A focus group reported that wireless charging wasn't seen as important to most Europeans. Lg listened sadly.

I kinda get it. It's a cool feature but sooo completely unnecessary. I don't mean that to shoo away anyone who loves it or why they love it, but it really doesn't enhance the function of the phone in any demonstrative way. laying a phone down on something vs sticking a cable in really is negligible.

It's one of those features where cost wise it really should have been in all of the handsets given its a negligible cost impact and the logic board has the connection for the charging module in all of the G6's even though they failed to include the coil outside of USA.

For me it's not a big deal, but the varying SKU's based on territory still irks a little.

Pick up an LG G6 from AT&T for just $360 when you finance

We don't often see ridiculously strong deals on brand new phones, but AT&T is working up a really enticing one for those who want the latest from LG. AT&T customers (new and existing) can pick up an LG G6 for just $360, or half its retail price, if they choose to finance the phone using an AT&T Next plan of 24 or 30 monthly installments. So that breaks down to just $12 per month on the 30 month plan, or $15 per month on the 24 month plan. A great deal in either case.

Don't blame you on that piece. I won't even look in the G6's direction due to the 32gb limit here in the States. I actually prefer their version of "bezel-less" to Samsung's. I like the G6's form factor more than the S8 but that storage limit is a non-starter for me.

For the T-Mobile G6 owners:

Is the boot-loader locked? How bad is the stock OS? Last time I used the LG stock rom, it was the G3 and it was a bloody buggy mess. If this phone drops to $250-$300 by September and if I upgrade to the Note 8 and don't like that or the iPhone 8, I could see myself rocking an One Plus 5 or LG G6.

That price really does not make much sense at this point so close to release. Maybe it got killed by the Samsungs?

I suppose its technically AT&T who are subsidising it in order to get more users / lines. Much like how you often get the BOGOF deals in the USA (which fundamentally work out the same as giving two away half price). They want the monthly tariff and that user tied into an agreement with them for the next 2 years.

It's not really to be seen as an indictment of quality of the LG, just as the BOGOF deals are not an indictment of Samsung. It's just how your carriers seemingly whore themselves out over there.

Got my white model ...

It's lovely. Doesn't attract fingerprints and interestingly has a screen protector pre-fitted.

The gold is very very subtle. It's just a lovely looking phone.

Was at the T-Mobile store last night window shopping for fun. The S8 / S8+ was nice, but certainly did not blow me away. Just really not a fan of curved edges. I tried typing in the keyboard and the outer edges falling off the screen was annoying. Those phones aren't my cup of tea

Wasn't planning on looking at the LG G6, but since I was there, thought why not. And was very surprised very nice phone. Great high end build. Good screen to body ratio. Super very snappy fast. Nice flat screen. Overall a great phone.

The performance issues I experienced on the Korean variant are no where to be found on this UK model. Very little preinstalled LG bloat. Will have to see if there is much difference battery wise.

Interesting to read the spec's on the G6 versus the V20. They actually seem enough alike to sort of remind me of the "S" iterations on iPhones. I bought the V20 six months ago for three primary reasons:
1) has a headphone jack (main reason I bought over the iPhone 7)
2) has great 4 channel DAC hardware to go with that jack
3) has an easily swappable/removable battery

It looks like the G6 has a faster processor and is thinner (partly due to the lack of a removable battery). I don't know how its sound engine compares to the V20 which, along with its removable battery, is a great selling point for the V20. If I didn't already have a V20, I'd be in a quandary as to which of these phones to buy. It's been so long since I had a phone with a removable battery (Galaxy S2, I think) that it was a breath of fresh air to have that option again with the V20. They are both nice phones - it almost looks like they're competing with each other for the same market.

I definitely think that the wider screen would be better for typing on the keyboard. The narrow display of the S8 does make it difficult for me.

If I was to buy this I'd go black all the way! But all of the colours do look really good.

That is one my one gripe about the S8+ is the typing experience. Coming from a very wide 7+ it has definitely taken some time to get used to.

Other than that though, the screen is absolutely amazing and the design of the phone steals it for me. I havent seen the G6 in person but havent been a fan of any of LG's devices and their skins.

Back with more gushing.

I love using the LG G6.

It just does everything I want from a modern day smartphone with aplomb.

Too bad it's being bullied by the St, but Im totally floored by it.

Also, I life the ability to theme it without using Nova, which I'm using too, but whatever.

Anyhoo, love seeing pictures of the white model; it looks very dope.

Really hoping this phone does well.

Where did you pick up a UK version from?

An eBay seller / retailer. They had them listed Buy It Now for more than I paid actually, as I just took an off chance on one advert that was an auction and won it for around €80-100 less than their other BIN listings.
