Prior to the MBA release when it was all rumors I did the online chat through the apple store and tried to get info but the first guy wasn't helpful at all. So after ending that chat I got the brillant idea to just try and chat with a different agent so opened another chat window about 3 minutes after closing the first one. I got "welcome back, I saw you were just chatting with Joe" so yeah they knew I was just on their system with a different agent, They are sneaky down there at Apple

That explains why I got the same dum*a**. Answer from both of them.
They probably also knew that I called Apple Store Customer Service about 16 times since 1/17. Damm

Since it looks like the stores will get them on Friday, my bet is that the 2-3 day orders are shipping to be on time for a Friday delivery, and that the overnight delivery people will have theirs shipped on Thursday for a Friday delivery. If this is true....I'd feel sorry for the people who actually paid for overnight delivery...

We have no idea though what supply and demand will be like at the store. It's very possible many might not receive their pre-order by the time they hit store shelves. Availability in store is a whole other question. Store Reps have been now telling me to make Personal Shopper appointments because of how crazy it's going to be. I think they have an idea at how crazy it's going to be fsom the amount of phone calls and emails they receive.

How are people making personal shopper appointments when they dont have a date?

Still, the nice thing about pre-order is that even if it doesn't come asap, you're guaranteed a unit, whereas a gambling on getting a unit at the store may prove to be a bad bet if this is going to be a popular item.
