this is my first post but i've been following this thread and the store status thread. after spending the past two days driving from apple store to apple store (stockton, chestnut, corte madera) (and getting one parking ticket because of it) i've decided that it will just make me crazy to keep searching in stores so i bit the bullet and placed an online order. it gives me a ship date of feb 26 but i'm hoping it will be alot sooner. (really hoping...)
if it comes to a local store before my package ships i will most likely cancel the order and get it in store but im hoping i wont have to do that.
just thought i'd add a post.
any hope of shipping before the 26th?

My thoughts exactly, I did the same thing and ordered mine yesterday with a ship date by 2/25.

Hey guys, I'm with you...I just ordered my CTO Air about an hour ago. Projected shipping says it'll be 2-3 weeks but now with Apple getting the ball rolling with moving these things out, do you think it could be sooner?

I'm REALLy hoping it does, seeing as how all the apple stores in my area are getting very small shipments (like 4 every few days).

Does anyone have any experience regarding which bag would protect best against dents?

I would greatly appreciate any input, as I want to preserve my MBA's great looks!

Thanks in advance.

Myself and a number of other people who have posted here. Have bought the Waterfield Sleeve size 13-2.

This was not my first Waterfield. I received my MBA sleeve earlier this week, and it's great. Great protection, good looking, very well made, and excellent customization options.

I went for the Waterfield sleeve as well (MBA - #13-2), as their products were highly recommended on this thread. In fact, I decided to go for a Cargo bag (mambo deal) - seems like a very solidly constructed product, which will probably beat my MBA to my doorstep :(.

Mine is in Orlando, I live a hour away..... I hate fed ex, but hate UPS More...

I've never ordered from the Apple Store on line for a computer. Always got them at my local Apple Store B&M. I must say waiting for this to ship and following it though missing Fedex cutoffs and being "held" and snow and whatever has been most interesting.

I have had to go an hour to a FedEx location to pick up a shipment because they stopped at my house and I wasn't home. Problem was they never left a slip or anything so I never knew they were there. LOL So FedEx is not my favorite.

Something told me to order this time on line which I did. The release of these to stores is really puzzling. If you have something to sell why not sell it?

By the way DHL is the worst ever!!!!

The Tom Bihn offers the best dent protection in that group. The others are soft-sided bags without hard inserts. Brenthaven also makes good dent-resistant cases with plastic inserts (you can find these inside most Apple stores as well).

I've learned the hard way about bags that value style over protection when it comes to aluminum notebooks. Hard shells or stiff plastic liners are the way to go, if dents are a primary concern.

I have to say, though, that the MacBook Air looks much more dent-resistant than the MacBook Pro, especially around the edges and dent-magnet corners. That tapered edge design should prove to be very durable.

Some users got their MBA around the same time as the pre-orders. Others got them from the store, and you can see, many pre-orders still have not recieved them. Apple did a good job by not doing an all out release before most of the pre-orders were covered.

Well I am hoping hoping my MacBook Air is a keeper?????:D

No problems so far right?

By the way my superdrive shipped 3 days after my computer and my arrive at the same time:)

i sure hope so! hhaha
the only thing ive seen so far was one guy had his air not perflectly flat so if you push on the left edge it dip a lil bit but he was saying after a bit it kinda settled .. thats my biggest concern right now

other complain about the amount of hdd space.. not being enough..
and other is the mono speaker.. but both of these i dont' care so much about i know 80gb is more than enough for what i plan to use it for and speaker i used my headphones most of the time hehe

and yea superdrive mine came from the US
and yea suppose to arrive the same time as my air also lol
