I know it's a display model but the other phones next to it didn't show any scratches at all. What's the deal with the screen on the G2? Can anyone that owns one reply with their experience regarding screen durability?
That's my one big concern about my G2 so far. It's already picked up a mystery scratch that I can't explain, despite being in a screen-covering case. My iPhone 4 survived years of abuse uncovered.

Of course something may just have happened to the G2 that I didn't notice, but it's a worrying start.

I have been seeing complaints about the camera over on XDA.
How do you rate the Camera? In comparison to the one on the iPhone 5?
And in low light? Can it do a good job of social pictures of friends indoors and in low light?

Cheers!

I am simply giving my feedback on the devices while testing them that many people may find beneficial. It's a phone, stop getting so worked up about it.
You should really take your own advice.......the need for you to feel some kind of one upmanship is very telling.....

I had the G2 for 2 weeks. Camera was inconsistent. Could be awesome at times. Other times pictures were blurry or just "off". Low light was good with a steady hand and stationary objects. Any type of moving objects caused problems for the camera in any lighting condition. Also it had problems with exposure, more so than most cell phone cameras.

Have you used the G2 to take pictures of people Indoors?
How is the focusing? Does the images came out with motion blur due to people not being still? Any different from the iPhone focusing?

Cheers!

My wife has iphone 5. I find it to be more consistent with color and exposure. Better with moving items in photo. The G2 if conditions were right could definitely take the better more detailed photo. But just a day with random quick shots the iphone 5 seems much more consistent.

Just left Verizon store after playing with this phone. Almost bought it as it is pretty impressive. Only thing that stopped me was the screen itself. It looks great except that it was scratched to hell.

I know it's a display model but the other phones next to it didn't show any scratches at all. What's the deal with the screen on the G2? Can anyone that owns one reply with their experience regarding screen durability?

Maybe it's a softer glass compared to others. Too bad I was ready to buy it otherwise. Not fan screen protectors so that's out.

I have been using mine naked, I just can't stand anything other than the feel of glass. Not a single blemish or scratch on it, but I'm super careful with it and it only goes in my one pocket never with anything else.

I haven't seen LG mention who makes the glass in their specs so I'm not sure who makes it, if it's gorilla glass or some other variant. I'd be curious which one it was though.

----------

I would have considered that had I really liked the G2 but there were other things I didn't like. The buttons on the back and the on screen keys started to annoy me after a few days. The speaker was bad, i hated the camera and i didn't like having to use Chrome. Thanks though

See, this makes sense. I'm not thrilled with the rear placed buttons. The on screen keys also drove me nuts, but thankfully there is a VERY easy solution to that in GMD auto hide softkeys. The speaker does suck, you can pump it up substantially though by editing a text file, but it requires root and again is something which should have been configured out of the box by LG. Chrome is ok, I don't have issues with it, but I can understand if it's not your preferred browser.

These are all legit points and make sense for you to ditch your G2. But the whole battery tirade is far from a legit point, you need to just drop that one and step away slowly.

Yeah I'd say that's about how mine is.

I just checked LG PC Suite and it has a Mobile Device Migration tool.
Anyone used it to transfer iPhone data to a G2?
What does it transfer? How were the results?

Cheers!

The g2 was the one Android phone that I was thinking of getting over the 5S. I did get the 5S instead but the g2 seems so nice. I heard battery life is amazing. Depending on what Android comes out with next fall, I might switch to Android. I recently got the Nexus 7 (2013) so I am learning Android, and I really like it. It's amazing that on Android you can do things that you can only do on a jailbroken iPhone.

Sorry to mention the camera again, but the camera on a phone is a big deal to me as I don't use a dedicated camera anymore.

In regard to overall quality, in all situations, daylight, low light, detail, color, Auto-focus performance, what is the better camera, the G2 or the Xperia Z1?
On paper, with the 1/2.3 sensor and f2.0 G lens, the Xperia should pull quite ahead, but I have also been reading complaints about the Z1's camera.

Cheers!

If camera quality is that important to you, you should either have the 5s or Lumia 1020

Cant speak for the Lumia 1020, however the LG G2 came joint first place with the Galaxy S4 in relation to its camera.

iPhone 5S only came in 3rd place.

The lumia 1020 I know is the king of phone cameras. But in regard to the 5s, is it really superior to the G2 and Z1?

Not in the slightest, have a look at this comparison for more details.

I got my LG G2 yesterday and so far im very impressed :)

Today I've had moderate use, with no attempt to conserve battery (e.g. by switching radios on/off).

On battery: 14h 54m, screen on: 2h 40m, 56% battery remaining.

It's decided. I'm selling my iPhone 5S and am getting the G2 later on this week/early next week. This battery life just seems to good.

Good luck. I'm curious, though: I was pretty close to getting the 5s, so it would be interesting to hear what's behind your decision.

Battery life and the display, for the most part. Even though I hated my GS4 (mostly because of Touchwiz and how laggy and bloated it was), I hadn't realized how much I'd become accustomed to having a big display. It truly is difficult to go back to a smaller one once you've gotten used to it. That along with sub-par battery life on the S4 led to me selling it and hoping to return to iOS when the 5S was released hoping for better battery life. Battery life is the same as on the GS4, and sometimes, even worse. And again, the tiny display.

The G2 seems to have everything the S4 had, but with improvements. Larger, better IPS LCD, significantly better battery life, similar UI that offers WAY more customization and seems to be much less laggy and bloated. One thing I disliked a lot about Touchwiz is that with a lot of the stuff that I hated about it, I had to live with it. On the G2, however, LG's UI is so customizable that anything that I dislike about it can be removed or disabled. And again, it's SO much less laggy, not to mention that in LG's UI they allow you to swipe between tabs. That's huge, especially for a big screened device.

If the rumors for the iPhone 6 are true and it does end up having a bigger display that utilizes IGZO technology, that'll mean massive battery savings. That along with the bigger sola would be all I need to come back to iOS, because personally I love everything about iOS 7. The display and battery are just holding me back.

Thanks for that. It sounds like we're in a similar place; if the 5s had a bigger screen, I doubt I'd have switched.
