That time of year. Spring and fall are dangerous for folks like us.
But what is it offering that we don't already have? With pixel 2 and the s8 with 835 processor upcoming I hesitate to "jump" to this g6.

agree with everything you said...... I just happen to have 2 JoD lines so i can jump to both phones. But...if I only had one jump...i would wait to see what Samsung has to offer first just based on past experiences. But what is it offering that we don't already have? Which phone did you "jump" from? Just curious. It was not the s7e, was it?
Yes...jumped from the s7e to G6
I am not sure yet....I like flat displays to be honest. But will get the S8 and see if the curved screens have evolved. And if you like the s8, would you return the lg g6 or use your other jump for the s8?

None of these phones do anything vastly different than the ones they're replacing. There's a subset of us who are conditioned to want the latest and greatest regardless of the incremental upgrade.
Trust me that I can relate to that.
Is it even an incremental upgrade though? Except for the 2:1 ratio it is just too close to other 820 processor flagships for me really to get that excited about. The price is probably in the ballpark but it would steer me more towards it if it was lower considering I have lots of other smartphones already.
That's disappointing .. as great as manual controls are, we still should be able to trust point & shoot. Perhaps because it was dusky ? Maybe the LG auto mode doesn't like low light ?So tested the camera this evening on a little hike. The pics cane out really blurry. All I did was pointt and shoot. It was right at dusk.....
Our dog was was hardly moving in her shots. Kinda underwhelmed with the camera.
You could be right about low light. I know some of the daylight pics have been really nice. But I know the Pixel, S7e and 7+ would not have had this problem. I am disappointed in these shots to say the least. I will do more testing and see what happens. But camera is a deal breaker for me. I have a 9 year old son and am outdoors a lot and need a great camera. That's disappointing .. as great as manual controls are, we still should be able to trust point & shoot. The colors are pretty normal from what i can see. I am getting a lot of blurry photos in any thing that is moving. Still photos come out great. But pics with movement are getting a lot of blur in them. Even just slight movement creates blur. I think the camera sensor has trouble either focusing fast enough or the processing is not doing its job. How's the color accuracy? My iPhone 7 Plus warms things a tiny bit to the pink or rosy side but is accurate enough for my standards. My Samsungs do so many odd subtle changes and boosts to individual colors that accuracy flies out the window, but it's all pretty in a Fujifilm way. I prefer accuracy honestly.
For action shots with movement......I would not recommend the G6 to be honest. Can you please please please test it out on your dog? Taking photos of my dog is a main point for me, but the iPhone camera can get confused with his black and white fur and smudge it! I haven't tested the 7 Plus on him. If the G6 camera isn't too good either I may have to see what the iPhone 8 is like...
One of my main points is a camera that in auto mode takes great photos and videos of everything and my dog! If the camera can't do it, no sale.
I really am not interested in using a multitude of camera settings to 'setup' the shot.
So far from what your saying this is a no for this phone for me. I really don't want to spend a fortune, it if earns I get a new design tiny bezel or bezeless phone with a big screen and great camera then I will buy an iPhone 8 if needed.

Not sure I will keep it right now. I am going to check with TMO to see if I can keep my S7e.Yeah, and that's what dogs do haha, buggers hardly ever stay still! Hmmm I'll see how you get in with it still though, let's see if it improves with firmware updates.

Wait, didn't MRU patent the cute doggies on the beach pics?
