First world problems ... lol, so silly.

Haha really though. Honestly I don't care about upgrading nearly as much as I used to. My 6+ actually works really well, I'd just want the better camera. This is actually the first iPhone where I haven't felt it become horribly slow or anything, even on iOS 10.

This is just not knowing what you bought. I can appreciate your cons but the screen is suppose to have a warmer hue because it's the same type of display in the iPad Pro that adjust to its surrounding conditions. The home button is not suppose to be real and has many people have already pointed out there are gloves already out to help this.

If you don't like it then you should return it. Best of luck OP:)

Not correct, true tone is not a feature of the iPhone 7. Its not supposed to be warmer. That was never in the keynote. No one at apple ever said that. It isnt glue. The clear screens will be back. The end.

Well good for you, no point in keeping something u don't like. I on the other hand have a cracked screen on an iPhone 6plus so I will welcome the change and if not only got to put up with it for a year until the anniversary phone.

Did you go to the 7+? Could I ask your opinion on the camera difference (even if you got a 7)? Especially in low light?

OP bought the phone knowing all of this from the keynote. Why would you buy the phone knowing all these changes would make you not like it?

We didnt know for sure the initial screens would suck, but should have guessed based on past years. I did think the speed would feel noticeable and the home button would be fine. So none of that knew in advance.

Maybe they didn't realize they wouldn't like it until they used it. Once they used it and didn't like it, they returned it. After that they posted to an apple opinion website to discuss and maybe help others realize they won't like the changes before they buy one. It all sounds very reasonable to me.

OP: thanks for taking the time to write it up. It is amazing that people get hostile when you say something isn't right with an Apple product. Apple has had, and will continue to have, issues with it's products, from bad screens, to bad GPU's, etc. The latest and greatest is the "touch disease" on the 6 models. Apple has a curious corporate mentality of stonewalling stuff until enough people protest or a class action is filed. I like Apple stuff and have had numerous Apple phones. I am currently using an HTC 10 and a Galaxy S7 Edge, because I believe they offer more features than the current Apple phones. If the 8 series looks good, I will happily come back.

I think for most people the issue is that most of his complaints are thing he could've found out before purchasing the phone. I mean, no head phone jack? Was that a surprise?

When I compare color temperature with Adobe Lightroom - Blue is low and yellow high. I dont know the meaning of attached gif with Ba as Y and Alpha as X

kre62 is correct, a warmer screen has a lower Kelvin temperature and a blue screen has a higher Kelvin temperature. You just have things reversed in your mind.

Delete your account, youre not informed or not paying attention.

Whoa, easy there. There's no reason to be flat-out rude towards other's pint of view.

Congrats, you won the panel lottery. Many did not. And we shouldnt stand for it.

We hear this same thing every year -- people claiming that the first batch of iPhones are always bad. They are convinced that all iPhones are bad and only a tiny fraction of people are lucky enough to get a good screen. Some people even exchange their phone with Apple numerous times. Lucky for them, Apple has over-the-top customer service and puts up with their nonsense. Every year, its the same thing: the yellow-screen crowd shouting from the rooftops hoping someone will actually listen to them.

Here's another example of what I'm talking about above. kre62, I'm glad you returned your iPhone 7 and now its time to get on with your life. As you already said, the 6s is the perfect phone for you and that is awesome. I'm genuinely stoked that it is a great match for you.

But in the meantime, your aggressive attitude towards the vast majority that disagrees with your yellow screen paranoia is unwarranted. It's cool to have an opinion, but it's not cool to exaggerate or shout from the rooftops.

The iPhone 7 tint can be adjusted precisely.

  1. Open the “Settings” app and go to “General” and then to “Accessibility”
  2. Tap on “Display Accommodations” and then tap on “Color Filters”
  3. Flip the “Color Filters” setting to the ON position
  4. Select the “Color Tint” option from the filter list
  5. Now adjust the Hue to be less yellow by sliding the Hue bar, move it around until your screen is closer to the color hue you are looking for
  6. Slide the “Intensity” filter to a low setting to offer a more subtle color correction

Thanks for your thoughts. I'd encourage you to research this issue over the years to see that the initial batches always have a good chunk that are yellow. People like you always claim this is normal, but for some reason we end up with non yellow screen versions of those same phones, every year, to compare to the new yellow screens each year. So if Apple really went warmer with the 3GS, like people said they did, there would not be a single non-warm display since then to compare to right?

Just please get better informed before you are dismissive of a real issue. Many people do not like the yellow screens. If you do like them, keep buying launch day phones and you are more than likely to get them every year.

Tried this, looked artificial to me and contrast and sharpness still weren't as good as the 6s.

I covered this in the OP actually.

Sigh, this is getting tiresome. I am very informed. I've had the non-pleasure of reading deeply about this purported issue every single year and I still think its bogus. I've owned the 3G, 4, 4s, 5s, 6s+, and my 7 has yet to arrive. All of my iPhones have been perfect, every single time. I've also looked at dozens of my friend's iPhones in-person and I have never seen a problem with their phones either. And believe me, I intimately understand kelvin temperatures...I'm a full-time professional photographer.

Do a few bad screens exist? Of course. But only in very tiny percentages and not all of the devices as you suggest.

Didnt say it was all and glad you've had such good luck. I had that same luck with the 6S. However every other phone has had issues. When your 7 gets to you, compare it side by side on the settings screen to verify the temp matches your old phone. If not..maybe there is something to these "crazy theories".

I agree with the OP. I don't see the improved brightness either. Keeping my 6S+ for another year. I'm mostly disappointed in the camera... maybe next year.

Heres a great example of what looks to be a correct iPhone 7 screen. This guy has some issues with uniformity, but it looks clear and legitimately brighter than the 6s:

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/yellow-gate.1996889/page-7#post-23491271

There are many other posts in that thread that show the bad 7 screens - the dingy ones. More proof that good screens exist, and yellow is not intentional.

That is great news!

I got the "launch screen" with the 6s, so getting a "launch screen" with the 7 along with the other features is a win!

As mentioned many times, the 6s didnt seem to have this issue, one of the only years. My thought is that there were no panel changes year over year, so no need to reboot the manuf process (seems like this happens at the beginning of a new LCD manuf process.)
[doublepost=1474146331][/doublepost]Another great example, using a display 7. The other display 7's had good screens, this one did not:
