Please add the Apple 27" Thunderbolt Display MC914LL/A connected with an Apple TB3>TB2 adaptor MMEL2AMA/A

Verified on a 16gb / 1TB M1 Mini:
The Display operates as it should, including the controls in System Preferences.
USB ports operate correctly.
FaceTime HD webcam operates correctly
Speakers operate correctly
FireWire800 port operates correctly
Both the display itself and the connected devices are reported in System Report as expected.

The Thunderbolt Display does seem to take a second or two longer to wake up than the 27" LED Cinema Display.
Apple Thunderbolt Display works with M1 Mini using the T3 to T2 Apple adapter. I have that currently in use also with no issues. Big Sur v.4

Finally got my M1 Mac mini, pairing with BenQ PD2700u. It works fantastic with HDMI or DisplayPort. It just work straight away once I connect everything, and the only adjustment I did is set the "Scaled" to the second on the right setting.

Will update if I encounter any problem.

From what I can tell, the U3419W is 10bit and the U2520D is 8bit. My P3421W (10bit) runs YPbPr on every cable I've tried, my P2419H (8bit panel) will run in RGB with a USB-C to DP cable. Wonder if the issue is related to the colour depth of the panel?
Hi,

I also have a P3421W purchased recently and tried everything I could find online but still can't get it to display HiDPI. It works in the standard resolution for it which is 3440 x 1440 but the fonts and windows are too small for me.

Plus sharpness (edges around the font) also bothers me.

Laptop is a 2018 4TB MBP.

I also have a 2020 4TB MBP with an 32" non ultra wide LG and when I go to Preferences > Display > Scaled it shows me this....

Screen Shot 2021-07-26 at 5.46.07 PM.png

while on the Dell ultra wide P3421W it shows me a list of resolutions (even with holding Option while clicking it).

Any tips on fixing the Dell one? If not I'll have to take it back... can't stand the small windows and fonts plus bad sharpness, hurts my eyes.

Thanks!

PS. If I take it back, do you think a 2k monitor is enough to display HiDPI (use it like a Retina one) or do I need 4k monitor? Thank you!! :)

Mac mini M1, LG 27850ul usb c to usb c. Samsungs27D850 HDMI to HDMI. No problems. Both 2560x1440. If I go 4K on the LG the text si too small. No problems waking from sleep. Apple Watch 6 Wakes it up no issues.

Just checking on on the Dell U2720Q, is it working in RGB mode or still stuck in YPbPr?

Hi all !

With the threads multiplying about monitor choices for the Mac mini M1 and since I got many likes about my proposition to create a wiki thread listing compatible monitors, I decided to create a wiki thread where everyone could contribute.

If you have a monitor which is compatible with the Mac mini, please list it here below. If it required any special manipulation/setting/adapter, please mention it in the appropriate section.

YPbPr with USB-C only (2560x1440 @60hz), or RGB with HDMI over the QGeeM Hub (2560x1440 @60hz)Select native resolution for the monitor (2560x1440). Fonts look a little blurry / fuzzy. Reduced the Apple Font Smoothing to 1 (if I choose 0, the fonts are thinner and more fuzzy). The colors looks to me OK even with YPbPr- the contrast is overall a little bit less I think. Switch to RGB with HDMI with help of the QGeem Hub: I can't see any major difference in color- the contrast is better I think.

I have the P3421W plugged into a 2018 Intel Mini and I really don't see what you see. Fonts are a nice size and whilst I have turned off all the font smoothing its all very nice looking and Windows are normal sizes.

Just to say that I’ve got a LG 27UL850W plugged in via USB-C and an old Dell U2410 via HDMI. Both working well.

I have a M1 mini coming in a few weeks. Reading over the post here and other places I see lots of issues with minis and 4K displays. I also see some success. Is it safe to assume 2K monitors do not have as many or any issues with the M1 Minis?

Does anybody know if Philips 288E2UAE is compatible with Mini M1?

It's a pretty good monitor for it's price.

Older Phillips models seem to not work well with M1, perhaps because of the outdated Display port version. But this one is a 2020/2021 model I think

The issue with 27 inch 4K monitors and Mac OS is that anything other than full native 4K with no scaling or HiDPI “looks like 1920x1080” will appear softer in terms of the UI, plus it also impacts the UI fludity/ performance.

I’d like to see Apple do something like what Windows does for scaling it’s UI which doesn’t have this issue.

Ironically, macOS did have non-integer UI scaling (from 50 to 300%), like Windows does, from 2005 to 2011. It was extremely unfinished and glitchy though.

Just set up (still futzing with settings) a Viewsonic VG2455. It was the cheapest USB-C Monitor+Hub I came across. USB-C working fine so I'm pretty happy.

This is worthwhile! Also, it's really compact! As a result, the Asus ProArt series is fantastic!

Hi guys
Is it in any way possible to hook up a portible monitor wirelessly to the mac mini?
I have this dream of a portable multi touch screen hooked up to the mac mini. I dont fill like going for an Ipad, even though it might be the only solution as far as my reseach has taking me.
Could be wireless hdmi?
Any solution is very welcome

New to mini just bought samsung smart monitor m5 32 in, plan on returning to sams club but I might keep refresh only 60 hz though. Wife like the monitor so I might buy a different with better refresh rate. Hdmi

Just checking on on the Dell U2720Q, is it working in RGB mode or still stuck in YPbPr?

Not really sure it's been fixed, but I just noticed that Big Sur 11.5.2 has removed the ability to use HDR in the Displays prefs, which in my case would cause the issue with my U2720Q using Ypbpr instead of RGB. So maybe that's Apple's solution....?!

Just restarted the Mac mini and the HDR option has re-appeared and the Dell is back to YPbPr 😢

Does anybody here know or have an LG Ergo? Was wondering if the M1 works well with them. Thanks!
