Why

how is this possible to have stock on monday morning? there weren't deliveries on sunday? they have to have been hiding em in the back...
Help me understand the benefit to posting ******** informaiton when you know it can be validated ? It takes 2 seconds to call a store and confirm. I see most people posting crap are regulars which is strange. What is gained by your lies ?

Freehold NJ store

I just got a call from Freehold NJ Apple Store saying they had a unit for me and they would hold it until close today. I left my name on Friday and asked for a 1.6 HDD. I don't know if they will have any not on hold today or if there are any SSD models but I should be getting mine tonight.

I know! I just bought a Black Macbook on Saturday because I was so upset. Now I of course want to get an AIR. I was treated rudely by the employees, and I wonder if I could not pay the restocking fee for an "upgrade"?

Buy Both! Or keep the MBP

If you can't decide between the MBA and the MBP then you probably should keep the Pro. If you don't have a primary Mac already, the MBA probably won't suit your needs. If you just want a lightweight mac for internet, email, iPhoto, etc., then you may want to consider the Air. It really depends on what you need it for.

Well I have a Aluminum iMac at home thats 2GHz/4GB/250GB, so I have a power machine if I need it. I like the extra space on the screen on the MBP but the MBA is so dang small.

I wonder if they would make an exception to their 10% restocking fee since I am buying another Mac.

Just called my local store in WI, they have one base model and could not hold it. They would also not waive any open box fee for the Macbook I purchased on Saturday. Crap, I don't know why I just could have waited for it! Oh well.

The Tulsa store said that most of Texas just got theirs. And since we have the same supplier, we ought to see them soon.

He also said that they get 10:30 and 5pm deliveries. If it comes at 5, they wouldn't put it on the floor.

Finally success in NYC!!

Went into the 14th Street store a little after 10 am...asked the guy if they had any in stock, he literally looked to see if anyone was listening and told me they just got some in. He told me he would go to the back and for me to go to the front desk. He came back and placed it on a desk behind the register and a guy literally stood in front of it to block it from view. When I asked him how many they received in he said he couldn't say...this was my 4th trip in to a MAC store (I went to all 3 in NYC) so I feel like I earned it. Still confused over why all the secrecy. jj

Wow, looks like you were able to hold it! I was told specifically that I could not place a hold on a unit at my local store. Nice!

Sweetness, Freehold Mall Store in NJ just called me they got them in. They are holding a SSD version for me until close! I'll be picking up one after work. Might dodge out a bit earlier so I don't hit any traffic.

Pittsburgh Shadyside has both SSD and HDD in stock... they also magically went from 1 demo unit to 3...

I bought a HDD during lunch + ethernet adapter!
