Definitely didn't help that I also got an extra $4 video credit due to some Amazon promo when buying Age of Ultron. :)

Well now you'll be able to get these codes to build your collection at a fraction of the retail price. I just finished up getting all the Marvel movies I could get (had to get 2 on iTunes for full price).

I'm looking to expand my Marvel collection too but the codes are hard to find and expensive.

Yeah, the Marvel movies can be more.....but compared to the solid $20 for purchase they are still a good deal. And now that Disney bought them they work with DMA.

I had to buy Iron Man 1 and Thor 1 from iTunes. Guess there isn't an Iron Man 1 code....and conflicting reports on whether Thor 1 works. Not that big a deal since I just got the 25% iTunes from Paypal.

For the rest here's what I ended up paying:

Guardians of the Galaxy $4.00
Avengers Age of Ultron $5.00
Avengers $9.00
Iron Man 2 $10.25
Iron Man 3 $5.75
Captain America $9.50
Captain America the Winter Soldier $7.00
Thor the Dark World $6.00

It was a mix between sites selling codes (those are usually a bit more convenient, but a little more expensive) and hangouts.

Some of the older ones were XML codes.

Just have to keep an eye out.

Congrats Kendo. Welcome to the "spending too much because it's addictive club" :p

Don't download the Fox Movie Deal of the day app. They have one title on sale every day for $5 or less. They're real wallet suckers. They actually give you one or two top titles each week that you can't resist the urge to buy some times. They've taken me for a dozen movies already. It uses whichever ecosystem your device is so make sure you buy it from the right device. I bought one on my old Samsung phone the day before traded it in not thinking about it so it's stuck in UVVU land.

I would find it hard to be tempted to buy a movie for $5 especially when I just got Jurassic World for $1.50.

Great guideline on the going rates of Marvel titles. I think I saw Thor 2 for $8 on the forums and was tempted by a $5 Guardians.

Yeah, the newer Disney movies can come down in price quick. Inside Out was going for $8 a few days ago but I'm seeing them at $4.50 now.

When they say DMA/DMR only, what exactly does that mean? You can only redeem one or the other? I noticed a store listing that.

I just picked up Inside out for $4.25. I figure in a few weeks it'll be down some more. Lowest I've seen it $4.

I believe it just means you can only redeem the code directly on DisneyMovieRewards.com. Thus placing it in your DMA account and having access to it everywhere whereas DC+ you select the provider you technically redeem it at. I think they specify it this way to let people know they have to have a DMA account to redeem. Technically with DC+ you don't need a DMA account. You can redeem a DC+ through iTunes for example and it would only be there.

Redeeming it through Amazon...does it go into DMA and populate Vudu, iTunes etc?

As long as your Amazon account is linked to your DMA when you redeem....yes it's available in Vudu and iTunes. For the Inside Out I just redeemed at Amazon tonight, it was available immediately in my iTunes account.

And all this buying is great.....but it will really open up if someone like Vudu releases an ATV app. There are just some movies that will never have iTunes codes (like Pixels). Really hoping SOMEONE does a UV app on the ATV.

FYI Thor 1 does work. I just have to buckle down and buy Iron Man 1 from iTunes.

Is there ever a point where codes become more expensive as supply dwindles down? For example I see a lot of Age of Ultrons but not a lot of Winter Soldiers.

I realize what I just said is common sense, but I'm not sure whether to pick up Inside Out now or a month from now. I'm not desperate to see it.

Hey @netnothing for the Disney/Marvel XML do they redeem in Itunes HD?

Yes, Disney XML redeem in HD in iTunes. As far as I know non-Disney XMLs do not.

I know I did Captain America, Iron Man 2, Toy Story 1/2/3 all in XML and they all redeemed in HD. The XML workaround for OS X is really easy. You'll always get an error after redeeming, but you can ignore it and the movie will be in your purchased list.

And I think there is no Iron Man 1 because that was Paramont when released or something.

Yeah, I went back and forth but finally just broke down and bought it in iTunes. I had done an HO for someone with Thor 1 XML for $7 but they had sold it. Thanks for the info though.....hopefully someone else can find it for a good deal.

Guessing some of it has to do with new releases flooding the market. You'll see a lot of codes and a lot of people wanting to get their hands on the new release. After a few weeks, if you hang out in the Google group for a while, you'll start to see people posting and testing the waters. Sometimes you see someone post for $6 and then the next post for $5. I think it's usually how bad the person selling wants to get paid without it bottoming out. I think most Disney/Pixar/Marvel hold their value more. For me, I was waiting for Inside Out to get into the $4 range. I could have waited more, but my daughter wanted to see it again :D

Dumb question but where do you link our Amazon to DMA? What about redeeming a DC+ code on Amazon?

You will be surprised they have a lot of stuff that don't have iTunes codes between that app and the cheapcharts app I always get caught for a few movies every week .

You link your accounts at disneymoviesanwhere.com website just go into settings and link your account. Go digitalcopyplus.com to redeem movie at Amazon, just follow the instructions.

edit

@netnothing when you redeemed the XML for the Marvel Movies, did you also get iTunes Extras? I redeemed Thor but it doesn't have it. It's strange since the version on iTunes does.

I bought a Disney DC+ and the guy told me not to redeem as a DMA and redeem it as a DC+. Once I redeem it on Amazon, am I free to connect it to DMA and get my points? As long as I don't initially redeem as a DMA, the DMA code should remain untouched?

Also, when I redeemed it on Amazon, it defaulted to SD but I chose the HD version. Does DMA automatically convert all SD movies to HD anyway?

It's already gotten that bad that I'm contemplating buying a $100 gift card so I can get the Harry Potter set - £20 cheaper in the US than here in the UK!
