To each their own. I completely understand those who don't feel like the 7 is a upgrade especially from the 6 s. For me it was a upgrade based on the things I wanted. I enjoy being a part of these forums and seeing everyone's opinions.

Returned my 7 today and picked up a 6s plus. This is my first crack at a plus sized device and I absolutely love it.
what made you go for the 6s Plus as opposed to the 7 Plus? Was it the fact that the 7 Plus devices weren't available or that you didn't feel impressed with the performance of the 7 device?

Also what phone were you coming from prior to upgrading?

I came from a 6s. Ultimately, I returned the 7 because of the lower quality speaker(s) and the fact that I couldn't really justify the cost for the additional features that didn't really apply to me. Seemed like a good idea to use the extra money to bump up in size.

My wife has a Rose Gold 7 plus. My Jet Black hasn't come in yet. The speakers on the 7 plus are better then the 6s plus. It's no iPad Pro but I can easily tell the difference. The 7 plus is louder and more clear in my opinion. Congrats on your purchase.

Volume and clarity, it definitely had. There was just no.... I dunno. Oomph? Hard to describe but "tinny" kinda works.

I know what you mean. I have a nexus 6pand it has dual stereo speakers and it's loud. Just not a great quality sound like a iPad Pro. But I'm glad you found a device you like.

Good thing I don't have normal color vision, I can't see the full range of colors anyways so I'll be fine with my "yellow" screen whenever it comes in, haha

It defiantly seems there are inconsistent screens out there. I have no idea if the screens are defective or just not calibrated right. When placed next to my 6s plus my 7 plus looks better to me. But I wonder what is going on with some of the other screens I see here on the forum.

Wow people are so mean on this board god forbid someone does not like their beloved iphones...

OP thanks for sharing your input, I however welcome reading cons and pros.
Who was mean?

The display 7's I saw had clear screens. Which is par for the course.

I'll bet you $100 that in 2 months clear screens are back. I have 7 years of track record backing this up.
anecdotal evidence isn't really evidence.

Well after 5 days use have just started the returns process for 7 plus silver. For me personally cannot justify the cost to upgrade from my 6s plus no real major improvement for my use, and also the problem with my screen which is not as good as my 6s plus but thats my personal view (before all the fan boys come on saying i am wrong).

Have also cancelled my JB 7plus which was on order as wife says shes happy to stick with her iphone for now.

Um, okay then. See ya. Nitpickers like you who aren't happy unless they can find (or make up) things to bash a new device for come out whenever there's a new launch.
Or maybe, they don't see that the new phone is worth the cost compared to their old phone. Some people HAVE to have the new phone, no matter what, and get offended when someone says it's not worth the upgrade.

I don't know why you upgrade every year anyways

No iPhone has oomph. Why would you expect that?

The huge difference is that the sound is now projected both down and forward. I always hated the fact that the speakers faced away from the person and that I had to cup the end to hear better.

I totally get what you're trying to say. I'm a big Apple fan and I buy every new iPhone, but this year, I'm holding back.

The 7 is pretty much a water resistant 6s with a slightly faster processor. In most speed tests I've watched on YouTube, the 6s is FASTER than the 7! WTF! Maybe it's because it's switching from the low power cores to the high power ones, but cmon! It has to be faster than the phone it's replacing. It's got the SAME design. I mean cmon! 3 years is long enough. Move on! Like the guy said, marginally improved camera. Yeah the whole world goes crazy when they see a new color, but I know it's the same damn phone. The iPhone 7 not NEW! Not at all. It's the same phone with slightly better features to keep customers happy until the next one comes out.

The way I see it, Apple launched the 7 just to buy them some time to release the 10th anniversary phone. Now that's the phone to get. It'll be an all new phone.

If you guys have a 6, I guess upgrading to the 7 is a good idea, but if you have a 6s, there's really no point upgrading. Save the money. Buy the next iPhone. That will be a game changer.

The launched the 7 for investors. It's another revenue stream. Buy time, huh?

With each passing year more and more Apple fans are being sent to the margins by the ever increasing prices ... no longer can they claim a spot at the THE adults table.
You mean 256GB for $20 price increase or 128 GB for $80 less yeah that sucks

Did the same, less then 24h i've returned the iP7, nothing wowow about it except the waterproof \ water resistant, so i saved the money and moved back to my trusty 4s that can do everything the 7 can, just in a smaller package.

Considering returning the 7 primarily due to the protruding rear camera lens, just can't get used to it. Hopefully Apple can produce the next iteration with a flush rear lens. Other than the lens, it's a nice device, but will go back to my trusty 5SE.
I guess some don't mind the lens protruding, but for me, it just seems like un-Apple design integration.
