasp that paying it over time doesn't make it magically cheaper.
I'm pretty sure the implication is it's affordable with payment plans. No where in the post that is implied as cheaper.
If someone doesn't want to spend the extra $300, it doesn't matter if it's a lump sum or 300 $1 payments.
Working from the monthly payment rather than the total cost is how salesmen upsell, not how consciencous spenders make choices.

Im a big fan of Apple but there is no excusing this. Anyone who thinks this is ok is nothing sort of mental. Lack of fast charger is stupid but not a deal breaker.....less than 1080p on a smart phone is just not right. It would have cost next to nothing.

Watch the sales when the Xr goes live and see how many people who disagree with you — I mean mental people — there are.
Its not that nobody cares about the screen its that the people who care about the screen will pay a premium for a higher rez OLED.....which suprise surprise, they are also selling.
