That's my one big concern about my G2 so far. It's already picked up a mystery scratch that I can't explain, despite being in a screen-covering case. My iPhone 4 survived years of abuse uncovered.I know it's a display model but the other phones next to it didn't show any scratches at all. What's the deal with the screen on the G2? Can anyone that owns one reply with their experience regarding screen durability?
You should really take your own advice.......the need for you to feel some kind of one upmanship is very telling.....I am simply giving my feedback on the devices while testing them that many people may find beneficial. It's a phone, stop getting so worked up about it.
I have been seeing complaints about the camera over on XDA.
How do you rate the Camera? In comparison to the one on the iPhone 5?
And in low light? Can it do a good job of social pictures of friends indoors and in low light?
Cheers!
I had the G2 for 2 weeks. Camera was inconsistent. Could be awesome at times. Other times pictures were blurry or just "off". Low light was good with a steady hand and stationary objects. Any type of moving objects caused problems for the camera in any lighting condition. Also it had problems with exposure, more so than most cell phone cameras.
used both and g2 beats iphone 5 in almost all situations for me .

Just left Verizon store after playing with this phone. Almost bought it as it is pretty impressive. Only thing that stopped me was the screen itself. It looks great except that it was scratched to hell.

Maybe it's a softer glass compared to others. Too bad I was ready to buy it otherwise. Not fan screen protectors so that's out.
I would have considered that had I really liked the G2 but there were other things I didn't like. The buttons on the back and the on screen keys started to annoy me after a few days. The speaker was bad, i hated the camera and i didn't like having to use Chrome. Thanks though

Have you used the G2 to take pictures of people Indoors?
How is the focusing? Does the images came out with motion blur due to people not being still? Any different from the iPhone focusing?
Cheers!
This fixed many of the camera problems I was having, but still it is pretty damn good for a phone.
XDA: Requires root and Flashify or TWRP
[MOD][ALL MODELS] Camera Experimental V2.5.4 720P 60 FPS [FPS FIXED]
Sorry to mention the camera again, but the camera on a phone is a big deal to me as I don't use a dedicated camera anymore.
In regard to overall quality, in all situations, daylight, low light, detail, color, Auto-focus performance, what is the better camera, the G2 or the Xperia Z1?
On paper, with the 1/2.3 sensor and f2.0 G lens, the Xperia should pull quite ahead, but I have also been reading complaints about the Z1's camera.
Cheers!
If camera quality is that important to you, you should either have the 5s or Lumia 1020

The lumia 1020 I know is the king of phone cameras. But in regard to the 5s, is it really superior to the G2 and Z1?
Today I've had moderate use, with no attempt to conserve battery (e.g. by switching radios on/off).
On battery: 14h 54m, screen on: 2h 40m, 56% battery remaining.
It's decided. I'm selling my iPhone 5S and am getting the G2 later on this week/early next week. This battery life just seems to good.
Good luck. I'm curious, though: I was pretty close to getting the 5s, so it would be interesting to hear what's behind your decision.
Battery life and the display, for the most part. Even though I hated my GS4 (mostly because of Touchwiz and how laggy and bloated it was), I hadn't realized how much I'd become accustomed to having a big display. It truly is difficult to go back to a smaller one once you've gotten used to it. That along with sub-par battery life on the S4 led to me selling it and hoping to return to iOS when the 5S was released hoping for better battery life. Battery life is the same as on the GS4, and sometimes, even worse. And again, the tiny display.
The G2 seems to have everything the S4 had, but with improvements. Larger, better IPS LCD, significantly better battery life, similar UI that offers WAY more customization and seems to be much less laggy and bloated. One thing I disliked a lot about Touchwiz is that with a lot of the stuff that I hated about it, I had to live with it. On the G2, however, LG's UI is so customizable that anything that I dislike about it can be removed or disabled. And again, it's SO much less laggy, not to mention that in LG's UI they allow you to swipe between tabs. That's huge, especially for a big screened device.
If the rumors for the iPhone 6 are true and it does end up having a bigger display that utilizes IGZO technology, that'll mean massive battery savings. That along with the bigger sola would be all I need to come back to iOS, because personally I love everything about iOS 7. The display and battery are just holding me back.
