Here is Altona's:

http://www.atlona.com/Atlona-DVI-to-Mini-DisplayPort-Converter-p-17859.html

The Atlona AT-DP200 is a DVI to Mini DisplayPort converter designed to convert every Mac or PC computer's DVI or mini-DVI signal to a digital signal over a Mini DisplayPort connector, which is currently used on the Apple 24'' Display. The AT-DP200 allows users to extend their desktop to an Apple 24''(or similar DisplayPort display).

# Input: DVI female (digital signal only)
# Output: Mini Display Port female
# Resolutions: all resolutions up to 1920x1200 (It is Important to select one of the resolutions that display is capable of displaying, refer to your display's users manual)

Seems to go for around $150-175.

The Geffen one is on pre-order, but is $50 cheaper at MSRP of $125 though it is not dual-link.

Allow your DVI computer to use displays equipped with the Mini Displayport interface.
The DVI to Mini-DisplayPort Converter enables computers with a single-link digital DVI-D interface to utilize display devices that have the Mini-DisplayPort interface.

# Input Connector: (1) 5V DC power input
# Output Connector: (1) Mini-DisplayPort output

Didn't know any were being shipped yet, this is good news. Now no more complaining that people can't use the 24" on their old MBP.

Is anyone THAT desperate to drop $100+ to run a new ACD on an old Mac Pro?

Well unfortunately for those of us with 30" displays who want to run it on our mini DP toting computers, we also need to shell out $100 for an adapter (one that doesn't work half the time, I would add).

Can't wait until my Mac Pro gets here; should be here by this coming Tuesday. Bought a 2.66GHz quad-core base model, my first Mac Pro. Will be upgrading the video card and RAM soon. Also, bought a Dell 23" SP2309W display for it. :D

My updated workstation for this fall. I have a picture on the fourth page of my workstation before my little facelift.

Any questions just ask!

I agree. Heres mine. Really busy so it looks horrible, but at least I use it. Dual 23"s on articulating mounts. Nice to be able to rotate and move them around.

This has probably been asked a thousand times but where did you guys get those lamps?

Thanks!

2nd monitor makes a HUGE difference ... go for it!

...

When getting a second monitor, I recommend trying to buy the exact same make & model as the one you already have. Looks nicer on your desk, and more importantly it becomes easier to match color/brightness/contrast for visual consistency ... if you're picky about that sort of thing (I am!).

Cheers

Ditto that. I got a new wide gaumet 24" Dell to go with my older one. Given the different panel type, backlight, and color depth I could never get it to look 'right'. Picked up another new 24" on sale that was the same model as the newer one, different firmware revision and they not 100% the same but after calibration they both look the same.
