This has been a really interesting thread to follow.
A few weeks ago, I purchased the Jurassic World blu-ray combo pack for 24 bucks on Amazon. (I am one of the few who always purchased a 3D blu-ray when available since I have a 3D 1080p projector and enjoy 3D movies) The combo pack also comes with a UV digital copy.
I am seeing some UV code selling sites that have 10 copies of Jurassic World that they are selling for $1.50 to $2. I'm trying to figure out the business model of all this. Is some guy ordering Jurassic World blu-rays in bulk, selling the UV codes online, ripping the BD (if they want a copy for themselves), and then trying to sell the used blu-ray on eBay or Amazon. I don't understand how this could be profitable. Having to deal with strangers and PayPal, eBay/Amazon, shipping costs, ripping a personal copy. Any idea? I have actually purchased a few UV codes from these sellers since the prices were so good, but just curious as to what they are getting out of it.
