Great deal! I've made it a mission to not spend more than $3 on a movie and $5 on Disney movies. If not, I'd be buying every single movie. Also I ignore movies with no iTunes Extra features.
Just cause the extras aren't there now doesn't mean it won't get there . Apple adds extras for movies all the time . Plus most old movies don't have them yet

Just picked up Trainwreck, Selfless and Terminator Gensys for a total of $12. Love getting new releases so cheap.

This guy on the Google + community had all three for $12.

So it seems like the google hangouts are the way since those have individuals and websites. What are the top groups and sites you frequent? Just the ones from your original post or basically whatever you can find?

Also I have iTunes, ultraviolet, and now DMA. Should I be signing up for any others?

Personally I only use iTunes and DMA. As for buying, I buy 90% from the Google community. The other 10% are from some sites that I posted previously, if they have some great deals.

If I want Marvel movies, do I have to get DMA or iTunes XML? Is there no such thing as a regular iTunes code? Most Marvel movies like Age of Ultron and Iron Man 3 are like $8 which I don't get because new movies like Jurassic World and Furious 7 go for $2.

Marvel movies are under the Disney umbrella. That is why they are more expensive. They can be ported just about anywhere. You can get the DMA or DC+ code and they both redeem as HD with extras in iTunes.

I would sign up with DMA. I you do, and add iTunes you will get Monsters inc free.

I scored 2 seasons of Game of Thrones for $4 each. Yay!! I find it odd that iTunes codes are so cheap compared to other formats. Usually anything related to Apple is at an exorbitant price.

more people have UV codes than iTunes. The studios push UV over iTunes.

I'm starting to understand why iTunes would be less in demand. Compared to UV and Flixster, the selection is severed by quite an amount, and there's also many more instances of a digital copy being standard definition only if it's for iTunes.

If this is someone's primary method of building a digital collection -- through the codes offered with physical copies -- then UV is certainly the way to go.

These past few days have certainly answered a question that's recurred for me every so often: "wtf is a Flixster and why are people using this?"
Noooow I know. And it matters more to me now as I don't own the physical copies for movies I would have the code for.

I'm assuming all these codes are only good for the US iTunes store? Does anyone know if they work in the UK? Found Boardwalk Empire on MoviesRUs but don't want to buy if it's gonna get rejected in the UK store.

Yep I already signed up for DMA a while back. I'm just not sure what format I should be purchasing Disney movies in. Is DC+ the cheapest code? I really only care about having the movie in iTunes in HD, don't need DMR points.

that was a question I was about to ask. So Halloween was just added to itunes i think this week (not sure) and has no extras. If they release extras at a later time, are you sure you get the extras added for free or is it considered a "special edition" or something

You get the extras added for free. :)
(off topic) I noticed you are a blu-ray.com member too.

Yes I've found DC+ to be cheapest because it's the movie only. DMA/DMR will usually get you the points as well. I usually go for the cheaper DC+.

Thing about the Disney movies is, in the end, as long as all your accounts are linked to your DMA account, you can buy Disney anywhere and it will port over to all services.

This is probably the wrong thread but I bought The Dark Knight a few years back and when I go to my purchase history, I can download it. But if I look up the movie in the iTunes Store, it doesn't give me the option to download it, only to purchase. I assume this is because I have a slightly different release (the version I bought was taken down from the store and a new Dark Knight was put up).

If I search Batman Begins in iTunes on the store page, it gives me the option to download and not purchase since I already bought it so I assume the one I bought is still for sale on the iTunes Store.

Is there any way Apple will give me the code for the "newer" Dark Knight? It doesn't make or break anything for me, I just have slight OCD about it since I want my Dark Knight Trilogy to all be the latest version.

I would tend to doubt it....although maybe someone has a better answer. Apple is keeping the old one you bought available behind the scenes for redownload. Remember, the only problem with digital copies of anything.....you don't really own them. Apple or the studio can take it away if they want. I highly doubt it would happen....but it is something to think about.

Didn't something happen with Apple and Disney a year or so where a bunch of movies couldn't be played anymore?

With all the films that I've currently got in my US account, it shows the option to buy the film rather than just download... it.

So you probably fall under the same situation as me. For example, before Disney bought Marvel, I would imagine the link to the original Iron Man in 2008 was taken down and if you try to buy it today, you'll get the re-issued Iron Man under Disney imprint. So you can always re-download your version in your purchased history, but can't search for it in the iTunes Store.

I happily received a free code for a Harry Potter movie, and I only took it because I thought I'd get to see the iTunes Extras that were recently added to the iTunes versions. But it turns out the code was only for the SD version and no extras are available.

I'm pretty certain it wasn't a code that required an XML thing (foggy memory). And when I'm buying from a code store, I know it usually states "iTunes HD" or at least labels it as "SD" if needed. But outside of it needing an XML crack (Disney being the exception), and just whether it's labeled as HD or SD or not, does anyone know what else to look out for to make sure a code won't redeem for only SD and sans extras?

What I have found is that if the code is all numbers, then it is most likely SD quality. So I try to avoid non-Disney XML codes and any codes that I see are all numbers.
