If I redeem on Amazon first and link to DMA, does that mean my iTunes account still considers the movie as "purchased by me"?

Yes.

There is no second set in redeeming to link to DMA. The linking is done beforehand. Once accounts are linked, any purchase on one account will show up as available on all other accounts. So if you redeem on Amazon and it's linked to your DMA account and iTunes is linked to your DMA account, you will be able to go into the purchased section in iTunes and see your movie (and download it if you choose).

Is there any negative to connecting to all accounts? For example, I have iTunes, Amazon, Vudu, and Google Play.

No, you want to connect all accounts. And you want to do it before you purchase and redeem to make sure all accounts get access to all the movies.

The more accounts, the more access to your Disney movies. This way is doesn't matter where you buy....all your accounts will see all your purchases.

I have all my accounts connected. So all my movies are shown in each account.

Can I assume you are telling me to do it before my purchase since you can't retroactively apply DMA to all your older purchases?

Yeah early on I think there were some glitches with that, but it seems that is fixed.

Before I replied to you, I only had my iTunes, Vudu and Amazon accounts linked. I have 16 movies in my DMA account already. I then linked both Microsoft and Google. When I login to both of those I see all 16 of my movies. So you can link an account afterwards and see all your purchases.

What you can't do is but a Disney movie in an account that isn't linked.....and then link it. The movie won't transfer at that point. So just make sure whatever account you buy/redeem in, is linked to your DMA account.

Came across this thread last week, and holy crap am I impressed. Bought more movies on these sites in the last week than I have in the past few years. Snagged Jurassic Park, Jurassic World, Anchorman 2, and Paranorman for under $15

For those purchasing through HO, are you guys using a separate Google account just for HO purchases? Or are you using your regular Google account? Obviously having a "fake" account does no harm to the seller since the buyer is the one that sends payment first.

If you link your Amazon and iTunes to DMA, you can redeem DC+ with Amazon and you will also get the DMA & DMR points, with it automatically showing up in iTunes. This is because Amazon applies a promotional credit that you use to "buy" the movie with. This shows up as an eligible purchase for the points. I've done it a couple of times now.
Then what is the point of even buying a DMA/DMR code? Why not just buy the DC+ and redeem through Amazon?

I use my regular gmail account. You can make a fake account if you want. People really don't care either way.

Some people want to use the points from DMA/DMR to buy other Disney items. Like currently I have 6000 points from DMA/DMR purchases. I want to build them up and use them on the next Star Wars release if possible.

I think he's asking, if Amazon gives you the points for a DC+ code, why buy a DMA code. I'm guessing most people don't realize this and that's why they chose the DMA.

Hopefully a original trilogy re-release. I refuse to buy the special editions. :p

In addition to UV codes that come with blu-rays (or that you buy from these sites), if you guys haven't tried it, VUDU does a DVD to HD Digital copy service. Since I had 100+ DVDs that I've been collecting since the early 2000s, VUDU charged me $2.00 for a 1080p HD copy. So I have a pretty giant VUDU Digital Library now.

And in my opinion, VUDU's HD streaming quality is the best I've seen. I have a 1080p projector so I am viewing a 100 inch screen. I would say compared to iTunes, Netflix, Amazon, and Xbox Marketplace, VUDU is the clear winner. I think they have bit rate or less compression.

How do you submit the DVD to them in order to make the exchange? Also, isn't it $2 to upgrade DVD to SD, but $5 to upgrade DVD to HD?

Info here: http://www.vudu.com/in_home_disc_to_digital.html

Not sure if the process has changed as I did this a year and half ago. But all I did was download a VUDU app for my computer, inserted a DVD into my disc drive, and then it asked me if I wanted to buy a SD version or HD version. You still get to keep your original DVD too. (don't need to mail it in or anything) Also, they usually offer promotions like covert 10 or more DVDs at once and the VUDU digital copy will be cheaper to buy.

THIS!

DO THIS! DO THIS! DO THIS!

Link them all, enter the code in the DMA app and they all get the copy.

Now if Ultraviolet would work like this....

When it comes to the digital copy issue, Disney is the only one that has it right. You can even move it to someone else at some point by disconnecting from your account and reconnecting to the other persons account. You keep your digital copies, and they transfer your entire collection to the other persons account when they sign in with your DMA account info and link to their iTunes, VUDU, Amazon, Google, and Microsoft accounts. This is epic for leaving your catalog to your kid(s).

Vudu is owned by Walmart. So you can usually take DVD's in there.
Speaking of Walmart, one cool small perk of VUDU being owned by Walmart is that if you ever buy a Blu-ray or DVD at Walmart that has a digital copy included, you just tell the cashier your email address (whatever email is associated with your VUDU), and the Digital copy is automatically added to your VUDU library before you even get home! (no dealing with entering codes, etc)

I still prefer buying blu-rays from Amazon over walmart.

I'd love it if Amazon would give us all digital copies of every DVD and BD I've bought. That would be sick.

Thanks again for reminding me of this. Just picked up Inside Out DC+ and redeemed through Amazon. Got the movie, the rewards and an Amazon $1 Digital Music Credit. :D

I can confirm that I bought my first Disney movie as a DC+ and redeemed it via Amazon and got DMR. $1 MP3 credit too!
