Northpark Mall - Dallas, TX

Well I was just at Northpark Mall about an hour and a half ago and I witnessed the first Macbook Air go out the door. So they are definitely on sale at Northpark. The guy who bought it said to talk to Kurt, he was the one who sold it to him. When I first got there all I heard was they still didn't even have a shipment but lo and behold 30 min. later a guy walks out with one. So to all my Dallas people they're there at Northpark...:apple:

Decision time...

They have them in at the Apple Store in Jax which is a 5 hour drive from here round trip. They actually put one of the base models on hold for me. So, the caveat is I sacrifice my $100.00 discount that I got with my online order (ship date by 2/20)but...I can have it in my hands today!
I've always been patient and ordered online or w/ Amazon (have an order with them too-gold box discount no less but still no telling when it will ship-blanket date of 3/27 still) to get the best price, but I'm thinking I may just take a road trip today and the heck with the $! I just once would like to walk out of an Apple store with a computer purchase and experience that instant gratification feeling :D

One question: if for some reason I needed to exchange it or return it, could I just call Apple support or would i have to drive all the way back to Jax?

christiana delaware: my friend and i picked up the last 1.6s but when we checked there were still 1.8 with ssds. good luck guys.

cambridge side DEFINITELY has them in now! she wont tell me how many, but they have the 80gigers. Now im screwed cus i cant go on break again to pick one up :( EMIL..can you do me a HUGE one?

I picked one up at CambridgeSide at about 12, noon. The had 1 - SSD and 3 - Base configs left when I left there.

They have one demo unit (HDD/1.6).

Guess it's better than a swift kick in the butt!

I don't have enough extra cash to pick another one up. Sorry. Although, you might get lucky after work.

As of 12PM, they had both flavors available for sale. They wouldn't tell me how many they have so you may want to call first.

Just picked up an Air, they received "a handful" today and while I was buying mine there was other one being rung up. They said last week they only received one for sale. At the time of posting this e-mail, I estimate this location has stock till about 2pm CST.

I cancelled my order that was placed on January 24 (with a deliver by date of February 18th).

I think there's a lesson in here for future purchasing of Apple products in short supply (as opposed to software releases): If you live in facility of an Apple store, it's best to call them, rather than order online -- if speed of getting the product is important.

The San Francisco Stockton Street store has said this morning that they'll be getting in a supply for sale later today, though they're apparently only expecting the 1.6 version. My OH has a peersonal shopping appointment at 11am (PST) when he's been told he should be able to get one.

He was originally planning on holding out for the 1.8, but I think he's decided the 1.6 will cover his needs.

The store was pretty empty when I was there at noon. The only customers there didn't seem to have much interest in the Air, they were mostly looking at accessories/software.

I mentioned in my other post that they had 3 more Base models and 1 more SSD left. The guy I asked offered those numbers, without prompting. You might see if they can hold one for you.

So, like I said, you might have some luck when you go back.

It was nice meeting you too. Actually, having you and the other guy and his wife to talk to, made that day bearable.

I just reserved one over the phone, so I must have been the one reserving over the phone LOL.. I'm picking it up in 30'

they have one ssd left and I'm waiting for it, they have been in the back for 5 minutes now oops here of is. Done. They only have 3 hdds left

Im in the same boat... they wouldnt hold one for me either. I cant believe the inconsistant store policies to be honest.
