Thanks man I appreciate it. I'm going to my nearest apple store tomorrow and hopefully everything goes all right.
Any updates about this?

I went to 2 apple stores and nothing but good. I told them I had issues with signal and that I was always on Edge and never have I been on 3G/4G. All they did was they restored my network setting and they told me to call t-mobile so they can fix the issueAny updates about this?
Hi,
I received my iPhone 5 replacement today from the Apple online store and the model/part number begins with "MD" and the serial number ends with "FH19".
Is this is a T-Mobile branded phone with the AWS 1700/2100 bands? Thanks!
Edit: I just noticed on the box that the phone came in that it supports the UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA 1700/2100 bands.
I got back in town last week! Went to a nearby apple store ( apple galleria houston texas) told them I have issue with wifi and cellular with my factory unlocked iphone that I got on release date! Then they gave me a new iphone 5 with the last serial number FH19now I'm a happy tmobile customer.
What version/update did it come with?

What version/update did it come with?
6.1.3 and i just updated it to 6.1.4 cuz not a single **** is given to jailbreak. Been jailbreak free for 2 years now, and I'm loving it.![]()
Same here. My replacement has 6.1.3.Not me. iOS6 is average at best without a jailbreak. I wish I could have gotten a replacement with 6.1.2.

I'm trying to find someone who has an unlocked T-Mobile 64GB in Black with 6.1.2 and offer them a trade for mine. Mine's not a week old yet!!!
Who wants to trade?![]()
Which apple store in NYC did you get lucky with?

. Now I have to wait a few days and see if the phone I'm getting will be the new model/AWS
Seems like if you get a replacement without AWS bands support, likely be 6.1.2 or lower.
However if you get AWS support almost guaranteed to be 6.1.3+.
I checked some friends who had iPhone swapped out, they were able to get AWS support but all had 6.1.3
Hello to all. Just joined and thought I'd share my experience. My power button started giving me problems, while on vacation, so I made an appointment at the apple store. I had the original unlocked 1428. I received the tweaked one with an "NE" model # and serial ending in FH19. It was on 6.1.3 Unfortunately, the next day the phone had a noticeable rattle coming from inside. It was not dropped. Not something I want to be hearing, especially on a refurb. Soo, I scheduled Another appointment. Genius guy said they would open it in the back to look at it. When it returned, I was told vibrator was cause of noise. And, they didn't seal it right. I was not pleased, and a supervisor just swapped it out, Again. This time I got the "ME" FH19 and was on 6.1.2! If I understand correctly from reading these forums, the "NE" is supposed to be the refurb and "ME" is new? Speed was excellent where I was, and no more E.
I'm in Toronto and had to get my iphone replaced. The replacement appears to support AWS according to the Apple documentation. Serial number ends with FH1F. Thought this may be useful info for the Canadians.

I think at this point, you are more likely to get a AWS compatible version than not. They haven't manufactured the non AWS version in almost a month. So stock is almost completely gone of the old model no matter what country you are in.
So I live in miami, any recommendations as to the best "reasons" to give an apple genius to get my iPhone 5 replaced. I just got a refurb back in January. Recently switched to Tmo and the lack of AWS is turning out to be a pain! LOL
So if I switch mine I wil get an aws one for sure
No. But it is likely at an Apple Store you will. But not guaranteed.
