Any place but here or there....
I have the Mini and the keyboard problem when I first installed was one of the most ridiculous things I have ever had to deal with in my entire history of using Apple products.

It didn't recognize my very common Logitech wireless but thankfully my daughter had a wired gaming keyboard and I was able to install with that.

After that (and specifically 11.0.1) it has been smooth sailing.
That not recognize keyboard issue popped up for me with a reinstall of Sierra. It’s why I wish Apple still made wired keyboards.

Glad you were able to get that to work.

Seeing a lot of issues I had mentioned in this thread, I’ll wait for a Mac Mini that has 32gb of RAM before trying again. I do not have the patience for early adoption though.

Mac Mini M1 8GB. Issues are:

1. BT issues with mouse and keyboard. Switched to Logitech w/ mini receiver and still have issues with pointer stalling for brief moments during movement. Had to switch to wired KB and mouse. I do have USB hubs connected to each USB-A port, so maybe that, but the Logitech receiver was connected to a hub that is within inches of the mouse and still was erratic.
2. My Mac Mini has insomnia. It will not go to sleep. It's always on. But, it draws like 4W so I don't really care.
3. Placeholder for yet-to-be-found issue. :)

That's it so far.

I increase the mouse cursor tracking speed to improve performance of 3rd party Bluetooth mice. It helps until there is a better fix.

I missed this thread - MacBook Pro 8gb -

I have 3 tabs open on Safari with not a single other application open with one of those tabs running a video. The page keeps refreshing because it is using significant memory. Memory hits between 6.5-7gb, refreshes the page, drops down to 5gb and then starts slowly working its way up again before refreshing...again

also, MacBook Pro M1 512/8gb using a cal digit dock. When the computer wakes from sleep the external monitor won't reconnect. Have to either restart the machine or unplug the monitor from the dock and plug directly into the MacBook

Must be quite a video!

That's not normal.

So far no trouble updating to 11.0.1 here. I understand that has been an issue for others. Maybe not an M1 issue, but certainly a Big Sur one: the prompt that appears when changing settings in System Preferences doesn't let me select the text box and actually enter my password. Need to close out of System Preferences entirely and retry my change in order for the dialog box to appear correctly.

I have one question why only 8GB of RAM? You configured your Intel Mini with 32GB and your 2019 MBP with 16GB. I suspect that might be the cause of some of your problems.
It probably is. The 8GB model was there the next day, the 16GB model would have taken another month. As I can return the Mac mini until the beginning of January, I still have some time to test.

And the Amazon bought M1 MBA can be returned until the end of January, which is quite nice - the return window and the MBA.

Really bugging me that neither Apple Support or anyone on the internet seems to know if Power Nap is still a thing, or if it works when on battery power anymore.

Energy Saver panel is gone and Battery settings different to Intel Macs.

Seems the Mac doesn't do any network related Power Nap stuff anymore unless connected to power source.

Also annoying Split Tunnelling is not available on ExpressVPN.

Issues on my MacBook Air M1 8GB 512GB:

- Wester Digital My Passport Pro Wireless -> Doesn't mount. Works fine on 16" MB Pro.
- DisplayCal App: Doesn't see internal screen. -> Cannot calibrate internal screen.

Fingers crossed for some updates :)

The same happens on the WhatsApp page on my 8GB MBA.
Also some videos in the WhatsApp page work without any problem, and for some it says the video can't be played.

I have the same issue with my Apple Display using a USB C to Lightning adapter for the old monitor. My HDMI 4k monitor works, but the secondary monitor doesn't after it wakes up.

Hi Kaihes, as for DisplayCal, were you able to calibrate the external display? Which HW calibrator are you using?
Thanks!

I Have M1 MBP and Mouse can be slow (HP wireless with receiver plugged into USB C Hub), and a BT Jelly comb amazon special keyboard that works fine with my old mbp from 2014. It types, but the shortvuts (volume etc) don't do anything.

So I’m curious to see what issues will be popping up with M1 Macs once more users start using them. Please post it here!

Here is what I just stumbled upon:

Interesting thread.

I am not able to install incompatible apps. Thought everything was backward compatible through the magic of Rosetta?

I wanted to give Command & Conquer a try that I purchased in 2015, but maybe it would then be a Rosetta of a port? Anyway, App Store doesn’t give the install option. Pity.
